Absolutely loving this show and hoping we get another season. So cool to get a weekly episode of a cooking show I can enjoy as a vegan. It’s making my morning!

I love the idea that it's about veganism but the writing is less than stellar and the production quality is not good. Plus, why call these home cooks (at best) "chefs"? It needs to grow and get better, and I am here for it.

I was thinking the same thing, this episode actually felt like a show because of her. She should host next season!
If this concept goes forward, she should be a regular judge on a panel of 2 or 3 with the occasional guest judge. The world needs more Catie.
EDIT: and the world needs to know that non-vegans are also welcome to eat and enjoy vegan food!
The judge getting teary eyed when sending home the loser is *so* vegan, and I love it. That. Show. Is. Fucking. Great. And I love that the language isn't censored! That's a minor detail that matters to me!
Censorship of curse words shouldn't be an issue. Not everybody likes hearing vulgar language. You can talk without swearing. 🤷🏼♀️
@@Momma_Tomma it’s also nice to hear people/experts talk completely unfiltered. Good ideas get lost if everyone has to consider the censorship and besides curse words are just regular language
RuPaul got teary her first season too, now she's 20+ seasons in, Chad is a naturally great host😊

Heat is not something that should be the make or break. Some people like spicy, some don't and what's spicy for one person is not for another.

Put a from-scratch hot sauce/chutney on the side and invite people to use it if the dish is not hot enough for them.
This show is very well made,,,production is tight,,,Chad is a great host, the contestants are awesome,,great dishes, no belittling of one another,,,,,,I am hooked on this show!
So cool to see a vegan cooking show!! Hope to see it succeed. Can I suggest to maybe tone down the intensity of the background music a bit in future iterations it’s a little distracting from the dialogue and is a bit too dramatic at times. Otherwise this is awesome! ☺️
Yes, I totally agree, I had to turn on the subtitles because the background music was overpowering the dialogue. Hope more seasons will come, because this is a show I have been waiting for. I can finally see a cooking show full of passion and be inspired to make something similar myself. Do you post the recipes somewhere, I would love them :)
also agree with the music being quite annoying and distracting but the show is great, I wish there were more veg cooking competitions

I did struggle to hear the dialogue sometimes, it’s as if the sound designer needs to dial back the background music when some of the people are talking. Not a huge deal but thought I would mention it

This is a commercial sized kitchen but only has one or two blenders in it? Last time someone said they couldn't find a spatula? Talk about not very well equipped.

They'll probably have those things more available in the second season since it did create an issue
I really liked the judge in this episode. Definitely the best episode so far. I hate spicy food so I do get tired of that criticism, to make things more hot.
Glad to see this series. Wish we could see more food close-ups, actual chopping & blending & cooking; less non-food shots. Please.

There's being helpful and there's being gushy, gushy over the top. This show brings out the latter.
@@maxineb9598 probably because that's how most people act around people they don't know! less scripted shows are a lot like that, I think a camera being in everyone's face adds to it bc nobody wants to be the most hated one in the show
Stumbled across this a few days ago. I’m am loving it! I enjoy watching cooking competitions, but there not any vegan ones. There was one called It’s Compiplated, but I don’t think it’s on anymore. Please do a season 2!!

These judges really like the heat in their food. I always cook mild and would fail lol,.

Amazing show, so happy to have this to watch. Unfortunately the music takes me out of it, it is so loud and overpowering during the critiques and conversational bits :/
The clapping takes me out of the show. I totally appreciate a vegan cooking show and I'm grateful for it, but to nitpick, and it's a cultural thing I think, I'm not accustomed to US media and I don't resonate with some things, like bringing in the money aspect and clapping.
I do like this show but we need to chill out with the dramatic background music.It’s distracting.

@@brainiergeckogaming1625t 3:38, he asked her if she just needed the motor and the lid, and she said yes…so I guess he assumed he would still have his sauce in the container part… I think personally (if I remembered) I would just pour out the contents on the blender in a bowl or something when I’m done since the equipment is shared. But when you’re in the moment, it probably doesn’t cross your mind to do that and that something like that incident would happen
This was so weird. He clearly says he’s done with the blender and she’s free to use it. So to me if you are done with something, you clear it out. Also, who uses just the motor and lid of something. What?
I love this show but the music is too loud when they are judging the dishes, it’s really off putting, but I watched it all because it’s the only vegan competition show available and it’s so nice to see it

This show NEEDS more sponsors, it is far to good to not have more resources. 😄 Loved Catie as judge, they should pair up for next season (and have guest judges).
Would be great if the food and cooking could get some screen time.

Great show, but the background music is too loud and distracting and makes it hard to focus on what people are saying.
My new favorite show!
1. Spice level being this large a factor is not an exclusive indicator of good taste profile in food.
2. Only one blender in a kitchen with this many chefs seems rather limiting.
3. Christian hogging the blender and being mad at Rhea when he didn’t empty it after he said he was finished; selfish.

Why would he call across the room to let her know she could use the blender and that he was DONE with it for now.... just to be like WHY DID YOU TAKE THE BLENDER?!!!!
Why would she deny taking his sauce when she totally did though as well. Even if he said she could use the blender she should have asked if he needed the sauce in it.

I'd do my raw vegan athletic lunch. I hope that they do benot boxes as an episode (who knows - might be pre-planned though. Maybe season 2).
I'm liking the show a lot, my partner too! The music needs to go though, please and thank you. I think the Great British Bakeoff comment on episode 1 is spot on. Don't try to copy the cutthroat cooking shows, but the more gentle ones!
