    The door handle annoyance can be helped along simply by putting a sticker with a arrow that says "PRESS" aimed at the back of the handle where people commonly get in.

    I agree with you on purchasing this car instead of renting for great savings. For even greater savings for ride sharing, I would check into a Chevy bolt. I do 4 to 5000 miles per month here in the Southern California area by Magic Mountain and have 3 Bolts since 2019, with the only maintenance being only rotating and replacing tires. My 2017 went 125000 miles without any problems. My 2021 was 70000 miles with the same results. I bought the 2023 bolt euv on January 1st and already have 29000 miles. I am averaging 4.6 miles/kw here and average 1800 to 2000 dollars per week. It's rated at 247 miles per charge, but I constantly get over 300 miles on a Friday and Saturday night, which are my busiest days of the week. Now, this is coming from a Tesla model y performance and an M3LR owner family. For the efficiency and price of the vehicle, it should be a strong consideration. I average 150 to 180 rides per week. My cheap car also has ventilated seats. Which the 3 and the y don't have 😂, as well as android and Apple Play. I also fully charge my car every night, without any issues. Keep up your good videos and congrats on your model 3 performance. Just know that I believe that the Tesla is 10X better than the bolt euv, but I am just speaking of efficiency and cost savings from a Diamond Uber driver with over 26000 rides.

    Hey Ben amazing video I too live in Colorado however just a little south of you in Colorado Springs. I also rent a Tesla through the Hertz Rental program. I have a Tesla Model 3 long range AWD Dual motor. When I got the car my milage was at 66k. Ive been in one now little over a week and delt with a snowstorm. The Model 3 performed like a champ, even coming down some steep grades in some of our neighborhoods. The passengers were blown away how it handled in the snow. Springs has a solid supercharging network as well. Now that I've been in one for a while - watched a ton of videos to educate myself, i have the confidence in driving this EV in any weather conditions and not feel like I have to stay home and miss the fun. Of course, when it does come to weather I tell any driver to drive with what you feel comfortable in driving. I was part of the Lyft Hertz rental program here in the springs and it was an utter disaster. So much I deactivated myself from Lyft all together. Keep up the good work my man. People need to be informed so they can make an educated decision about rideshare.

I signed an NDA so I can’t say what vehicle, but it was a 2022 suv and the brakes would malfunction and the car would shut off while driving. Let's not forget how much time we all waste sitting at home on our phones. So it's not really time wasted at a supercharger. I do uber part time couple hour in the morning and i guess elecric car really help to save money cause i fill tank every 3rd day it include drive to work and for house use. and it cost about $60 per tank, I am taking about nonhybrid vehicle 4cyl. If I calculate it's the same or close to the same as electric. Tesla warranty on the battery pack and drive unit is about 100k miles. But what's after that? It cost $10k+ for either motor or battery pack. If I replaced my car engine which is still running well after 160k miles it would cost me around $5k. So I would stay with my CAMRY until they have 500+ miles per charge. Ohh yeh my car gives 360 miles per tank average. 😊

    • @EV_Ben
      @EV_Ben  Год назад +1

      The economics depend largely on your local gas prices and charging cost, both of which vary from city to city. In my experience (living in two states with an EV), even if you supercharge 100% of the time (by far the most expensive way to charge), you're still paying about 1/2 the price of gas per mile driven, even with an efficient car like a Camry. If you can charge at home you're looking at closer to 1/8 the cost per mile. And that's before factoring in things such as oil changes, and other maintenance that EVs don't require. Also, Tesla's drivetrain warranty is 120k, not 100k. Most Tesla batteries and motors last 200k or more, by which point you'll probably be looking for a new car anyway. Finally, motors cost closer to 5k, not 10k, but the batteries are expensive. Thats why they are designed to outlast the car. Thanks for watching!

I even ask my daugther to remove her shoes when she gets in the back.. she does without any complaints.. yes im that crazy.. eventhough i need money , my model 3 is my precious.. no one is allowed to drive.. except tesla service guys.. maybe i have missed it.. but do you make alot of money doing that uberthing? Because tesla ca be very expensive to fix especially if the streets are full of large and deep potholes.. my insurance covers for only 10k miles a year because i dont use it much in the winter.. and also because im a seasonal worker.. so im saving a little on the insurance. Now unless you are telling that you can make tons of money doing the uberthing like enough money to buy cash a brand new tesla every year i might change my mind and do the uber thing.. but something crossed my mind while im typing.. what about vandalism.. in my area, real taxi drivers hate uber .. they gona cut you off or do silly thing and even damage your tesla with somehow.. sure you can call the cops but it won t fix the damage .. and we all know how terribly long it takes to fix a tesla. You probably never had any issues in colorado probably you guys are more civilized.. but in my area people are savage and they don t care.. as for my tesla.. it is by far the best car i ever bought.. its 2023 and i have about $15k left to pay. So in 2 years or so it should be clear.. and i will only have the maintainance , the electricity and insurance to pay.. yea I saved years to buy mine to be able to put atleast 70% downpayment.. thats why i only have $15k left.. had to install the wall charger, buy winter tires, roof rack , seat covers and other stuff.. anyway let us know how much money you made with the uberthing

    If not this.. then get a Prius. or other Toyota Hybrid... They run FOREVER... I got 423,000 out of mine... and have several friends with more than that.

    Renting a Tesla for $360 a week, that's upwards of $1400/month tells me you guys either have no clue how much these cars retail for or your credit is horrible.

    You probably regret using tesla for ride share by now.I dare you to share it now.when the battery starts to have issue then you will wish you never use it for rideshare

    Ben If i bought used one for 30k , paid 20k in cash and the rest is payments, i will be supercharging it only , because i live in an apartment .
    my question is it worth it?

    • @EV_Ben
      @EV_Ben  Год назад +3

      20k down is a lot of cash! You'd have to do the math for yourself but my guess is it would be very worthwhile. And if you got home charging you'd be in amazing shape

      Thanks for the concern! It actually wasn’t a bad wreck and insurance should’ve fixed the old one, but they didn’t want to sadly

      No, because the battery isn't under warranty anymore. Expect to pay at least $9000 for another battery. No idea if the previous owners took care of the battery.

    THIS CAR TESLA M3 NOT GOOD FOR UBER: battery drains fast in summer due to AC, less 3hrs only non stop, plus surge now $25 cost for 250 miles. You need to 4:39 charge 3 times a day, may cost you $50 to $70 total charge, plus your time waisting by driving to parking & waiting time usualy 35 min per charge. you will loose 2hrs a day just to charge, time is your money, you could make $50 driving for the 2hrs you waisted. NOT WOTH IT.

      @EV_Ben  Год назад +8

      I have to say in my experience this isn’t true at all. Winter is actually worse in range than summer, and I only charged once a day driving over 300 miles each day. Thanks for watching!

    • @EV_Ben

      Cost to drive is less, and you earn an extra $1/ride with an EV through Uber

    What happenes when you have a flat tire?

    • @EV_Ben
      @EV_Ben  Год назад +2

      Thankfully it's never happened to me, but if you don't carry a spare with you (I don't) then you have to get towed or maybe try one of those tire patch kits. This is why I have roadside assistance on my insurance :) Thanks for watching!

    • @EV_Ben

      I used to Uber about 40-50hrs a week. So not 12hr days, usually in the 8-10hr range.

      Uber is best to promote other businesses. The customers that like you, hand them your business card for your other business. Plumber, Electrician, Realtor, Landscaping, Pool Cleaning, A/C repair, etc.
