- NATALIE BASSINGTHWAIGHTE plays ROXIE HART in the Australian production of CHICAGO.
"A true New York City Institution, CHICAGO has everything that makes Broadway great: a universal tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz; one show-stopping song after another; and the slickest dancing in town. Created by the musical theatre talents of John Kander, Fred Ebb and legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, CHICAGO’s sexy, sassy score includes “All That Jazz” and “Razzle Dazzle”.
No wonder CHICAGO has been honoured with 6 Tony Awards®, 2 Olivier Awards, a Grammy® and thousands of standing ovations. It would be a crime to miss it!"

This is EXACTLY how Roxie should be played. A woman who truly can kill someone and feel no remorse but rather an opportunity for fame. Too many people try to make her seem like an innocent little girl that’s naive, it’s a fine way to play to it, but in real life this kind of person would be actually so crazy.
Truely loved Natalie Bassingthwaighte's "Roxie", soo good!
True :-) She sings really strange. But her acting is crazy, I love it :-)

She is amazing!
agree! brilliant casting!
I love this so much. I saw Nat play Roxie last year when I saw the musical. I’m a bit sad that Casey wasn’t there too to play Mama, but whoever played Mama did a great job :)
The monologue she did at the beginning of this song was so good. Her singing and dancing was kinda strange but her acting was incredible (I saw her live recently)
oh, I saw her on opening night in Sydney and was blown away
@@letmeentertainyou_ She was still good and, to be fair, everyone was pretty far into the run by the time I saw it. I would have loved to have seen it on opening night because her singing probably would have been a bit stronger. I still really enjoyed her performance though! As I said, her acting was amazing and probably the best in the entire lead cast.
Downstage Right yeah I kinda agree her dances wasn’t as good the other female lead (I forgot Velma’s actress) but her dances was still good and yeah her singing isn’t my favourite for Roxie but I loved her acting she did a good job with the role. Like when I saw her I did notice only cause I do acting I notice little mistakes, there was a sense, keep in mind I’m 4 rows from the front, her stockings get a big hole in it, I did notice her hide it but honest it wasn’t noticeable like my mum had no idea since she kept delving her lines amazing, another show I saw at the start of a dance number a parasol broke inside out and the actress in the ensemble didn’t run off stage but kinda went off for a minute or so and that’s more noticeable and I would just say the actress didn’t handle it the best but still either way sometimes people panic. I was standing on stage not long ago and I realised I shouldn’t been closer to the ground at a part when a person said their lines, I half panicked and went to the ground too hard and had a big bruise on my knee a week or so. Or even a few years back a girl fainted on stage and I had to block her while side stage helped her. That’s theatre for ya
i saw her live as well, she's amazing!
She’s so cute ❤️
Isn't she!!! I think she embodies Roxie brilliantly!
