exactly im like many others that didnt automatically realize it was China...Italian company, I dont know all the Providences of Italy so I made the wrong assumption...
With those Dedfish knives you were spot on with the olive wood and G-10. I just don't like how those knives are listed as "German Steele" on their website. Reminds me of all those crappy blades at the flea market on a Saturday morning.
Hadrian Jarilovic waste you’re money on a Man Can from IV8888 and you’ll love the Battle Box. i know i do every month and want to kick myself in the babymaker. until this month, i finally convinced myself to cancel.
Hadrian Jarilovic Chinese made knives from an Italian based company, and “damascus” chefs knives that are just etched to look like damascus. Yea they are turning to shit.
I'm interested in buying those kitchen knives and yours is the only video that shows them at all. They offer either your option of German steel or in Japanese Damascus. What do you think of your knives now?
From the Dedfish website - BLADE MATERIAL: The High Grade Damascus steel used for these blades consists of layers of low carbon & high carbon mixture welded, forged and hammered several times to obtain up to 200 Layers. The hardness of these blades is up to 55 HRC on the Rockwell scale providing sharp edges that are designed for lots of use. Precision heat treating methods are employed to provide the sharpest, most enduring edges available. Battlebox saw fit to send their subscribers junk knives thats simply look pretty. 55 HRC is so soft I can't believe they advertised it to the public. Most of these monthly sub boxes are a complete sham.
Thanks for all of your links. What is a Battlebox? Sorry, but new to me. 20 to 30 lbs? Also, thanks for your daily content. It seems like some successful reviewers get a little bit lazy.
@@cutlerylover Because it's a circle the stress concentration shouldn't be too bad. Still better than say a rat tail or hidden tang that meets the blade at a 90deg angle (could probably take more abuse than a USMC kabar). That hole is a little large, though, without much surrounding material... especially considering the length of the blade. Bottom line: I think you'll be surprised. If it failed batoning, the top would probably fracture/shear and the bottom would buckle... or vice versa during heavy chopping. Hope to see a torture test ;) just don't do like the guy in the battlebox video and cut your thigh open with it
Haha jeff you are like the dad in a Christmas story. P.R.C it must be Italian lol. I was wondering do you have any plans on getting more black powder firearms in the future.
Your last comment is a lil confusing cus you said you were disappointed with the knife of the month then said you like the kitchen knifes witch are the knife of the month so did you mispeek or get confused on what you don't like
This is kind of a dumb comment based all in assumption. Battlebox is a US based company first of all. So yes they may be buying some of the products from china. But then we buy it from them. So it goes to a US based company. Secondly it depends on the tier of box you get too. Lots of 'Pro Plus" boxes have several items made in America. Maybe you should do your research. BTW guess where the phone or computer you used the write that comment was made? lol

I just don’t get people buying into these subscriptions rather than save up and buy exactly what you want
People probably do it with expendable income. I don't think people who need to save up money are buying monthly subscriptions to anything.
@@planejet42 I wouldn't do the subscription, but I do like to peruse them for gear ideas.

What's your take on the Ontario 499 usaf knife?
Great vid as usual. Keep up the great work!
Was that Damascus effect ground onto the blade?
Great vid Jeff
Jeff I was ready to Rush right to the link for the Machete 🤬 till I seen that GIANT Hole in the handle
Cool stove.
The machete was a disapointment though. Such a nice blade, but all ruined because of that finger hole.
Ill test it to see if my assumptions are true but ive been wrong before so its not fair to judge without using it...
