I am almost very sure she saw the red flags but still wanted him because he appeared to be successful and have momentum, probably blaming his ex wife for his downfalls. This is so tragic. I know an African British couple exactly the sane story. It was shoking how similar both stories are. But thing have not got to suicide or killing yet but financial situation is same gir both. Man spending and losing wife's money and get business struggling because he keeps taking money out. I tried to tell her to stop him from using the money from her business but she is not convinced. So it will be interesting to see where it all ends up 😮

Kiana lived not far from me in Missouri. So I got to see so much commentary regarding this. His side chicks were coming out the woodwork and it was revealed he was shot in his groin intentionally. People were genuinely surprised at their fake lifestyle. I wasn’t. I can’t stand online couples.

It really puts into perspective how one bad moment where your emotions have fully taken over can end in such devastation. I don't believe that if she had a chance to step back and think about the children and everyone who loved them both, she would even be able to fathom doing this. Our impulses are the scariest danger lurking inside of us.
This is why you have to get out of toxic relationships no matter how much you love the person. Your emotions get so volatile and if you convince yourself you won't lose control, you've already lost it.

I worked for Ronnell for about 4 months. Didn't make a penny selling insurance... And he wasn't the only one who got caught up. One of his partners was the guy who wrote the insurance policy at the center of the Murder for hire scheme that took down Sweetie Pies.

I live in St. Louis and used to pass by their barber shop/hair salon all the time. I also used to see him around town at various events, and I knew quite a few people who knew them well. It’s a sad story for everyone involved, especially the children. 🙏🏽

The fact that he had them move away from her friends and family is, unfortunately, classic controlling behaviour. It was a way of distancing her from others whose voices and ideas might have given her a different perspective, and might have even warned her off him. Also a way of getting her to relinquish her business, which was the one thing that truly was hers.

This was the craze during that time. I swear, there were quote unquote FAKE businesses like this going around all over the country. (Financial services, supplement businesses, diet teas, credit fix), just everything! This putting on a FRONT, was everywhere.
My dad told me never trust someone who calls themselves an entrepreneur, there is more validity to their claim when your clients or business partners call you that rather than yourself.

My goodness this pair were infuriating, rent a small place, get rid of the flash cars, sell off the jewellery etc. She had a successful business for twenty years, I’m sure they could have recovered from $500,000 debt with some proper financial planning. Why she stayed with him is beyond me.

We own a small flat most of the nice furniture we picked up at charity shops cheap. At Christmas we struggle to find things to buy each other because we have clothes phones a games console and a tv. In my classes I am always telling my students that chances are the people they are following online are only living the image that they want you to believe. That there is always more to the story then what is being projected. Often my students tell me they feel depressed their lives are not like the people they follow on social media.
A massive swath of social media is nothing more than poisoned candy for the eye and the mind. Please keep warning your students about the reality of it.
Thanks for communicating that to your students. I grew up watching Leave it to Beaver and the Donna Reed Show, Brady Bunch. I thought we were impoverished. Of course, pop culture sociologists' studies have shown that those shows screwed up millions. Furthermore, we also learned that the back stories behind those "perfect" people were not REMOTELY perfect. In fact, their real lives made mine look ideal.
