I’m not sure where you are from I am from Australia 🇦🇺 but my dad is a retired fireman too. He was one for over 30years. My uncle is still in. It is such a beautiful gesture and would have made their day. I hope someone also did that for Larry and his colleagues when he was an officer 💕😍

You can always pack up your seasonal ones For the season so they don’t take up space in the cabinet but you get to keep them! I have a seasonal bin for each holiday and all the mugs go in their designated bin for the season! Then each season the kitchen cabinet only has the correlating season mugs!

Honestly, the only two RUclips vloggers I follow are Mindy and Laci Fay. They both use great music. They show similar content especially hauls from thrift stores which is great. They both love cats. Both offer great vibes.
Your Harry Potter mugs and seasonal mugs that you don’t want to get rid of(and don’t want to use), you can use them for decor. Put little flowers in them or ribbon and put them on your shelves etc

I collected too many coffee mugs at one point, as well. Then I finally told myself I can keep one of each category that I like. I can keep one HP mug, one Star Wars mug, one owl mug, one Disney mug and one Starbucks mug. It was tough, but it’s nice just now using my very favorites all the time now.

Some of my extra mugs I use for plants, candy, pens, Etc. I also am a mug lover, my mom was ! This may seem WEIRD, but sometimes I buy two coffee cups...one for me and one for her. She has passed since 2001. I don't do it as often as I use to. But I also have to ever now and then, go through them. I do have a tote that I keep some extra in.

Are the shelves in your cabinet adjustable? Maybe you can buy take a shelf from a different cabinet (or cut a new shelf) so you have an addition level. I’d move all the shelves down just a peg or two, and then you can fit in one more shelf at the top. Also I think it’s totally acceptable to giveaway used mugs :) it’s better they go to a home that wants them, and like you should do with any dishes, whether used or new, just give them an extra wash before use :)
You should turn the mug upside down when you use it and put it back in the cabinet. That way, you’ll know which ones are your favorite and use the ones that are still turned right side up the next day/week. :)

Just an idea but if you can find a shelf to hang on the wall to put your mugs in to display all year around it will save space! My friend has one...she collects owl mugs but she switches them out for the holidays! Her shelf can display about 12 mugs maybe more!

My suggestion with the mugs is to have a display shelf or something so you can keep a more ordered cabinet but not get rid of all these mugs you obviously love and be able to actually see them.

I would say ...put all the mugs you don't use all the time but have a sentimental value in a plastic bin and store away in the garage and switch them out during the year with the ones you do use so that way they all get used 😁

Put your mugs in little cubby boxes and pull out a different cubby each month and only use those mugs. Kind of like when you swap out kids toys
