    FYI: For Q12, the rule is actually the Fleming's *left hand* rule, where the thumb is the force experienced on the charge, index finger is the direction of magnetic field, middle finger is the direction of current.
    Since, electron is the moving particle here, (which is a negative charge), therefore current (flow of positive charges) will be in the opposite direction of the electron. If you use the left hand rule correctly, you'll find that the force will be experienced upwards.

    Ah, I see. It sounds like you encountered a classic example of a mathematical fallacy often used to demonstrate the importance of careful reasoning in mathematics and physics. The "proof" usually involves a series of manipulations that appear to be legitimate but actually involve dividing by zero or other invalid operations, leading to the false conclusion that 1 equals 2. It's a fun exercise to spot where the error occurs!

      lol, I agree. even funnier is that he got both the fingers wrong as well as the hand but somehow ended up with the correct answer xD. the elektron is indeed moving up but you take the left hand because electron. Then the thumb is the intial velocity vector of the elctron the index finger is the magent field lines, which go out of the paper towards us and the middle finger is the resulting (Lorentz)force. its easy to forget despite supposedly being a trick :D.

    • @limez1307
      @limez1307 3 года назад

      @@zerty9989 it's a hand trick to assume the movement of a positively charged particle in a magnetic field perpendicular to the charges initial movement vector. It also applies to wires and coils and everything else that's a transport medium for such positive charges. It becomes the left hand rule when electrons are in focus.
