@@zaikolebolsh5724 ...... As a long time player of D&D, Dark and Darker should be known as DaD. But I'm not here to argue about a joke on a stream that I didn't watch all the way through because I have a 9-7 job and dont get home until about 9pm. If you want to elaborate on OPs comment then be my guest. But don't sit there and chastise me about a missed joke.......
That's strange how parry completely differently than I do on more than a few of the creatures... like the skeleton guardsman is REALLY EASY, you just step to the left and put the tip of your sword where you were previously standing, they're SO easy for me! 😂
Tip#0 don't mald overshit going through your sword. Hitboxes are out of wack and you just have to learn real invisible hit boxes. And then you become Longdong jedi.
@@alsonollid The hitboxes are really wonky especially at particularly close range where it clips through. You can parry a lot of attacks that still goes through. If you understand this and move a tiny bit back it 100% is much better though. Newer players might not realize that as much though.
Cool guide. I'm curious if these will still work if they ever finish coding the impact mechanic for longsword. It shouldn't be able to parry any weapons with 4+ impact according to the game but that bug has been around for like 3 years now so idk if they even care enough about melee combat to fix it
The thing is the longsword CANT technically fully parry any impact 4 or higher. You can get the tink and get a riposte off but it doesn’t stagger or even stop the weapons swing animation. So if you for example parry a war maul, even if it is get it off the maul will continue through ur sword and still hit you. Not saying that’s what the devs intended but there is some sort of mechanic in place, even if it’s a dumb one.
@@Sparkykawa Are you trying to say that the parrying in DaD is anywhere near accurate? I know you're not that stupid bro. Please convince me that you can parry a war maul/battle axe at all much less by holding a block and then redirecting all of the force AFTER impact. Also from the wiki and in-game tooltip: "Crush: Gain the ability to destroy unreinforced doors and containers. Also gain 1 Impact Power on your attacks to defeat blocks and parries better." Crush has 0 effect on parries as does weapon impact in general. I know you're biased as a longsword enjoyer but come on man.. I know the fantasy of having good melee combat in this game is attractive, but if it were any good you wouldn't be raging every stream.
@@Zorkalot So there are multiple levels of stagger/recovery interaction from weapon impact. There is the recovery time for the attacker and there is the stagger effect for the defender. Shield wielders can be staggered by high impact blows depending on the difference, but longswords users cannot be staggered at all. The animation for it doesn't even exist in the game.
@@Zistac7 I’m not talking about ur longsword being staggered, I’m talking about the enemies weapon, as things like the war maul do NOT get staggered by ur longsword and go right through it even if you get a riposte off
16:25 it's just dsync. The servers have been insanely bad since the last patch.. there is a pretty consistent delay of about .5 seconds, sometimes longer, almost never shorter.. should be a huge embarrassment for IM. If this was any other game they would be getting ridiculed for it.

For shield skelly just walk left a little when the attack starts and its consistent
Your the best sparky!
You can parry the wraith lung if you strafe right n do a 180 it’s just risky since you gotta turn your bacc n strafe at the right moment
Thank You for sharing man!
for axemen you can crouch in front of them look up and parry their overhead super easy
For nightmare mimics they sometimes jump at you and you have to aim higher as well.
Nice video. Thank you cute lizard.
perfect !
Yummy content, love it

I feel the hitboxs are actually accurate asf. Only 200 hrs in game but yeah

7:18 so how to parry the Skeleton Champion stab didn't see in the clip
I also want to parry then but Skeleton Champion hit my finger so many time :(

That’s not what weapon impact in this game is. That’s also not what parrying means….

First one for swordsman made me think you do not know what you are talking about, but you do which just confused me
You try talking to chat and showing animations at the same time while never missing a single parry.
