My wife asked me for this song as it sounds off for what I usually listen to (metal, rap) and the electronic vibes catched her curiosity. I mansplained the hell out of her characterizing the setup of Portal, the fact that it is way post apocalyptic and you are stuck with AI underground, and that the techno whistling in the track is a companion cube trying to cheer Chell up in the absolute despairity of her situation. She was extremely appaled by the concept and wished for a series to come out of it as she doesnt like gaming that much. Only the best fiction needs just words and sounds to trigger something in you, it was so nice to watch that happen in real time (she even got emotional with the whole absolute loneliness trait of the series)

I spent about 10 minutes with the cube crying over this when I played Portal 2 again recently.
