That Cabo pic of Eddie was my first issue of a bodyboarding magazine. The Tahiti Skins doc with his massive wipeout was my first bodyboarding video. I have a lot to say about Andre Botha. His unique way of wave-riding and living life shaped me as a young teenager and only now do I connect the dots between my own personal creative way of living life and his influence.

Please do more of these Chris! More longform andre Botha interviews! So good hearing stories from the OG's of the Nofriends days in Hawaii. Would be epic to see more Waimea Shorey vs andre too on the long lens. Stories about 662 would also be super sick! Skipper, kainoa, GT, hubb, all the legends

Dre is a fucking legend! I grew up watching him charging over in Hawaii and i'm just lucky that the sport of bodyboarding has a guy like him on the team

Always loved the ocean but due to work and playing other sports never had the time to do this but I have recently started bodyboarding and watching Andre always give you that motivation to continue and keeping pushing through. Very brave being so close to the shore , it looks very exciting but at the same time scarey and I really love the colours of light that come through the waves as they are breaking , gorgeous turquoises and translucent greens that sparkle . 👏👏

I cut my teeth on shorey’s. It’s still my favourite wave to ride. I don’t charge heavy shit like AB but I still get the stoke.

Done some massive shorebreak at Hossegor France. 3 - 4 Meter barrels. One of the most horrifying Moments in my life.
Soon I Was asking myself what the heck I am doing in the water right now.
I realized there was no other way out than to catch one of these monsters, no other way to get back on the beach without getting smashed.
I didnt really think threw at first, i just waited for a quiet Set and paddeled as quick as I could to the lineup. Then I realized, I had to take a Monster, no way out.
In my head I wasnt really ready that day.
To my surprise at the lineup we suddenly also had to paddle more far out because a large deep water set hit in, it landet right on my head, got in the washing Maschine, it felt like minutes.
Got my mind back together and waited for a small shorebreak Barrel, caught a 2,5 Meter Barrel and was done for the day.
