NeoGeo would've done better if it wasn't so expensive back in the day. I think SNK should do compilations of their classic fighting game series on PS5, XSX, Switch, and PC.
i always thought that sega genesis/mega drive had the best packaging for a video game, ever: the sturdy clamshell case, the cartridge size, and also the label art to cartridge ratio (it feels like collecting trading cards!). i am partial to the japanese mega drive version due to its many full-frame artworks, and i also like its curved top.

I might be wrong but I feel Japanese are just getting into the retro scene in a bigger way because they have been exposed to these recycle shops since the 1990's seeing these games day in and day out. True lies reaching $400 is because the MD was not in favor in Japan at the time of release and less copies were circulated. Its cheaper on Genesis. The Castlevania on MD is also a very expensive game on the Japanese market compared to the west.
ive been ordering like a kid in a candy store from surugaya online when they have free shipping weekends, ive gotten 4 packages..prices are hella fair. Also got some sweet import laserdiscs, they are in english audio but have japanese subtitles..so much cheaper than the USA counterparts and unless its marked as junk, alot of their stuff is in really nice shape. I got a junk saturn yellowed for #21, just needed a 2032 battery, and needs some cleaning inside..thing fired up and worked no issues. Also might need a retro brighting attempt when i get enough hydroperox
yeah selection is semi limited tho and searching to find stuff can be a pain cause of the english/japanese translation search terms may not match up@@4amLaundry

Yeah some people told me Surugaya has an online store that ships internationally. Hard Off too but they only shop in Japan.
