  • In this video I do a short introduction to the concept of moisture retention curves. I discuss the two properties that make up the curves as well as how to interpret them. Here are links and references for the papers or books I consulted to get the graphs used in this video:

      @@ScienceinHydroponics Please add formulation of stock solutions of popular recipes that has been researched on in your videos as well. I think it'll be a great addition like recipes of Yamazaki Strawberry etc.

    Great video, thank you! I'm really glad you brought up the physical size of the pieces of media too at the end.

      Thanks for commenting. Certainly, the media size is very important, the packing of the media can also make an important difference. This video only scratches the surface of the topic!

    Thank you for sharing! Where can i find comparative curves for pebble clays (Hydroton, Arlite...)?

    • @ScienceinHydroponics
      @ScienceinHydroponics  Год назад

      If you search for the media + moisture retention curve you can often find papers with the moisture retention curves. The manufacturers will also often have them if you request them directly.

    Hi sir,
    How we can find P1 and P2 of this curve?

    • @ScienceinHydroponics
      @ScienceinHydroponics  8 месяцев назад

      Thanks for commenting. These curves show you how media behaves in terms of tension as it dries, they do not talk about irrigation practice, which would be a different topic.
