Hi, Jay and Jen. It was very interesting to see the technology of making maple syrup. It’s a very long process, but the result is amazing. 😍👍 Best wishes to you.
We are done with sugaring here in NYS by two weeks. We do 3 trees and that is enough for my children and ourselves. It is a great hobby for a retired person in late winter/early spring.
That's awesome you guys make what you use.....we are kind of going over board this time to see what works. Think we will be gifting some syrup this year. Tapped 15 trees and spending a lot of time boiling. Lol. Our season is finally wrapping up here now. Best wishes
Loved the video Jay as usual, its always nice to hang out with you both at the cabin, stay well you two and Timber look forward to seeing you next time..
Thanks Kevin....glad you are here with Me. Excited to get working on some more exciting projects soon. The snow has made getting materials to the property a challenge. Soon....very soon.
Wow Jay I bet you are worn out holy cow that was a ton of work to make that much syrup. It sure is beautiful for sure. Jen you did a lot as well lining everything up for Jay and helping out a lot. The two of you are what is called a great example of a hard working couple for sure. God's blessings to you both and the syrup looks beautiful.
Nice job guys, looks like you had a great harvest. The weather here is not cooperating for our sap run. Highs in the 30’s next 5 days just doesn’t cut it. At least I have next years firewood done.
I hear you my friends. This batch was almost two weeks in the making. Hence the over flowing half frozen buckets of sap. Hoping to get one more run then move on to building. Lol. But getting materials to the job site has been difficult
Great job Jay, Have you ever had hard boiled maple flavored eggs. When you are out there waiting on the sap to boil take a dozen eggs and put them in the sap until they get hard boiled. You will enjoy the flavor of them.
So satisfying! Funny this one came up as the next to view when we're doing maple syrup now as we speak! Still boiling in our big vat but hope to finish some this week!
More snow, come on already 😶🌫️. At least all your hard work will be enjoyed this spring. How is the wood stock for the stoves, you guys still stacked up pretty good? Wow…you guys got your own little syrup factory happening! I can’t believe how full your pails were Jay. How long does the sap take to fill them up? That was an all day event but I’m sure worth it. Have you ever made sugar before? Good job👏
Lots of work for sure. The buckets took over a week to get full like that, but the weather was off and on so it is hard to gauge how fast they fill. I have not made sugar before. Maybe give it a shot if we get another batch this year
wow look at how full the buckets are. that first batch must have been really good. I know it takes alot to make a little. and if Jen makes banana bread or even zucchini bread you can use that in the bread and not so much of the white sugar while that's how I make it. Jay you got an early start hopefully you can get most of it done in one day. I so wish I was there to help I would really like to taste the end result. have a good week.
