    Just come across your channel via this vid, takes me back to when I was making this type of furniture. Will certainly be looking forward to your next one. Always happy to offer advice if it helps, but it looks like you are doing a great job.

      Hi mate, thanks for that. very kind of to say. I often ask for help in the comments so keep your eyes peeled. Always happy with suggestions too! Especially from people who do it so no doubt understand the time,quality and speed triangle 😂
      I am going to level with you and tell you the next video wasn’t the best but I feel like I have some good previous ones. I am still learning how to document what I do and I have to admit sometimes I just get too stuck in to film!
      Thanks again for watching

    A Shopfitting company I worked ( bars, wardrobes, vanity’s, seating ) for just used to lay a few 8 x 4 melamine sheets down in their workshop to build on - dis assembled then taken to the job and levelled there ( does that make sense? )
    Curtain system sounds bloody good 👍🏻

      Thanks Stuart.
      It does! The first joinery shop I worked in used to do something similar. It worked well for marking out aswell. I hadn’t thought of that to be fair! I really wish that part of the workshop was level! Thinking about it I know a floor layer who could probably latex that area bang on!
      Got me thinking now!
      Thanks for the support💪🏻

    Try hanging sockets over benches so no trailing cables but looks organised for now😂

    • @Wattsjoinerybarn
      @Wattsjoinerybarn  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. Good idea! I could have a pull down socket over the middle bench! I actually pulled two cables through on the osb wall for above one bench, shame I then boarded over the back boxes so now have to buy two more🙈. Do you know of any pull down retractable sockets that are any good?

    Re the wardrobe area I would hinge a board from the wall and fix packers on the underside to level it , you can then drop down to the floor and erect the furniture and pull up out way when finished , could be 30mm high max , hafelle do a very low adj foot or a std T-nut type foot quite cheep
    Re bench area might be worth making it RUclips / social media friendly with ya logo on show few tools on wall that you use nice colour etc , can move bench away from wall and do like you did the Temu video
    The spray curtain seems a good idea for larger projects and spraying large pieces in the future
    Would be interested in the lights you use as have a wardrobe project coming up , set up an Amazon affiliate page also linking ya stuff you use
    Storage area for ya tool box’s up out of the way but quick access to use or load the van
    French cleats for ya bench area near the wall bench around ya logo sign use up
    Off cuts for the tool holders , but bench is quite deep so access would be difficult

      Hi mate
      Yes I think it has to be the drop down stage but very slim line! Probably on a piano hinge. Gonna check Hafele out this afternoon and email my rep!
      I like the idea of making the bench RUclips friendly! One thing I noticed is I used the mez above to film from this week and it worked well. I could fit a rail on there and the wall that houses either a camera or phone mount, then I could slide it around. Currently I just use a block of wood rebated out to house my phone off that has a tripod mount screwed to it! Which I in turn screw to anything wooden😂 but that has to change! Trouble is I know nothing about cameras but I know a man that does!
      I want to use the spray curtain idea but I want it to be a decent system. If it isn’t user friendly it won’t go away properly or won’t get used!
      I think I want all my systainers away the bench under the pocket jig was for all my festool stuff but now over spilling a lot just gets left out! But you make a good point it should be near a door for loading! Maybe under the sheet rack on wheels!
      I think i might put my white board and even a screen up on that wall above the bench, would be amazing for drawings and checking stuff!
      Amazon links seems far too professional but I like where you are going! Maybe one day! I like the lo fi ness of what I do and it’s kinda intentional. I don’t really know what it is I am doing tbh but I am doing it. I will cover more info on the lights and connectors tho as I have a good system now!
      Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
      Matt😊

    Really love your work. Just wondering what computer programme you are using for the cabinets?
    Also what did you allow for a hinge offset? Im a keen woodworker and hoping to have a go at my own face frame kitchen. Thank you. Greeting from Ireland

    • @Wattsjoinerybarn
      @Wattsjoinerybarn  2 месяца назад

      Hi mate, thanks for watching. I use Sketchup 2017 free version.
      For the offset typically I do 40/42mm face frames with 19mm cabinet sides and 18mm end panels so depending on layout I use the Hafele metal inset hinges with 0,2 or 4mm mounting plates. If I need more I just switch to Blum as they have more mounting plate options.

    Always good to see the benefits of having a large working space and a panel saw just speeds things up compared to using a tracksaw for all the cuts. One day, one day...
    Check out the Hafele Axilo as they do smaller height (53-80 mm) feet, I use that on all jobs. There is a price increase compared to the cheaper feet i'm sure but they work well and have a nice tool for adjustment rather than layering around on the floor making micro adjustments.
    Keep up the videos, I've had them on in the background when I'm in the workshop recently also.
    Pete

    • @Wattsjoinerybarn
      @Wattsjoinerybarn  11 месяцев назад

      Hey Pete.
      Yes the panel saw is great and so versatile. No idea why I kept the mitre saw station! The new scoring track saw or climb cutting on the ts55 works well and I actually have the full bench dog system for the benches but if just wasn’t for me! However for purely sheet goods it’s amazing!
      I have used those legs when I used to fit for a furniture company but never bought them as don’t have the tool!
      Do you use Hafele for all your stuff ? I am thinking of switching over but my rep is a little slow at responding! Would be great to get all my glue and screws etc from the same place!
      Cheers for watching

      I use a mix of places really, most Blum bits I get from Interfit. I think they sell the feet as well from Hafele.
      Hardware wise I try not to offer options to the customer as I like to know how it all fits and if anything needs replacing I know I will used the same hardware etc. Blum Onxy and tandem (12 or 18mm sides) runners on any job that uses them

    • @Wattsjoinerybarn
      @Wattsjoinerybarn  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I use interfit or tradehinges, both have a great range and service! Agreed I don’t really offer alternatives! Quite often customers aren’t interested in the details like that.
      I do need to give my Hafele rep another chance! Hope he watches this😂

      Hi Paul, thanks for the continued support👍🏻 I have seen the pack out stuff for a while and always heard good things about it! For me I think I need to make something. I just dont know what! I think if I don’t have my van racked out with drawers I would consider these packout systems tho.

      @davidcarroll7903 Yeah. I think it’s what I am gonna do, got that lovely steel as a perfect break point to hang one too! I am happy to run doors and panels up the stairs to be sprayed but some projects are just too big!
      Do you have an actual curtain system? If so what brand?

      @@Wattsjoinerybarn it’s just a roll of medium gauge plastic I picked up from the builders providers - I don’t do much spraying but it works for what I need , I use a HVLP system from Fuji so less over spray in the air and I don’t have an extraction system so just as well!

    • @Wattsjoinerybarn
      @Wattsjoinerybarn  11 месяцев назад

      @davidcarroll7903 if it works that’s all that counts. I am thinking about a track with some tall curtains on a track that go back into a bag. It’s a fairly high ceiling so always dusty up top. I am on hvlp too but run two cheap two cheap cyclone dust extractors off Amazon. Well worth the money!

    Another enjoyable video Matt. I agree on the Blum drawer runners, they are so bloody expensive plus you normally have you order the clips separately at additional cost! I started using REJS runners which are pretty decent but I'm slightly sceptical of long term reliability. Like you i stick with Blum for the hinges. GTV are a pretty big brand so they should hold up well. Do they do those in a non push to open? Where did you get them from? Re adjustable feet what about just normal threaded jobbies like you get on table legs etc? Or I've used low profile ones from Hafele before (Integrato G they're called) but they're designed to fit into ladder style plinths. So if you wanted a solid drop down deck type of thing they might not be suitable. Keep up the good work! Don't worry about vids being boring, it's what people like me watch for! 😂 Busman's holiday 😂

      @Wattsjoinerybarn  11 месяцев назад

      Mate! I actually have those slim legs on my work benches! 🙈I feel so stupid!
      I got the runners from eBay, can’t remember where. I don’t know about the rejs runners but their bins are no good! Terrible customer service too! Then again I think a lot of the building trade has bad customer service! I don’t know what else GTV do but I will consider them in the future.
      Thanks so much for watching!

      @@Wattsjoinerybarn Ha. Sometimes the old grey matter needs a jump start! Also you definitely need a curtain for spraying. I used to have a similar set up for my spray area (just using a mega large tarp strung up) but had a lot of overspray settling everywhere. That was with an HVLP compressor set up and no extraction though. I've now moved over to airless and have a basic extraction system and it's night and day difference.

    • @Wattsjoinerybarn
      @Wattsjoinerybarn  11 месяцев назад

      Definitely. It’s crazy how much I forget! Luckily I now film it.
      I agree I think a curtain would work well for that area! I could actually spray a whole project whilst assembled! Also there is an air filtration box already there plus it’s own door!
      I know what you mean about extraction! When I first built the paint room upstairs I didn’t have extraction and a crap hvlp! Since getting the graco finish pro and putting in two extractors there is no over spray settling anywhere! Especially if I open the hatch a few inches and leave the roller door open. It creates fresh air pushing any mist straight out again.
      What airless do you have? I was toying with it but wasn’t sure about the wastage! I like having the cup liners in my graco edge gun as the clean up is minimal! And the system works really well but I have never used airless!

    • @_nacnud_
      @_nacnud_ 11 месяцев назад

      @@Wattsjoinerybarn I've currently got the Graco gxff. Losses are minimal due to the hopper and small hose diameter (although you can retrieve that if you want). Tbh the level of finish I'm getting is at least on par with before plus there's no faffing about thinning paint in the cups etc. Overall I'm defo happy with the switch. In the future I might look to upgrade to a higher capacity unit or just have multiple units for spraying primer / top coat/ lacquer etc as I find that is a real time consumer. Although that is the case with any system it seems

      Hi mate
      Not too sure how this works and I may actually do a video of the system I use including cable, connectors and drivers. I really like these lights as they have a hard square face to them unlike the other silicone ones I have used that are rounded.
