- The Boys finally go to the Gulf of Carpentaria! They finish off the last few kilometres of tar before putting the Landcruiser and New Next Gen Ranger into 4WD and exploring the salt pans and soft sandy beaches. It's time to launch the boat; as usual, they're bogged... Can they get it out and go fishing for a barramundi dinner before the sun goes down?

Some great content! Reminds me of All 4 Adventure in its heyday, when it was about blokes having fun while filming it! Bit late to the party but Notac Rooza would have been a good name for the Ranger.

That gulf sure is soft! Did the same, ditch the Trailer, get the 79 out, then winch the Trailer out. Lot less stressful!

Yeh like quick sand where the trailer was. Winch was the next option if the tracks didn’t work.

DD station, cracking spot out there! 126km of coastal frontage! No shortage of water, or pigs that’s for sure!
Yeh ripper spot. Didn't venture too far from the beaten track so didn't see any pigs though..
I've recently just got myself a Oz trail camp stretcher with built in Mossie net best think ever with just a sleeping bag and off the ground

Do you know what that chatter is when you put the clutch in when the 79 is under load in low range, Mine does too but I don’t know specifically what it is?

Not 100% sure but assume it’s all the slack in the drive train releasing after it’s been under load. Pretty sure they all do it
I know it more shit to drag around but a extra trailer to put a 500 Honda quad 4x4 ,just to launch the boat,save wear tear on your car ,then you could set camp up back of the beach,and let the quad do rest.good video.
We’d love to take a couple of quads!!
Don’t think a quad would have worked here though… trailer sunk in quicksand up to the guards and wasn’t budging.

Noticed the rangers uhf made a slight buzz sound. My xrs and ranger do the same ! Have you noticed or found a way to fix it ? Cheers
Marc had only just had the UHF, bulbar lift and tyres installed a few days before leaving and we noticed the noise as soon as we used it. He took it back to the 4wd shop that had installed it and they re-routed the cable and it has fixed the problem. We assume it was next to some electrical component that caused interference but we are not sure which one exactly.

Sorry to hear mate… You would love it out there. Similar to penne on the southern side but fishing wasn’t great for us. Northern camp isn’t as nice (mangroves and sand flies) but the fishing was better.
Thanks it was sad for his fam and all who knew him well, Ok sounds awesome I mite check it out after I spend 6 to 8 weeks at penny first, this year in April or May@@TrueNorthAdventures

We are pretty limited by space, unfortunately.... We have all downgraded our double swags to single swags because we can't fit them.

Plenty of options left before we were in lots of trouble but it was definitely the most bogged we've ever had the boat trailer. Lucky the sand above the water line was reasonably firm.

What suspension are you running
It’s an outback armour 2” lift.
Really happy with it. Great on and off-road and heaps of clearance for bigger tyres. It lifted it about 3” but will probably settle a bit over time we would think.
