Dude, I love your performances! I'm listening to a few right now to help keep my homework from driving me insane. I am a piano student, and I've been trying a lot of Scott Joplin lately. I've been watching a lot of your videos to get an idea of how these rags should sound. Thank you very much for sharing your musicality with us all.
You know what i have noticed? When pianists get really into there music they rock back and forth. My chorus teacher does, you do, and i find myself doing it somtimes, i find it amazing! Btw, this is amazing! i love the grace notes.
I freaking love Scott Joplin and all his pieces. Trying to play maple lead rag, bethena and this song right now. You play them all perfectly I always refer back to your videos when practicing
I like this version better than how everyone else plays it (faster) honestly. I think slowing it down was perfectly fine. Solo music is all about interpretation. And the speed allowed you to show the style more
It sounds like Mr. Joplin had all these great rhythms running through his head, and he quickly put them all together in one song before he could forget them! I love it!
gosh, dis is my comeback for almost a year now, coz i really was isolated from ragtime coz the music school here, where i study, doesn't want to hear me playing ragtime, tsk but now, ragtime still prevails on my heart.love it, heard it 2x alredi d 1st one when i was in my junior high school) and now i am a college freshman:), you chocotiger have been one of my inspiration to pursue music as my course, thnx.i've been playin ragtime and it's very very cool!
Absolutely marvelous! This is one of my favourite rags and I have loved this music since hearing it at the Great America amusement park in California 20 years ago and finally matching it to Joplin while in college. I could listen to this all day.
Wow!!! You played this like you've got some sense!!! I've been listening to Joplin players for more than 30 years, and I don't think I've ever heard a pianist with a better feel for the music! You captured the rhythm, the elegance and the FUN of the rags written by the King of the Ragtime Composers!
Ohhh man, that's GREAT! The last third is brilliant. I don't know piano, nor this piece, but I was grinning from ear-to-ear throughout...and at the end, let out an audible "Wow!!" My nephew would love this. Can't wait to hear more. Thanks for the entertainment (and to Scott for the notes).
Great romantic performance with plenty of rits and accels. You showed a lot of control with the tempo. Interesting ending when you speeded up. Well done indeed. Paul.
i love how u make the pieces you play sound like they came originally from you. ur own little things u add to the song make it sound new. again, joplin would be proud =) 10/5 stars man.
Beautiful, as always. I love your performances.. it's obvious you put a lot of work into them. Thank you for sharing this with everyone. :) I've really been enjoying the Joplin pieces you perform -- I randomly come and listen to them occasionally. It feels deeper than when people just speed through them nonsensically.
I´d really like it to play this song from scott Joplin... I think, It´s even better and harder to play than the maple leaf rag.. Very well played! amazing.
I've been playing the Piano since I was 5, I gave up at around 22 because I was stuck at Grade 7. I just started playing again and am finally making improvement, thanks to these Scott Joplin pieces :) You play them brilliantly, far better then anyone else I've seen play them. I am listening to these again and again to help me play by ear, thanks a lot for the inspiration and these videos.
No, there is however an arrangement for this piece to be accompanied by a string quartet and an arrangement with a violin + piano. However the original one is for Piano. Same with The Entertainer and several other Scott Joplin Rags.
Great Job!! Really great! I hope you get an upright grand. The longer bass strings are totally worth it. I like your other rag postings, too! You do a great job of interpretting and putting in personality without overworking the piece. You're an inspiration.
This got me inspired to pick up some more ragtime pieces. I learned Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag, which the latter was tedious, but rewarding to learn. Good use of the pedal and good overall playing! Keep it up!
I really enjoyed it. I am kinda surprised that only a few thousand people have watched it. This song really isn't any worse than the entertainer or maple leaf rag.
I just fell in love with the accelerando you did at the end. It is just too great to be true, but it is, IT IS!! (lol) Congratulations!! Great performance!!
glad to see your new work! It's really good, as normal in you, and quite similar to joplin songs (they're all similar) Keep the good work ;) i was the number *7* of watching this vid ^^
Im playing this too i practised the last part before the third because i love this song. Even more than the maple leaf rag. I wonder it looks so easy when u play this becaus specialy in the last part its not always that nice to play even if i have large hands for my age (im 14)
OMG same, in fact this is always my gaming name "elitesyncopation" in all of my online games, unless i have to use fewer words, i will stick ti Lilt or Liltle. Your version of this rag is my favorite of all covers I've heard. Elite Syncopation is the best rag, Bethena is the best waltz.
I am currently learning scot joplins songs (im 13, and so far have learned maple leaf rag and the first page of the fig leaf) and so far its all fullspeed, as fast as scot joplin plays it himself (ive heard recordings of him)
been listening to this channel since I was 10 over 15 years ago, these are still some of the best versions of most of these compositions, nice

I really enjoy listening to Scott Joplin playing. May you continue playing as I can see you really enjoy it too! Best Wishes to you as a musician.

I'm starting to learn this song, and it is one of the funnest songs I've ever played. Very well done.

God Bless that talent of yours. You have quite a gift, and you are putting it to great use!
You are simply just a joy to listen to. Joplin seems to be alive. He would be proud of you.

Beautiful! Very well played. The Professor himself would be proud. Excellent.
Rags make me feel happy...contented....peaceful.....
Thanks man!
There is something very soothing about Scott joplin. I enjoy the piano player as well.

Wonderful interpretation! I especially love the faster tempo to finish it off with a flourish.
You're amazing. You bring new enjoyment to Joplin
Great job! Great touch! And great changes to the original.
This is one of my favourite where I like all 4 parts.
This is really really great!!! I danced to this song last year with my class! Very well done. :)

I think you played very well, as I am playing this song in the last month.
my cat liked it so much he took a dump and missed his box. Very nice...
Great Job!! Really great! I hope you get an upright grand. The longer bass strings are totally worth it. I like your other rag postings, too! You do a great job of interpretting and putting in personality without overworking the piece. You're an inspiration.

Scott Jaoplin died 100 years ago: April - 01 - 1917. OK-Dreamband recorded two Ragtimes in Memory of Scott: The Entertainer and Clarinet Rag.
