That's where the friendship between the Philippines and South Korea began. The Philippines helped Korea a lot, not only in the war but also in helping their country grow economically and gain independence. so for us Filipinos, it hurts to think that other Koreans are belittling and mocking the people of the Philippines for that's all. My grandfather was one of those who died in the Korean war.

battle of yultong is impressive but there are lesser known battles in the Korean War that is so intense the rifles and machine guns are already malfunctioning because of overheating and are already engaged hand to hand combat. The officer in the position is already requesting for fire in position because the enemy is so close they are almost overrunned. Their commanding officer refused the request instead ordered the artillery to fire around their position. The embattled unit was able to survive and hold the position.

My uncle...a veteran of PEFTOK (Philippine expeditionary force to Korea) during that Korean war told us the truth behind the story of 10th BCT...that they were half-frozen by very bad winter that widthraw or retreat is almost impossible that they were forced to stand ground and fight to the death until relieved or reinforcement arrived. Then he laughed... maybe it's a joke. May his soul rest in peace.

🇵🇭👉 The "Battle of Yultong" showed the world how Filipinos can fight on foreign land. *How much more if they have to fight for their nation on their own soil?* Now, battle hardened by years of fighting insurgency wars and _with what is happening in the South China Sea,_ *the Philippines could be China's Vietnam.* 👈🇵🇭

@@marbygerodias3966 I see your point but it doesn't negate the fact that troops alone can't win this war without U.S air superiority.
Combined arms warfare is not new, I have decent understanding how it works. This is why the allied forces were so much ahead of the NoKor at that time. We (Filipinos) through PEFTOK were only one contingent of the overall effort.

Coincidentally, the Battle of Yutong was also written by Filipinos.
