Jerry Luip main thing is to just make sure you are sticking with the squad lead and you will be fine. Also make sure you have a mic and use it.
Jerry Luip for best comms think what you see, bearing, distance. So example, enemy humvee 120 degrees 200m.
It takes getting use to but thats the basics.
yeah I have a bunch of time in DayZ so I have the skills to navigate and orient myself on a map, the hard part is recieving instructions from your squad lead and following through with orders without dying 'cause you're not paying attention to your surroundings. Basically it's a multi tasking skill I had to learn

Atticus Mikla. this is just like the Russian holding osoweic fortress and they've been holding for like a long time with artillery and infantry charges and the Germans used chlorine gas and once the german got into the fortress the left of the russian charges at the german that look like zombies. and after that the russian give up the fortress.
this one look almost the same but theres no dead men attack (obviously) and the artillery fire was mortar fire and the infantry didn't come in waves
and the same thing is they abandon the radio station same as the "the dead men" abandon osoweic fortress

Long story short I will be buying this. Holy shit , i wish i could lead a squad like that. I only led once and we did ok, but thats just because i had guys that already knew what they were doing.

Brandon Cosme im 20 myself, and without trying to blow my own horn I frequently get people asking me if im SL'ing since im apparantly decent to good at it.
Key thing to being an SL is communication and solid judgement. Dont be afraid to talk to other squadmates for their ideas (again Communications ) do the shit jobs..capping flags up the route and use that time to practise movements with a new group. If you have a good experienced player allong with you make sure he takes the Semi SL role. You stay with a small team and supress let him do the closing rinse and repeat untill you feel you saw/learned enough and take the reins yourself for the full 100% and then its just a constant learning process :) time breeds solid leaders

ryancrazy1 You should really not lead a squad if you dont know what you are doing. If you still are confused with some aspects of the game dont play squad leader
and thats true too, if you know the game well enough and got a Tiny ammount of leadership in you..thats when you start to show up as a SL, practise and patience makes perfect.

Wow, how many hours to achieve this skill? This game looks amazing!
You can hear the mortars coming in because there's a slight whistle before they hit. Just like after a while you can differentiate weapon sounds.
If you listen closely, in the distance you can hear the crack of their mortar battery firing, he just judged how long it took to hit from that initial crack.
once you hear the crack in the distance it took around 20-25 seconds to land from the distance they were firing from. He was judging it off that.

I live in Sweden and I would say that I'm better than average in English. Are there some good EU servers or do you have to play at US servers to like, be a ''Squad''. and is it possible to live in Sweden and play on US Servers? Thanks.

As an American I will often times go out of my way to go to EU servers because the people there are better at teamwork and most speak English, also helps I speak fluent German though

I remember this super fob. I was actually in this game haha. I literally healed probably about 3-5 of you guys in the Super Fob before they took me out. Then, I re-spawned and bounded back to you guys (solo) to provide support when your other squads pushed out for the new objective. Literally popping smoke, bounding to heal, exchanging fire from the rooftop, popping smoke, bounding and checking the barbwire entrance (because at times they were pushing through), retreating back into the compound by the river (because they were pushing up). #Chuckles #Bunni #Nathan #SuperEpic #HookingAndJabbing

Issue with frostbite is that it handles random particle effects as well as other graphical simulations really well, but it does very, very bad with real time physics simulations and in game calculations , which is why strategy games and rpg games stuggle SO much with the engine, as it was designed solely for a "cinematic" fps with really very little actual physics simulations.

Your lucky to have 4 guys who actually have comms, let alone follow orders or work to a strategy. You guys playing arms put us console owners to shame. Best Squad Leader I have seen. I haven't seen many Squad vids admittedly, but you did an awesome job. This vid made me install Squad again. Not sure why I don't play it more. Great vid Bud.
I did a mistake once... we taking a building(open building) then insurgents came in and only me and my friend is alive so we called mortars on my position... well it killed everything but killed my ears too...
The loudest moment is on a rooftop of a tall building we got mortars and machine guns... well we started taking fir from an enemy vehicul so we fired back and notes it’s a small space so all I heard are machine gun fire and suppression. It was sooo fun
This is by far one of the greatest games to ever hit the market, the depth of gameplay, tactics, logistics, is just insane. It give you a huge sense of importance to each role you play. Definitely an underrated title. I used to play this game daily on steam. Unfortunately I had to sell my pc to help with my move from state to state. But nevertheless, I still watch at least 2 videos of it daily. Hands down the greatest game to come out. If you have a PC capable of running this, PLEASE buy it and help support the community. You won’t regret it for a second!

These sim games are pretty cool. Best one I've seen as far as being close to military is arma 3. Reminded me of my deployment to Iraq. Especially with that idf. Shit will pack your lunch if it's a direct hit. Thank god the mortar teams we faced were shit and ran as soon as they popped a few rounds.

Australia and NZ go hard on squad. Always a few full servers with good ping, quality community too. 100% should get it man.

Question: Is there a reason he keeps calling the compass degrees "meters" like " o five zero meters" instead of "050 degrees and 100 meters" as shown on screen ? I mean they hit their targets but was wondering if it was the correct way to call it #daretoask
He's calling the distance not the direction. They get the direction from his marker.
Thats the compass indicator. Thats the bearing of your target. As for distance they judge it by looking at their map, each small square represents 33.3 sq meters, with a large one equalling 100 sq meters. They just call out the numbers individually because 1-5-0 is a lot easier to understand in a gunfight than "one hundred and fifty"
No FlawlessSin11 it's the distance. At 12:08 you can hear him say "range five zero Meters" while he is putting his marker down (for direction). It's simply faster this way and nobody has to count squares.
Jensinierer i think youre saying the same thing as i am, i was explaining to OP that the number on the compass is bearing, not range. i just went on to explain to him how the player was able to judge distances based on quickly looking at his map so he could tell his mortar support where to fire.
The OP asked why he was calling the bearing as "zero five zero meters" and if you watch 12:08 again you can clearly see the bearing is 063 not 050. So i just informed him that "zero five zero meters" just means 50 meters. When your squadlead places a marker in this game, every squadmate has a marker on his compass so you don't need to call any bearing anyway.
