    I bought 2 cakes of this retwist chainy cotton about a year or so ago just cause I liked the look of it, but when it came to using it for a project I didn't have a clue what to make
    Thanks to you sharing your wonderful talent I now know what I can make with it, I do struggle with ideas of what to make, I only started crocheting about a year or so ago and I'm still struggling with reading patterns so having channels like this is, in my opinion priceless

    This is exactly what I was wanting for my yarn fairy bag! I wanted a oval base with half double crochet (my favorite stitch). I love that in the back loop round you had us do it in the back loop and third loop! I never knew that. Thank you so much for your time and energy making this tutorial. I will be doing my handles differently and I’m using all kinds of fun yarn so mine will look totally different, lol. 😀

    Yay! I finally finished... I have a few WIPs. I used 3 weight yarn in my stash (which I have a variety of brands and weights but one skein only that I need to use up) and decided to line the bag with left over cotton fabric for support.. Loved the tassel so I added one as well. I really liked how it worked out. Thank you so much, Anja for this tutorial!

I'll try to adapt the stitch count for t-shirt yarn, so it's sturdy.

    An excellent video. Including the total number of stitches at the end of each round would be helpful. At 15:30 you state "put the stitch marker in the second stitch" perhaps "put stitch market in the last stitch you just made." At 22:24 you state "and another one in the next stitch" while placing two hdc (increase) which could cause confusion if a viewer is listening not watching. Hope this helps.

    Question, I notice when I join with a slip stitch and start a new row, my starting place slowly moves and it creates a diagonal seam. It seemed that your bag had this type of seam? So is that a "normal" process of joining the ends of the rounds with slip stitches? 🤔
    Some people have straight seams and I cannot figure out what I'm doing "wrong."

    • @OpheliaTalks

    Hi Anja, I am new to crocheting and find this video very helpful! I have completed the bottom oval of the bag, but since I am only using one color and my yarn does not change colors I wanted to spice it up a bit more. What beginner/intermediate stitch would you recommend using instead to make it look more unique? (since I am unfamiliar wih many of the different types) Thanks!

    • @OpheliaTalks
      @OpheliaTalks  Год назад

      Hi Sophie, for a beginner, try mixing up your basic stitches, you have an arsenal of inspiration in the basics, try a row of DCs, HDCs, TRs, then go back to the DCs etc. But be aware of your gaps in like the TR, I'd put them at the top of the bag. Anja x

Even though I have been crocheting for quite a while..I still lack knowledge in this field...especially when it comes to yarn selection. I would love to do this bag with a longer handle..My only question here is, can I use 100% acrylic yarn for this project as I have whole lot of them and I do not want to waste money on yarn cakes for the time being till I finish off with the acrylic yarn stash that I have accumulated. I have never in my life struggled to make something..this is so frustrating! It's a beautiful bag and I can follow along pretty good but without a stitch count I had to keep pulling out and trying to figure out where I went wrong...it would of been so much easier if there was a stitch count!! After each round. I gave up on it..even with the stitch markers either she was off or I was..off not trying to be mean but if you don't give a stitch count and on the last round of the bottom went off camera and came back there's no way of knowing those last few stitches..and what was done on one side was different on the other 🤷🏻‍♀️ on the last round..hopefully I will get it finished..

    • @OpheliaTalks
      @OpheliaTalks  2 года назад +1

      So sorry you feel so frustrated, but I really don"t see the problem, make sure you have your stitches for your increases on your base, and once you start your sides, make sure you place one stitch on top of another, I really do not go off camera to do something different there! I continued as I was, there is no fiddling on my part to make things work out, and if you miss one stitch, it is not the end of the world! Life is too short to worry about things like that! Have fun creating. Anja x

      Sorry sewlittle1, most of my tutorials are just that, video tutorials, you will find patterns in my web shop, but not for everything I have designed. Thank you, Anja x

    You need to correct the video please. You initially said to put 2HDC IN EACH stitch between the half-circle stitch markers. But then at end of round 3, you said the pattern was 1HDC, 1HDC in next, and THEN 2HDC into the 3rd stitch and started repeating that pattern. I now have to rip out and start over. Wish there were written directions because this change half way through is frustrating.

      The video is correct as the increase for a circle (here half a circle) changes in each round, so do the increases as instructed in the video and you should be fine. Good luck
