Hey guys love watching your videos, you should probably check out whale watching in Manabi province since now and the following months is humpback whale watching season , it should not cost more than 25$ per person , the most famous place is puerto Lopez (about an hour from where I live) you should check it out 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Chimbo, Chimbo, Chimbo!!! Great video. I rode a motorcycle on that road on a moto tour around Ecuador. Got a flat on top of Chimbo with the Vicuña watching. Thank goodness for Sylvain with the support truck to get me back down, to Baños. #ecuadorisallyouneed.
Hola Amigos felicitaciones que hermosa experiencia que llevan de Ecuador al subir al Vulcan chimborazo sigan así disfrutando de sus vidas saludi s desde Manta un Abrazo
It's amazing how microclimates work in Ecuador even at similar elevations. In Chimborazo at 4800m there is only barren rock, but in Cayambe and Antisana at 4500-4600 there's already glaciers, and at 4800m everything is completely covered with them, but I can see it's not the case for Chimborazo and Cotopaxi. Maybe there's some factor that makes Cayambe and Antisana colder, maybe its their proximity to the Amazon, or the fact that they are closer to the equator, or the wind may be stronger, I don't know, but the thing is, these two volcanoes have the largest glaciers in Ecuador.
Awesome, I just got back from driving around Ecuador with my mountain bike. I mountain biked around Cotopaxi Nacional park up to 13300ft , it was so hard but so amazing.
Great video of Chimborazo! I made the same hike up 2 years ago, sans the bike ride down. As an FYI, the memorial stones are for people that have climbed to the summit. My Ecuadorian friends grandfather is on one of the plaques. Also, my friend is an archeologist and Chimborazo is her study area and wrote her dissertation for her PhD on the area. She is bilingual (Spanish/English) and I’m sure she would be happy to assist you with anything Ecuador.
Yes, I was on Cayambe last weak and the wind and snow was so strong you couldn't even stare at the glacier because the snow would hit you so hard it would hurt your eyes and face, and that was at 4500m (winds where around 50 - 60km/h) Anyway, if you are lucky and have nice weather then it wouldn't be that big of an issue outside the sun, but since you would climb it during the morning when the sun is weaker I think I wouldn't be that big of an issue.
Great video of your adventure to Chimborazo. I totally enjoyed the whole video. I stayed at Hosteria La Andaluza in Riobamba, Ecuador. My guide wanted to take to the refugio, but I told him that I had a stroke and that I could have another one if I were to go anywhere near that humongous volcano!
Omg, you guys crack me up!!! “I can’t move my head or I’ll faint!” -> so true! We were totally delirious at altitude! So little oxygen up there… we felt drunk! So happy you guys did this! Honestly this was our FAVOURITE biking adventure in all of Ecuador as well!!! The vicuñas are so cute!!! So brave to do the little hike at the top! Glad you survived! Lol Loved this video!!!! But seriously, where are the hotdogs? 🤣
Hey Guys, Thank You for another Great video! That was Beautiful! I have been to Ecuador a few times, but never to chimborosso, maybe on the next trip. But no downhill bicycles, very scary.
Nice video. It brings back memories of going there way back in 1983. We were in Riobamba and when we got up in the morning found the mountain completely clear of cloud cover. Locals told us this was very rare, so we hired a taxi driver to drive us up there (very limited tourist services back then). We were the only people there and the ice cover was still thick enough to slid down the hill on our butts, which really entertained our driver, who had never been up the mountain. The sun is amazingly strong. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
Hello guys, what a beautiful adventure in Chimborazo that you have lived ... You are young and that is why you have that physical resistance to be able to climb to 5000 meters above sea level and then ride a bicycle for a few kilometers, wow !!! I couldn't do that at 63 years old and with high blood pressure ... Your experiences are so real that even I end up tired ... Your work makes me happy with respect to my country because you are so natural and friendly ... I'll see you guys!
Another great video Boms Away, Did you guys know that there is a Cimborazo Park in Richmond, Virginia, USA? Also, there was a Chimborazo Hospital, in the same location, that was used to treat injured troops during the American Civil war? The Park was supposedly named after the Chimborazo volcano by Alexander Von Humboldt. Saludos and stay safe.
Great video!! Brings back memories. My wife and I were on Chimborazo in May of this year. It was clear and beautiful!! If you love nature ..WOW! I am 71 and was only able to get to 16,200 feet. Altitude is tough!! Didn't do the bike ride which looks great. Keep posting...love it! Regards...Larry
My wife and I made the same trip in January 2016. You had a lot more snow on your hike, which was great to see. The hike kicked my butt. I was wondering, did you try the coca tea at the warming hut? It didn't cure my altitude sickness. I biked alone on the return, and my guide would meet me at points where the trail crossed the main road in and out of Chimborazo. A portion of the trail went through a relatively isolated valley, which contained archaeological ruins. The guide drove up into the valley to meet me and pointed out the perimeter wall of an Incan farming community and showed me a spring where carbonated water flowed out of the ground. Chimborazo is a charmed place. I feel fortunate to have visited and I bet the farmers who lived in that beautiful little valley back in the day felt the same. So, do both... the hiking and the biking, but don't skip the biking!
Oh very cool! Thanks for sharing your experience. The hike short but so hard with the altitude! The huts were actually closed because of Covid so no coca tea for us. The biking down is a MUST. Such an unforgettable experience!!
i Congratuletions ! God Bless you.
Thank you for showing the world the best places of my beautiful country "now it's your country"😉 I am happy to have found you on RUclips, the families of my daughters-in-law are from the United States and from Tawain, and with these videos in English, "I hope" you are encouraged to visit and learn a little more about the culture of Ecuador. Saludos desde la Florida Have fun
Great video. My next goal in my life is to reach 17.000 feet. Chimborazo seems the place where I can do it. In 2019 went up to Cotopaxi and reached 16.350 feet. Keep enjoying life, the adventurous way.
Finally I watch I guess 4 videos 🤣😂 You guys are amazing! There are other places around Riobamba to visit, also you can go to El Puyo, Pastaza (Amazonia) too just crossing the mountains. I hope you go there. My family history said that my great grandfather was one of the first to have sugar cane plantation there and my grandfather was born in Riobamba. I got nostalgic now, I wish I can be there one more time in my life. Keep enjoying the wonders of Ecuador. 💙💙💙💙💙
Hi guys! Very beautiful video. It was risky to ride the bikes down the mountain. 😳 Thank you for sharing all these wonderful videos of Ecuador! ❤️☺️ We love to watch you guys. You’re so fun.
First video I have ever seen from you guys. Great work and keep yourselves safe please. The world is treacherous and unpredictable so always be vigilant and not victims. I’m going now to watch more of your stuff. Buon Voyage. 🤙
I love you guys. I've been watching your videos since the beginning and it's amazing how you show us my country. Definitely you've explored every corner of Ecuador, but showing a different point of view. I'm waiting for your next video in Galapagos Islands. I'm sure you are enjoying so much. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
What an adventure. Love it!! Kenny and I were talking about spending some more time in Ecuador. We feel based on your videos that we missed so much. But we must come to the realization that we can see and do everything lol. Awesome video! Love- Gladys and Kenny
Ahh yes there are SO many amazing places in Ecuador… even we will miss a few! You should come back if you get the chance. But also we agree… there’s only so much you can see in so little time 😅
No you can go on your own! But you’d need to rent a car or have a taxi drive you to the top. And we wanted to bike down so doing a tour was the best option for us :)
Thanks for watching!! What would you rather do... the hiking or the biking on Chimborazo?
Hey guys love watching your videos, you should probably check out whale watching in Manabi province since now and the following months is humpback whale watching season , it should not cost more than 25$ per person , the most famous place is puerto Lopez (about an hour from where I live) you should check it out 🙌🏻🙌🏻
the hiking a hundred percent
If I had to choose one or the other, it would be hiking but would love doing either.
I’d rather hike or hike while eating a hotdog! Where are all the hotdogs?!?!?
But where?!

Oh very cool information! Thanks for sharing. We were very curious what the plaques were for.
So beautiful
It is important to wear sunglasses if you go to Chimborazo 🕶️
Of course, the air is strong and the sun will burn you for sure.

Are You serious? Your travel guide was named after the Great writer Jules Vern?
Did you even have to pedal coming downhill?
Haha barely! There was more pedalling the last half on the road through the towns... but never very hard :)
Pro Tip.. Never go to Chimborazo if you are hung over..
Hahaha definitely not a good idea 😂
Boms you need a Dron
Oh we have one... but can't always fly it!
Did you need to hire a guide?
