You are so inspiring to watch and observe a true Master at work !! Thank you for sharing your talent and tricks of your trade !! I look forward always to getting a notification that you have posted a new upload. Wishing you the very best !!
If you make your templates out of chipboard or similar thick paper, you can lay them over material and cut out with a snap off razor blade. Marking a line and using scissors is fine but over time your hands take a beating and arthritic conditions start to show up.
I have used a padding of 1.8 cm thick (a latex Eva foam hard density 0.8 cm thick and a softer regular foam on top 1 cm thick). We could use one single medium density upholstery foam 1.8 to 2 cm thick instead. I have used a sewing machine needle 140=22 size. For this sample I used a 138 thread size for top stitching. We can also use the other method that is blind stitches: ruclips.net/video/tOCfT_H2DHY/видео.html
The yellow fabric is a kind of felt in the lower part. A velour fabric on top. These fabrics help the padding to slide/tuck into the sewn bags. The white stuff is Eva foam(latex foam)
Can you tell me what the pliers are that you sometimes use to hold/pull the fabric while sewing. They look comfortable to use, but I haven't found anything similar.
Those are called 'orthodontic pliers'. I found them on a bazaar, here in Mexico. You could find them on internet: www.amazon.com/Orthodontic-Position-Appliance-Bending-Instrument/dp/B07CSMFFGV/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=orthodontic+pliers&qid=1704743680
@@Cechaflo I thought it was an orthodontic tool, but I couldn't find it. Thank you very much. Thank you for the quick reply. Your videos are great, I learn a lot from them. In Poland, such knowledge is completely unavailable because practically no one deals with this type of upholstery. You can learn modern ones, but I sew for kustom cars, e.g. Chevy 53s, and your knowledge is great for me.
I regularly use this machine. It is a Pfaff 1245-706/47 walking foot, triple transport. It is similar to Pfaff 545-H36/01 or Pfaff 145 H4 Another good options are Consew, Juki, Singer, Adler, etc.
