4 months sober, I’ll never drink again. The damage done to the people I love, to myself, only by the grace of God did I not hurt myself or someone else, or worse. And it was God that took away my desire to drink literally over night. Night of my birthday, May 1st, drunk again of course, stomach on fire, blood in my crap, dropped to my knees and admitted to God I needed His help and that I want to quit but that I wasn’t strong enough to do it on my own. The next day I had zero desire to ever drink again. I’m not religious, you don’t have to be, God doesn’t care, He loves you no matter what and only wants you to know it and for you to allow Him to heal you. Talking to a friend, an alcoholic, this after I had quit drinking, I was trying to help him and we got on the subject of God. I’ll preface this by saying that at this point I hadn’t REALLY given God the credit. Anyways we got on the subject of God and I said “God is like a father figure who’s expectations you can never live up to.”. At that very moment I heard a voice say “That’s not true! I love you no matter what.”. The love I was feeling in that moment, there are no words and I just broke down crying tears of joy. More was said, he consoled me saying it was Ok, I love you. Told me to tell people what had happened, my story and how God is real he does love you as a father with unconditional love, absolute forgiveness. The expectations are simple, Love yourself, love your family and neighbors, the rest will fall into place. If you are still drinking and TRULY wan’t to quit, please ask God for help. God bless all of you.

I recently got married at 25 and my wife asked me to stop drinking and I did and I most definitely miss it I came from a line of drunk and drug addict parents and and a mental and physical abuse relationship with them as a kid and this hits home no one really knows what one song can do to someone I heard this at work and just started to break down all I use to do is drunk drive it made my nights barrable and I'm glad I can say I'm taking it slow day by day who ever reads this your a king and or queen 👑 and u got this

Same brother. Married at 33 and the night of our wedding I got too drunk and apparently tried to fight someone that was just trying to buy us a shot back at our hotel bar and then ended up getting in a fight at the room cause of my alcohol abuse. She asked me to stop and I did finally- I think about how I ruined her one of a kind special day every single day… we gotta be better brother. Gotta break that generational curse and set a better example for our kids.
I lost my love a few months ago and this was one of his songs he would play in his drinking stupors. This hits my soul harder than anything. Please love them while they're here.

I'm 16 and a couple months ago I lost one of my best friends of 10 years. He crashed his car and drinking was definitely a factor. This song definetley hits hard for me and my other friends.
I'm so sorry for your loss. The hurt will never go away but hopefully it won't be as painful, or as often, as you continue to heal. If you or any of your friends were on the same path as him, I hope this unfortunate tragedy helped you realize you deserve a better life and a long one. Maybe it can even help you or one of them want to help others because of this.

I can definitely relate to this song and your comment for sure! Alcohol, as with any addiction, is a very hard habit to just say, “I’m done and that’s that!” YOU really have to want to quit and change your life for the better and it can be a daily struggle sometimes, it definitely was for me! I couldn’t even begin to count how many times I’ve driven drunk and had blacked out and don’t even remember how I didn’t kill someone or myself but I did have a couple of really bad wrecks and spent a ton of money for Attorney fees, court costs, losing my drivers license for 10 years after having 5 DUI’s but most of them were dropped but still, what a waste of money and time and doing jail time on my days off and it sucked! I’m a hellava lot older now and the thought of drinking alcohol makes me sick to my stomach so bad but that’s a good thing! Hang in there and have FAITH in yourself that you can and will overcome this phase in your life! Peace, Love, and Light ❣️💯❣️

Last Summer I was driving around one weekend enjoying the new vehicle I'd recently purchased, my windows were rolled down and I was stopped at a red light. A younger than myself gal was beside me blasting this song at top volume. I must say, it grabbed me and held tight! Luckily I had enough time to grab my phone and Shazam it before we proceeded through the green light. It has become a favorite Feels Song of mine. Although I am 25 years Clean & Sober, I know the Pain! I have Been There & I Have also Done That!

The song really isn’t about being a “drunk”, it’s about engaging in self-destructive behavior in suicidal and severely depressed individuals. Unfortunately alcohol abuse is a common and shared experience for many in this state, it’s still applicable regardless of whether you abuse booze or not.

My daughter lost her daddy when she was 10 because he was drunk driving. No matter what you're going through, you'll hurt more people than the peace you'll find. We lived it... and not a single life event goes by that he's not missed, thought about and it opens the wound all over again. This song is something else… February 16 2018, my life changed hit another car while speeding. Blew a .28, on a suspended licenses. Failed drug tests on probation. Got an alcohol monitor put on me. The day it came off the first thing I did was have a drink. That day ruined my life. Still dealing with it three years later. Not sure if I can’t help it or don’t want to be helped.

After a breakup my drinking became a real problem. Saw my ex at a party and got drunk enough to be able to deal with it, wrecked driving home and I'm very lucky to have walked out with only scratches. The real irony is my drinking problem caused by my last breakup was what led me to my most recent one. Things really do come full circle you guys.

Been drinkin everyday for almost 10 years now, I'm 29 years old, I dont even drink cause I like it, I drink to not get the shakes, the sweats, seizures, panic attacks and all that stuff that comes when ya stop. I finally got insurance at my new job and I'm gonna see if my insurance covers rehab cause I cant just stop cold turkey I tried 3 times and had seizures everytime. I'm gonna give this a shot (no pun intended lol) I'm ready to change now lord if you hear me I've never lost faith in you and please forgive me

My best freind passed away due to drunk driving. There was so much going wrong that i didn't know about.we had this thing where we could tell if each other where upset or depressed.we would do anything to cheer each other up. I generally miss that. I miss fixing cars with him. I miss feeling okay.i miss the partys and bonfires. Its only been a year and some months and its so hard to keep moving on without you bro. I feel so lost without ur smiling face there to help me through my depression.
