You can miss one phone call in Virginia and get violated. The system is pathetic.

The meetings aren't scheduled they're random times and days of the week. People without transportation are a violation waiting to happen. Set for failure sadly!

With all the senseless violence and crime that's going on ,the last thing we need too be hearing is about a rapper talking about criminal reform ....,criminals belong in prison and preferably too stay in prison for a long time until he get old and tired .

It’s to think that way until it’s you or someone you care about who’s been unjustly imprisoned. Then it’s not so black and white. Hopefully you’ll never have to experience that.

In Milwaukee all you need is an allegation no police contact and they will railroad you back . The president needs to move quickly and make changes. due to the lack of participation of guards they are locked in like animals. Making them more arrogant and empty this is a cruel society and somebody has to pay for the wrong they have done!

They need to get rid of these bars and have it more modernize this is 2023 , you have money to allow immigrants but can’t keep citizens from returning to prison for false allegations and like he said missing a date.

I'd like to see more ads. Two or three before the video just isn't enough. How about placing the video inside a small box that airs in the background of the ad? Then we'd never again have to sit and not get bombarded with ads.

I wish Rico would've actually stated why he was unable to make it to five meetings.
Missing five meetings seems like quite a few to me. Did he call and tell his parole officer that he had no ride or that he had been sick ? ......or anything?
You can't just not go or stop going or you'll end up with the swat team at your door, obviously.

I understand your point, but I think it’s ridiculous to receive a longer sentence than when you initially committed a crime, simply because you missed meetings. Especially if this was the only violation.
Perhaps different standards need to be applied to those on parole. With that being said, I think receiving a harsher sentence for missing meetings, rather than failing a drug test or committing assault, is ultimately counterproductive and to the detriment of the reformation of previous offenders, and the people who rely on them.

Well damn, you missed 5 meetings!! C'mon dude. It's simple, if you value your FREEDOM, then SHOW UP and be On Time!!

    • @MAMBA187
      @MAMBA187 9 месяцев назад

Since he had no other violations (failed drug tests, committed assault, selling illicit substances, etc.), don’t you think that his freedom was being violated? Yes, was a previous offender. But, he served his time and never violated the law post-release. And yet he was given a harsher sentence than when he committed the offense he was on parole for.
You’re right about needing to show up for meetings. But I don’t believe a person should receive a harsher punishment due to poor attendance. If anything, it’s counterproductive to the whole idea of having a parole system in the first place.

Recco oh please you know you had to go see your p.o and clearly who cares how the police came and got you violation for probation is a violation and this about there should be programs for people who is late for p.o meetings it's like you want to make the decision for how the system should run what about the ones who weren't late to see their P.O how's that fair to them

It really says a lot about Meek as a man. Before his false imprisonment, he was living a lavish and luxurious lifestyle. He was living a life that is quite literally unimaginable for the vast majority of people. But then he was falsely imprisoned, having not only that lifestyle snatched away, but also being forcefully taken away from his family. After his situation was resolved, he could’ve continued living as he did before. His reputation in the music industry wasn’t tarnished, as millions of fans were anticipating new releases. Instead, he wanted to do what he could to reform the prison system. It’s very admirable what he’s doing, and hopefully others will follow in his footsteps.

Hi !! I am Isac Quincy Brown. As a product of police turning off the camera, I've been in prison now for the last 29 years. I aim to use my losses to give teens better choices than prison. Prosecutor's expert witnesses said I have no DNA, no fingerprints, no firearms, no ATM video, and of the 14hrs. 28mins. interrogation, no video footage of that. I am innocent, this is my first arrest, and I'm currently barred from submitting any motions to the court, making my time a death sentence. Please use my situation to change the hearts of troubled youth, as they, nor their families need to feel my pain. I also ask, what can I do to get a TV news station or show interview, so I can respectfully, warn today's youth not to glorify lock up, and, tell them what I wish the streets would have told me. Thank you. Sincerely, Isac Quincy Brown.

They aren’t being imprisoned for repeat offenses, they’re being imprisoned due to complications and violations in their paroles. In this clip, the man being interviewed missed 5 meetings (which I’m not saying is ok) and was sent to prison with a sentence longer than when he committed the crime he was put on parole for. And there are many other cases (like with Meek Mill) where the violations are extremely minor or outright false. The parole system is extremely flawed, and it is in way too many cases directly responsible for the imprisonment of otherwise innocent people, rather than assisting in the rehabilitation of recently released convicts.

Philadelphia! 💜 Commendable effort award to Reform and M.M with regard allocation of resources to the time spent with the children and the aims toward reform programs for those releasable. 'You visited me in prison...' It is important not to forget that people sometimes do deserve a second chance, not everybody does, but often times that much can be said. Thank God, for all the good work.
