I think depende sa preference ng isang tao, like most people want to learn Thai because they got inspired by the Thai series/movies they watched (and also to be able to understand without reading the subtitle) that's why they want to visit or even work in here in Thailand to experience the Culture, the food, etc. It will also open a lot of opportunities like it will be much easier to find a job but it doesn't guarantee that you will earn more because I know some teachers na di naman sila marunong mag Thai but they earn more dahil high level teachers na sila. Pero they don't have a choice but to learn some basic Thais for their day to day life kase ang hirap mamuhay sa foreign country kapag di kayo magkaintindihan. Sure malaki yung rate ng other asian countries you mentioned, but in Thailand kase we don't have to deal racism and toxic gaya ng Korea, friendly and warm ang mga Thais sa mga tourist and expats di kaya ng mga Japanese, and very low cost of living dito unlike sa Singapore.
