Checking for Root Fly Larvae with Potatoes and Spraying for Aphids in May Garden

Today is the last day of May😊.
I bought some potatoes from the market to check for root fly larvae in the soil.
If you cut the potatoes and place the cut side on the soil, the larvae will attach to them by the next day.
Did I find any root fly larvae in my pots?
I boiled the leftover potatoes and enjoyed them.
The first rose bloomed beautifully, but I found a lot of aphids on the other rose buds.
On the day I discovered them, I wore rubber gloves and removed them by hand.
It turns out there were quite a few aphids on other plants too.
The next morning, I made a hydrogen peroxide solution and sprayed it on the affected areas.
