honestly i survived but i almost cried even i did not cry like i want to eat your pancreas this is the show that almost got me to much Even rewatching eve i dont feel like crying but i can feel the inside got trucked-kun so i still feel it
I had no idea what was in store for me when I saw this episode. I watched this while on a plane, on my way to see my own mother, who was in the hospital. I managed to keep it together though and not become a sobbing wreck in a plane full of people, but it wasn't easy.
I cannot utter the words "Happy birthday, Anne" without absolutely losing it. Violet Evergarden could have ended with this episode and been complete. Violet crying is the culmination of everything that had happened up to that point. Everything she had learned. 3 characters carried this episode. This is how you tell a story. Anne's story, but itself is heartbreaking. But bring Violet into the mood, fresh off of learning how to empathize and you've got a recipe for pure emotional outpouring that's fully earned.
I have seen this episode so many times (8-10 to be exact) and every time I think "this time I am not gonna cry" then Violet starts crying, and that's what does it for me every single time. "It's enough to make a grown man cry"
This is honestly up there with my favorite pieces of any media in general, not just in anime. It's written so beautifully tragic yet warm. Violet's incredible evolution as a person over this show culminates here and it hits me every time I watch it like it's the first time. I lost my mother this year and she did a similar thing for me of leaving a letter behind; I wasn't sure if I was ready to re-watch this episode, but I'm so glad I did. Despite how much pain Ann went through, it's made me feel so much hope for the future. The episode balances hope and despair impeccably well. Great reaction, I'm crying right there with you
Rusty: Just reading this got me all emotional. Can't even begin to imagine how the weight of this episode would bring to you replicating the same scenario. It is a powerful, emotional episode and a masterpiece of writing/storytelling. Music captures the very essence of these emotional moments as well. I'm glad you were able to return to watching the episode, and I hope it serves as a reminder of all the good things which made your bond with your mother a special one. Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it :)
Episode 10 is like hitting your toes on corner, then punched in the face and drop. While getting up you will be ran by a speeding motorcycle and you'll survive but finally get hit by a truck out of nowhere. This episode made me cry so much that it brought me a terrible headache.
yeah this is one of my favourite episodes not just of this anime but in general. And for sure one of the most emotional and sad (but also heartwarming) pieces of media ever created. the music, the story, the impeccable voice acting of the kid on top of the outstanding animation as usual is just pure sad perfection. And then the ending hits you with her going through life and finally violet crying and really proving all the emotional growth she's gone through in this series. it's even more impactful on consecutive viewings when you already know what's coming. When i saw that intro shot i knew i had to get the tissues
Rusty: It was executed so well. I don't think I've ever got this emotional over an anime/show. Not that I can recall right now anyway. Nier, Kingdom Hearts 2, FF Crisis Core and FFX are some games that hit me hard like this though.
Its a breaker of an episode, it hits hard. Shows how far Violet has come with her emotionally breaking down at the end. They made An a really great character who actually acts like a child
Violet Evergarden is one of my favorite anime. Especially episode 10 is a legendary masterpiece. After watching all the stories, be sure to watch the OVA and the two movies! I want you to watch Violet's journey all the way to the end.
Hiyaaa. Thanks you for watching our reaction! :) Episode 10 is amazing, as you can see by our faces haha. We did watch the OVA during the season, between episode 4 and 5. it was great. We will be watching the 1st film the Sunday as well and will be on the channle next week. Thank for commenting.
Rusty: I feel like watching episodes like this again and again makes it more emotional. I mean, this is the 2nd time Amy is watching Violet Evergarden and it has the same impact on her, if not, more.
@IGTrumpy Rusty: I've seen it, she hasn't. I will admit it's pretty sad. It's been about 13 years since I watched it last, so pretty hard to say which one would be lol
Welcome to the episode that most of the audience who finished Violet Evergarden warned for. An episode that 99% audience *failed to not cry*
Don't think we would ever fail to not cry to this episode. Such a fantastic episode!
And that 1% who didn't cry is seeking therapy as we speak.

Just such a good episode. We love shows, films, music and games that bring out the best emotional response in us. Doing their job right.
everyone's gangsta till episode 10
This EP is very straight forward, I think it’s very obvious or quite obvious what and who’s the letter for but when it happen. That’s the bomb shell.
“It’s enough to make a grown man cry”
"I gave up being with you for the rest of my life so I could be there for the rest of yours"

I've watched this episode more than 5 times and yet it's always got me.

Rusty: haha. That's very descriptive, but that's pretty much correct.
fark i even got emotional again watching this reaction
this show killed me man
Its like being constantly hit by the feels train.
This episode is impossible to escape unscathed. I almost made it through on my first viewing until Violet broke at the end.
Totally get that. You're like "Nothing emotional her, I'm not crying. Oh crap.. *tears*
This show's the master of "ugly crying" iykwim
This episode is a humanity test. if you do not wail, you're not human. It hits like a truck.
Very much so. If a person doesn't cry, then we can't be friends 😂

Amy: Should be a challenge -- but i know I'll always lose lol
Everybody gangsta till episode 10 of Violet Evergarden
YT recommending me another Violet Evergarden ep 10 reaction? Time to cry again I guess LOL
Amy: Welcome to our cry session 😂
I always run out of tissues when I watch this story😂
Amy: I was almost the kim kardashian crying meme here, ngl. 😂
I watched figured the plot in 2 minutes still cried
It's like an emotional bear trap. No getting out of it.
