Amazing, loved OMD, still love OMD and this is one of the best songs from that era. We loved a love music from the 80s and this was truly at the top of that list. Great music is timeless, so even though I just turned 57 years young, I still enjoy it just as much, actually with a new and renewed appreciation of how good it truly was and is.
There is brilliant and then there is this...next level. What a great band these are, although they had a break around 96 they’re still going...since 78. Credit where it’s due.
Andy is singing along because on the record, Paul is multi-tracked, and is harmonising with himself. Andy is also co-writer of the song. Get off his back, "fans".
@@jpalvarez4972 no because they haven’t got great voices which is mostly what these tv shows try to aim at. But neither did the Beatles and both groups wrote great songs.
He certainly did on the original, but I think Andy 'helped out' when live due to Paul's vocals not being the best. These days Paul is a much improved singer than he was back then so Andy just tends to sing backing or harmonies on this one, Souvenir and Forever Live And Die.
Feel kinda sad and sorry for young teenagers x2023 never experience x the whole 80s thing x nite clubs pubs with videos juke box playing 80s tunes no sport on tv x just music merry Christmas x everyone x
Nah. Paul serves a function (ballads, backing vox) but Andy was always the one with the lead voice, even if he sounds rough here. Paul couldn't carry a song like "Stay" or "Seven Seas".
@@jpalvarez4972 yeah Andy doesn’t have a nice voice but he has a strong voice which is important especially for a long concert. Paul has a voice slightly easier on the ears but he wouldn’t be able to single lead vocal for a whole gig. If you watch the Drury Lane performance in 1981 you’ll see what I mean.
Not cheating but just difficult to play it all live hence why the Weir brothers joined the live line-up. There's some Fairlight sequences going on and Mal is drumming to a click in his cans but most of it is played live.
Yo escuchando y viendo OMD desde Chile Febrero 2023. Quien mas???

BRAVO YO TAMBIEN OMD
Brings back memories of college. Great band, great song and I am glad to see that they are still together. Loved seeing them live a few years back.
Still brings tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my arms.
Paul's been my favourite since 1980... love these guys still 42yrs on
Soooo good...can't get enough of that female voice singing "SECRET"
That's Maureen, Paul's ex-wife. She can heard on Tesla Girls too.
G O L D E N E Y E does she still go to the odd omd gig
@@brody5211 she probably doesnt go to any of their gigs now. ive heard they had quite a nasty divorce 🤷♀️
And she says it at the right time... 😢💓
Mi canción favorita de los OMD 😊
It’s no secret, this song is awesome!
Oh man they sound so good, my goodness, that was a fantastic time to be alive, very unfortunate that I am living in the wrong generation
Beautiful...
Awesome version of the song! Interesting hearing Paul & Andy with a rare duet. Amazing.
One of my favourites if Paul Humphreys... he looked his best here. loved his hair!
Piekni i zdolni kocham tych chlopakow
Oh still so good after so many years. I love OMD. Always have always will :-)
Saw them at Red Rocks in 85. Colorado. With power station. Then again in 88 at Cal Expo Sactown w/DM .
Karaoke version?!? Love them ❤
1985 such a great year, but then again the decade is and always will be the best
That’s the truth.
i love this live performance version of OMD
Ah, the sound of the 80’s, so good!
The soundtrack of my life!
its part of my growing up back in 80s here in Philippines , I was 1st yr high school then...
A Absolute Masterpiece ❤❤❤
I love you OMD!!!!❤
The voice of Paul Humphreys is so cute 🤩💙
i was 12 years old, and i still remember this song...specially the lady that said SEECRETE !

I was there with my sister. Also INXS was here and a few Dutch bands.
I love how 'raw' it sounds, I love it. Great start to my morning:)
Lo mejor de los 80 inolvidable estas canciones
Always had a thing for OMD loved them, still do, But Take That came along, what can I say, I have to love them both.
Are you aware that OMD wrote a song with Gary Barlow for the film 'Eddie the Eagle'?
grupos de verdad de los 80 qu tocaban y no abusaban del playback
If anyone is interested: I've got this whole gig on dvd......
I know this is an old comment, but you gotta upload what you have
Yes
The electronic Righteous, What a joy~!
Beautiful song of OMD, love it 💗💗💗💗💗
I'm only 5yrs old then.❤️😊80s
I Love This Song 😍

OMD Forever!!

MARAVILLOSO!!!✌️🍾🥂👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hey, this is Paul Humphrey’s lead. I wish Andy would just step back to this song. I want to appreciate Paul’s voice 😒
Lovin' this in Dec 2020, especially when compared to uninspired drivel that passes as music these daze ... :(
💖💝🌺❤️🌟🌈🥰🌟 days when was honesty and way of dress was nice💖💝❤️🌸🌈🥰🌟
Simplemente geniales e inugualables

Super groupe.
I loved x ever , this song 🎈😄😄😄

One of the best songs of the 80.
Close ur eyes and dance ♥
They sing like karaoke drunkards but I love them.
PAUL ❤️
great song. i love it.
ADORO OMD...
love this song
Paul Super.
Andy McCluskey, I love you and I will love you forever
nostalgie 1985
Estos magico
Gran voz en vivo!!
in those years music was played on guitars keyboards and bass, percussion of course, today...
On those days there were bands that only used synthesisers and drum machines, and today there a tons of good artists too. Dumbass oldfart.
Smashed it
Super rola! 👌🏽
They should play this more ..
Hey, this is Paul's song. Keep it down Andy. 😉
Yes, and It's embarrassing. Really. The worst part is when he's out of tune ("everyday etc"). Ego trouble.
Um, no. Andy's the co-writer of "Secret". He sings along because on the record Paul is multi-tracked, and is also harmonising with himself at points.
Paul is dying on the stage. I think Andy is protecting him...
@@henrideboom Andy can't even stay in tune, so he can"t protect even his own voice. huh
I know! He f'kd that up
Great.
like en in gles o español si la escuchas en el 2020 como yo.. lo maximo y no aburre hacerlo ''' saludos''''
💕
Awesome!
Oooh my, don't think they would have passed and Idols audition. But love them all the same 🤣🤣🤣
Most actual artists wouldn't. Indulgent warbling, without a shred of feeling, ain't art.
@@jpalvarez4972 no because they haven’t got great voices which is mostly what these tv shows try to aim at. But neither did the Beatles and both groups wrote great songs.
OMG! The guy with black hair was so out of tune!!
Not very tuned up voices but it’s a great and pop song
❤️
such a shame Andy's voice is louder, in which this song is supposed to be Paul's spotlight. great performance nonetheless
Well Andy *is* co-writer of the song, and Paul is double-tracked on the record.
@@jpalvarez4972 yes but Paul has a nicer voice which I think fits this song better.
Puyol playing the drums.
TheDimensionsPeru jajaja es verdad
The great Mal Holmes. He had a heart attack onstage with OMD in Toronto and has now retired from playing live.
Jaj si se parecen mucho
OMFRICKIND
No sequencer here. How things have progressed.
There's some Fairlight page R sequencing going on there.
fairlight and emulator here !
Nobody dances like Andy!
I thought that Paul sang this one. :)
Still, they are both amazing!

Btw, who on background vocals around 2:15? Pretty good harmony.
Brothers > Graham Weir & Neil Weir

En vivo es mejor! OMD LO MAXIMO!
CANTAN SUPER, Y ES UNA GRAN BANDA
Andy normally plays bass on this. Whoever is doing the bass slaps kept playing the wrong notes at the start of each verse!!
Neil weir is playing bass and his brother Graham is playing keyboards
Stfu u clown get your hearing tested 😂😂😂😂

Gay Maxwell is clearly tone deaf.
Does andy song this along with paul as a duet these days ?
Paul does it himself nowadays.
This Is Getting Hard For Me😊
Paul has the voice, not the other one.
Nah. Paul serves a function (ballads, backing vox) but Andy was always the one with the lead voice, even if he sounds rough here. Paul couldn't carry a song like "Stay" or "Seven Seas".

i still love it even if they both sing so badly :)
Seems like keyboards are mostly pre-recorded. A really great song but not impressive played live due to so many keyboard cheats.
Not cheating but just difficult to play it all live hence why the Weir brothers joined the live line-up. There's some Fairlight sequences going on and Mal is drumming to a click in his cans but most of it is played live.
Why do they sing this togethere ? Not good at all
Because Paul is multi-tracked, and harmonising with himself, on the record. Andy is also co-writer of this song.
@@jpalvarez4972 keep telling them
Unfortunately most electronica does not play well live. Like night and day with the studio version. Weak vocal and poor harmony.
Terrible bass playing by the backing guy. 🙁
