If you dont have impact gun, you could tighter center nut by putting brakes on first, then screw few lug nuts in and ask somebody to press brakes, while you tighten center nut
Thx for this updated X5 front wheel bearing video. Like you said, you made that e70 change a lot harder than it had to be...but you were master here! I just asked on the e70 comments whether your $80 pair hubs had done ok? Like you, the noise I had wasn't worth $400 hubs...but how long did the your $80 set last ? (Incidentally, I paid 85 for my hubs...which also came with new axle nuts AND hub attachment bolts! (Maxrodspeeds (or close to that) Chinese brand. They came quickly , packaged well, and had nice marketing inserts...with pictures of the factory and HQ office building "3 million customers served". Hoping I got a lucky find.
Very excellent video! Thank you. But my car has a Rear wheel bearing gone out. Apparently the job is not the same and more difficult. I've looked everywhere on the web and there's no such thing as a REAR wheel bearing and hub assembly already pressed before hand. So I'm guessing........UG! lol.
I cross threaded a lug bolt so essentially the wheel is secured by only 4 bolts instead of five. X5 drives fine but for piece of mind I'd like it to be right. With your thorough vid I can get it done. Thank you for your contribution. Peace
Thanks for the video, it is very informative. I have a 3.0 f15 and noise/vibration is coming from my front driver side wheel and it is due to uneven wear on the inner side of the tire. I was wondering do you know if there is camber adjustment on the front wheels since i cant find any info in the service manual on it? I have 72k miles on my bmw. Thanks in advance.
So I found out there is two different bolts used for holding the bearing in. You need either a triple square 16mm bit or a T60. My 2016 X5 was the T60. Torque to 88 ft-lbs for the bearing bolts. The torque spec for the axel nut is 310 ft-lb. Hope this helps anyone that has a 2016 X5.
Thanks for the video on the X5. How many miles on it that required a new wheel bearing? I just did a transfer case fluid change on our F15 X5 (without dropping the support as shown in NEWTIS). How about doing a transmission drain & fill for us (me) and a front differential drain & fill. Newtis makes/shows it more complicated than or X3's. Also, be sure to check the (2) front firewall cavities for debris that may clog the drains. Mine got clogged & filled up & caused water in front passenger side foot well.
How did you measure the tightening torque given that you used an impact gun? I have the same Milwaukee gun and am concerned with over tightening since it delivers up to 1000 ft./lbs. of fastening torque.
Hey man I live in texas as well and drive the same car. I have a adaptive headlight malfunction Body control module code... can I code it out? I checked and the headlight and specific modules on the headlight have no issues...
Hey what year is your X5? Typically you can code that out. Which headlight is getting the error? Do you find that one of your headlights is aimed way to the left or right?
Man u just jump on those torx bolts im stupid afraid with stripping them idk what ive been doing wrong. I always make sure they seat correctly before i try turning them out and i swear ive messed up tons of tbolts on my 07 335i
Try to make sure you keep the head of the ratchet dead straight in relation to the bolt and try to apply pressure towards the bolt as you turn the ratchet.
For symptoms of diagnosis did the car by chance make this swooshing/rotational noise at high speeds by chance? I have this super loud rotational noise that happens every time I go above 70mph. Checked for rocks in heat shield and nothing, I cant figure out if its my Diff or a bad wheel bearing!!! Shit...might even be the driveshaft, no know can figure this out. I even took it to a dealer for a ppi to find the problem and they couldn't even find it!! Best way i could explain the noise is a Rotational noise once i hit 70mph so it has to be an axle, diff, driveshaft, ect. but no one can figure it out, SO ANNOYING
My wife doesn't drive the car a lot but yeah I typically do not recommend anyone buys the V8. The N55 is the better choice for the F15. As the problems start on the V8 I'll definitely film it.
@@VehicularDIY Can wait man, I'm surprised very little content exists on this platform. My intent is to buy the f15 w/n55 and pull hp as high as it can go. Do you plan on doing a tuning/exhaust or anything aesthetic to it?
Contrary to what the notes say above, these instructions DO NOT pertain to to sDrive X5s...only xDrive. The wheel bearing is completely different. There are no splines or axel nut visible from the front. A correct example can be found here: www.ebay.com/itm/Wheel-Hub-Bearing-Assembly-For-2014-2018-BMW-X5-RWD-sDrive35i-SUV-3-0L-4-4L/284007676359
WTF why do it need bearing in 4-5yrs? I watched so many BMW videos they need so much work. Glad I'm content with a honda accord. Oil change and your good. My friend had an X5 and it was in the shop every other month he paid 8k for extend warranty. Shop was 1hr away from his house. Why make life harder. The price for looking cool.
I think the weight of the V8 puts more stress on the front wheel be Bearings. I had a 6 cylinder X5 before this and they were still good at 100k miles.
Thanks for your great videos, just replaced the same part on my wife’s X5 in like 1.5 hrs thanks to your video !!!! Just saved $650 dlls !!!!
If you dont have impact gun, you could tighter center nut by putting brakes on first, then screw few lug nuts in and ask somebody to press brakes, while you tighten center nut
Thank you for very informative videos! Please keep doing them, there is not a lot of information about F15s so far.

It is a great video. Would you happen to have a video of the rear bearing done? Thanks.
Can you, please, make a video of changing the transmission fluid/filter for F15 xdrive (if the process any different from sdrive)

Perfect timing! I've got to do these on my e92 and this helps get a general idea of what to do. Thank you!
E92 x drives have press in style bearings in front

I think it would be possible to make some bigger threads in that specific hole and buy a bigger lug nut.
Thanks for the video. What are the specs on your auto wrench and impact wrench?
How did you stop the disc spinning when tightening the nut?
As always, very useful informations. You're awesome.
Did you notice anything wrong with the old ones that made you change them or was it a preventative maintenance kinda thing?
They were starting to make noise yeah.
On rwd if doing the front and its stuck make sure you wire the hub or zip tie so it doesnt land on your foot
Yeah it could easily go flying.
What are the symptoms and or noises?
Several have already asked but what's the rear bearing like to DIY? Is it similarly easy?
Is this the same for the F25 X3? 2011 thanks for the very informative video
Hi does anyone know the torque specs for the axle bolt on a g30/g31?
How do you know when to change them out?
First rate, Musa. I love my 2014 X50i F15.
Thanks you... Great upload! ✌️
Should I use a Bmw bearing or is aftermarket just as good?
How is yours doing / holding up?
Thanks
Is it the same process for the rear ones? And will the same front hubs work in rear ones?
Great question. I am looking forward that answer, too.
If you get any info would you let me know, please. Thank you.

Hai there, may I know what style is that rim? If you do mind.
What was that "grease" you applied to the bearing?
Are you doing the rear ones soon?
Can you tell me what size and type of bolts holding in the bearing itself? I can't hear in the video clearly what they are. Thank you!

What size is the puller?
SO i have a 2014 X6 ... it needs both fronts done... are they similar to this one? cause i cant seem to find a vid on mine on bitchute or here ...
hey chief,
how are the inexpensive wheel bearings online on your e70 wheel bearings video? are they working just fine? did you buy them from eBay?
Also curious??

I'd say about 100k miles unless they start getting noisy sooner.
Might need to borrow ur impact..
I was going to do my E53 today, but couldn’t!
E53 is different you have to have press the bearing it’s not bolt on like in this video
Lev Karpets
Yea I know, I watched the video. E53 is ridiculous hard though to remove the bearing
Yes years ago did mine I removed The knuckle and took the bearing with the market to local Napa and they pressed it in for 20 bucks
How did you measure the tightening torque given that you used an impact gun? I have the same Milwaukee gun and am concerned with over tightening since it delivers up to 1000 ft./lbs. of fastening torque.
You'd need an impact bar to set an exact torque via impact.
How many miles were on the car when you did the swap? We’re they making any noises or did you just feel like it was time ?
do you know if its the same procedure for 2011 e92 xdrive wheel bearings? let me know thanks
Unfortunately no the xi 3 series has pressed in hubs. It's more involved to replace.
Thanks👍
You can re-upload half of it as "How to replace ABS sensor". Auto Repair Guys would make 50 videos from this single procedure 😁
Lol very true. You'll also see a video like this dragged out to 10+ minutes to insert multiple adds.
What symptoms were you guys having that lead you to believe this was the problem?

Vehicular DIY it is a 2014 f15 3.0T m sport it has xenon not laser. And it’s driver side. And no they both point straight
hi bosschief,
this seems smoother than the 1st video you had :)
now im wondering if this will apply to 2007 X5 3.0 ?
is the mechanical the same?
Thanks man😊

Awesome video. Is that a 1/4” or 3/8” Milwaukee ratchet? I’m approaching 100k on my e91 so this DIY will help big time. Thanks for posting!
Thanks! The ratchet is a 3/8" Milwaukee. It's pretty awesome.
Thank you!!

I have to do this on my car I have 2 stripped lugs
Do you take email questions troubleshooting “SERVICE ENGINE SOON”
I'll lookout for an email from you. You can find that info on the contact section of my channel.
Irrelevant question: Are you worried about the longevity/reliability of the motor?
My wife doesn't drive the car a lot but yeah I typically do not recommend anyone buys the V8. The N55 is the better choice for the F15. As the problems start on the V8 I'll definitely film it.

Omg it just boots on instead of pressing sht into a knuckle like usual. This is cheaper than my subaru for once
Dude your video saved me from a heart attack.
I damaged My wheels bearing using the same exact gun , and 2 days later starts making humming noise never again , You need to torque it

@@machtschnell7452 Yea like the average person with a X5 does. lmao
*1st rule of car diy is protective clothing ....flip flops are a NO NO !😐*
You all be careful, because these could be TP60 bolts and not T60
