- Starting life as a short wheel base GQ Patrol, Dave has turned this run of the mill 4wd into a one of a kind rock climbing monster. Dave and his family can take this truck anywhere safety and with a huge smile on his face. Featuring triangle 4 link rear, custom strut towers, new body mounts and hand fabricated wheel aches and fuel system. 105 inch wheel base and a TD42 on 30psi of boost completes this one of a kind build.

But looking the video and all the modifications done I was thinking - how you guys legalize that customizations? I just imagine how this vehicle pass German TUV :D
But then this is nothing compared to what is road legal in the usa
Yes, but still... it is kind the same I guess - Shauno's "Dirty 30 II" is so heavily cut, chopped and welded it would be an expensive nightmare to legalize such rig here in Europe.

One good thing here if you do a thorough job you can get an engineers cert for modified vehicles.
We can modify them but it has to pass engineering and have a modification plate fitted with all the codes of the work done we still have to follow the department of transport regulations in Australia each State here has it's own transport Laws and regulations.

you need a 3m wheel base,to start with.i have 2 x 85 lt tanks,one in tray,one behind seat,there only 5" wide.std ford.plus i can fit a l/r tank under if needed.x70 lt.all u.s 4x4rs have in cab tanks on certain models...i would of just bought a gu cab chassis 4.2tdi.done,finished.there more room in a tray than wagon.

Bit low of the power side for 12mm? Mates 12mm and 270hp 30psi
My shorty td with 12mm and gtx2867 is only 20psi and 230hp..
Not everyone is chasing huge numbers... I've seen em tuned down to 180hp for reliability. You're in crank snapping territory after around 220hp

Sounds like a 230hp pump free boosting. A lean 30psi will equate to a sad hp figure but would explain his 680Nm.

Shame about the lack of TD42 power! My 02 Pajero 3.2DID pre CR has stock pump and is tuned to 289hp and 900Nm of torque.
so you have all the modern tech,gadgetary in the world.big fk deal.hows this then,,MWM,4.2tdi,700nm,170kw.no glow plugs,no tech,no computer,nothing,just a frigin diesel.go do something to your exhaust,on your knees.4x4ing is about torque,low revs,not drag strip u nurd..
Yeah i agree. My lada niva makes 1200nm and and 350 hp just with a hot dog exhaust but i cant find the dyno sheets...
