    Detroit is picking 17th from the Hronek/Horvat deal. They would only need his defense to improve to bottom pair status as he would make his worth on the power play. If he improves to top 4 status that's a steal at 17. I don't think Yzerman would be wrong to draft him.

    If I’m being honest, we should trade down for future assets (just picks, no players), then pick up Dmitri Simashev. Good defence man with great defending skills, a bit lacking on the offensive side but the 6’4 195-200lbs frame is just perfectly fitting to pair alongside 43.
    Now of course we have Hronek, Hirose, and McWard whom are all exciting players with the prospect of being decent rotational players, if not franchise cornerstones.
    But if we are going to take a defence man in this draft, we should take Simashev.

      Hopefully Allvin and the Chipmunks can get clarity that their "guy" well be available down the draft if they choose to, and don't just make an educated guess

    Good player, but the Canucks are terrible defensively. This guy wont change that. They need a Derian Hatcher type who can skate, quite frankly. A guy who is mobile, make a good first pass and box out opposing players. Adding another small, offensive defenseman isn’t going to move the needle.

      thats why i want david reinbacher, but hes probably gonna be taken by then so id rather a forward

      @Statsy10 Год назад +1

      I understand that point, but Hughes has helped us in that regard and ASP can as well. It just might take a while for him to learn to defend. I don't expect Reinbacher to still be on the board at 11, and taking another forward will do less for our defense than getting another puck mover.

      Here's the weird thing- in fantasy I feel like asp is seriously underrated and I think hell end up with substantially more points than rwinbacher when its all said and done
      BUT
      Reinbacher to the Canucks would be a coup. Hes solid offensively but his defensive upside is top 10-20 in the league (again with enough scoring to add 40-50 points in any given year) and that helps the Canucks so much more. Another quinn Hughes is almost redundant (its sort of why they haven't been in a big rush with Rathbone who remains a very good if not one dimensional offensive threat). They need an all around dman. Not just defense or just offense but a number one guy who can get the puck up for the next line efficiently and who can score while not cutting corners... thats reinbachwr lol! Asp is fantastic but I think he solves a much bigger hole on Calgary imho.

    Hilarious that you uploaded this 30 seconds after I just acquired the 12th overall pick in my dynasty league, with which I'm intending on picking ASP hahaha

    Ever since Detroit traded Hronek I've been wanting them to draft this guy with their ninth pick if he's still available, but Yzerman rarely does want I want, so we'll have to see what happens.

    I have ZERO problem with the Hughes comparable. Don't compare him to Hughes now, compare him to a pre-draft Hughes. I don't think the Canucks will have a shot at Reinbacher so this pick makes a lot of sense.

    I feel the Canucks should draft best defencmen or centre at 11 they are both biggest needs

    he is the allen iverson of nhl prospects. breaks so many ankles. some of his shootout highlights are absolutely datsyukian. Redwings better trade the 17 pick to move up and pick him

    Million dollar question: who is to say that ASP won't be the second coming of Tyson Barrie? Who is to be sure that he will be something more?

    Never draft for need , draft best player available, remember 2016 draft , they took Joullevi

    • @baiqi44
      @baiqi44 Год назад

      Yup, but when everything's equal, then you draft for need. Reinbacher makes the most sense at the Nucks 11 spot. But, if he's not available, that means there's really really good forward prospects (most of them are centres too) who will drop.

      And yet Sergachev, McAvoy and Chychrun went after him in the same draft. Not a good example. The Canucks scouts just blew it.

    After listening to Cam Robinson's interview, I do not want the Canucks to pick Axel Sandin Pellikka. Too risky. His size and skating translating to the NHL are concerns. I hope another team reaches for him so we can steal someone else. Personally, in our range, I'm hoping we draft either Reinbacher, Dvorsky, Moore or Barlow.

  • @nobuddy2012
