  • Hello everyone!!! Back to #pidvlog #aroundeurope part #8. This is the 7th and 8th day of my husband and I's European trip. Still in Brussels Belgium, this time for the first time I tried "COOK AND EAT ARSIK IN EUROPE!!!". Where Arsik is a typical dish of the Batak and Mandailing people or also called dengke na niarsik which means fish cooked until dry. This dish is a symbol of bounty and will be served during traditional events such as weddings and births. Arsik seasoning is very distinctive, containing several components that are typical of the mountainous region of North Sumatra, such as andaliman and asam cikala (kecombrang fruit), galangal, and lemongrass where these spices are very difficult to even find in Europe.
