A year later I decided to complete my honours in Public Management whilst applying again for jobs in the public sector. I also tried informal businesses that did not sustain. Unfortunately for 8 years I was not successful in securing a job again, then the age limit affected me. I started with my masters but due to funding I could not complete. I will definitely get my CV checked, maybe it is the problem as I never received any form of feedback for all the applications I sent.

Hi Karabo, there is no formula really. Charge what you are comfortable with and as you work with brands you keep increasing. I still struggle with this also. Some brands make me feel like I over charge some accept what ever rate I put down.

Can you please do a video speaking to students/graduates on how to start of their careers in the Public Management/ International Relations/Political Science fields and other related degrees. Honestly i know a few students who are clueless where to start after graduating or even if they know they are just not landing the jobs they apply for which is sad cause the degree is not particularly bad.
There are honestly no jobs in that field. I studied IR and Sociology between 2012-2014 and graduated but had to pivot and do something else, and so did most of my classmates who studied the same thing. I know this question wasn’t directed to me but I would advise that those students must look at skills that are currently in demand and seek to fill those with the skills or studies they pursue. Your ‘passion’ doesn’t always have to be your career and make you money. Look at where the gaps are and seek to fill that.

It’s honestly not easy at all, I pulled off a car deal when I was at the last step. You have to constantly remind yourself of the kind of life you want, especially when it comes to your finances.
