    This was apsolutely fantastic 👏 very well explained. I love how you kept it simple with every "S" but to the point. I look forward to more of your videos.

    This is a rant that I have been championing as well for years. Safety is important but should be built into each step of the process - Its not its own step. Thanks Paul for the great video I was beginning to think I was the only person who thought this way

    Paul, I am a Lean Coach who fights this battle for 22 years, I agree with you that whoever mentions 6S, it indicates lack of understanding of the tool and Lean Concept, also majority of my clients call it Housekeeping tool, which is worse than calling it 6S in my humble opinion. Thank you for simply referring Ss to verbs and actions and Safety as an output not input, well described.

    This video is absolutely right! Many companies where I worked used "6S" as an opportunity to indulge in some mid-level manager's cleaning fetish, without any focus on process improvement. 5S can be a powerful tool if used properly.

    Food for thought. I'm dealing with the take over of manufacturing by project management engineers. People with no manufacturing experience are hiding behind the project management curtain. May be you could provide some videos either to help deal with these people or why you think this is ok. I need some perspective here. Everything is a project and they are beating us manufacturing guys and gals up with this MS Project club. Everything must have problem statement and all the other project trappings. Can you help?

      Bruce - why don't you drop me a line on paul.allen@allenp.co.uk
      There is some merit in what they are saying, but a process improvement project can never have a 'fixed' project plan...so MS project is pointless, drop me a line...

    I saw your post on LinkedIn. I was thinking you were going to make another video to explain your position. This is one of the reasons people beat 6 Sigma up. When people just make things up then people pick up on that and call it all a scam. This kind of fabrication out of thin air, gives people like Dr. Burns room to criticize.

      Bruce you're spot on, Six Sigma is simple. It's the basic application of process physics. Lean is also very simple, speed up the speed that the product flows to the customer. If you've used these ideas for 40 years and run out of ideas to improve further then perhaps you can start to finesse these methods. But Toyota have been at it for 80years and still find the basic lean tools work perfectly well....

    Paul can you create a video on Lean Canvas Problem Statements?

      Hi Bruce - Happy to produce something to help, by the term canvas do you just mean lean subject matter projects....

    • @bruce7760
      @bruce7760 3 года назад

      @@paulallen5321 I used the lean canvas for a procurement project for seal and gasket procurement. Maybe not what I would say is a manufacturing lean project. I believe you can forget this. Thanks for your help.

    So much agreed that I made a video about the same thing a wile back 😃 ruclips.net/video/Z5CnsmQet3c/видео.html
    (That happens to be the first one I got a dislike on - so I guess we’re hitting a snare here)
