We just released our smaller cutting board here: www.grankvist-outdoors.com Thank you for watching the video. Me and my girlfriend make these cutting boards ourselves by hand, so if you want to support the channel we would be very happy if you could check out our website. We have a special limited Christmas sale over there which makes the perfect gift! We are so grateful for everyone who bought from our first batch of cutting boards, they sold out very fast. It means the world to me, that this is made possible. The blacksmith in the video is named Nils. He has his own RUclips channel: www.youtube.com/@nilsogren He is one of the few that makes his own axes by hand here in Sweden. So check out his channel!
Hello Erik. Your channel is great. I’ve been watching you from the beginning of your cabin build. It awesome to see someone build something correctly from the ground up. Today I looked into buying a couple of your medium size cutting boards, however, I found out that you don’t currently ship to the United States. Do I need to say that I am disappointed? Maybe one day……. -RR
Erik ,2 years ago I lost my father, I was 16 ,watching your videos gives me power to make Something of my own and make my father proud ,Keep grinding and never give up !
haha...hell yea..he starts with the essential things...moves his way up as he keeps building the essentials..I bet there will come a day when he is building a 'rocking chair' to laze outside for a siesta :)
so, you hate music? thats interesting to me...all the cool films out there with all this music must be a nightmare for you..i did not know that something like this exist. I am wondering now how many music hater exist...in percent?
your dog makes me smile - proper companion just like i had - devoted to each other - always so close - and he sits there watching, making sure your doing everything right, keeping you safe - but i have to say your little dream house is rapidly turning into a proper cozy little home in the wilderness, how soon before the sauna gets built? i love your films, did you think this is where you'd be, boy sets out into wilderness, gathers materials to build a new home, a new life, its a proper coming of age documentary, you should be amazingly proud of what you have achieved, do any of your friends do this as well? i imagine they are all so proud of you too
Erik, you may find that you want to build a cricket (as we call them in the U.S.) above your fireplace on the roof so that water/snow sheds away from the fireplace on the uphill side of the roof. While you did all your flashings correctly, above the fireplace on the roof is now a big V shape that can hold water and may cause ice damming during the winter. A cricket, is a small roof, in this case shaped like a hip roof would work well, that will shed the water coming from uphill of the chimney to the sides of the chimney. I just had to spend the last week having people install this very thing for me on a house I am building. You have done a great job with building your cabin. Thank you for including us all as you go through this journey.
This is a good idea....even where we had limited snow during the winter, if we have several weeks of good snow, the snow builds up over the chimney and the slow melting causes leaks between the flashing and chimney
It’s good to see there are still a few of us who know how to live the old way. My ancestors also carved their lives out of the wilderness it’s a DNA that goes a long way towards survival. Great work and a good looking German shorthair.
Du är verkligen någon JAG ser upp till. Du följde din dröm och det var modigt. Allt hårt arbete och slit som ingen här kan föreställa sig. All ödmjukast respekt! Blir inspirerad.
Erik I don’t know what I admire more. Your vision or your ability. I have a female Weimaraner and when I am working on something she is never more than arms reach away, just like your pooch. Great video as usual.
It's so fun to watch you make and "live in" the same style cabin that I have grown up with, being the just a year older than you. Keep it up, Erik! --Hilsen fra Norge

Just watching the magpies playing in my cedar tree the simple things in life are by far the best . Lovely to see people living in harmony with nature and the skills needed to survive good luck guys .
I really enjoy that you just show how things are done, properly, not reacting to people making things the wrong way. Not that I always totally agree with your methods. It reminds me of my father, when we were going to the store or something he would point to a construction site or something and say "they will have a problem with mold later". It confused me at the time that he didn't tell the builders, but now I know that it's impossible to teach people who don't understand. Leading by example is the best way!
What a beautiful fireplace, stove addition to your cabin. The hot water tank to the left of the firebox is pure genius. Wishing you, your lady and furry kid a blessed holiday season, gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together. Peace brother

I have watched you since day 1. I have been amazed by your craftsmanship and the knowledge that you have in order to do all that you have accomplished in the past few years. I remember when you traveled to a place where you relaxed in the hothouse and how you would bathe in an ice-cold stream. I loved how you harvested your trees and used every part of it even down to the bark. I would love your cutting boards but you do no business in America. Please let me know when you do. I would love to buy to support your channel. Your American friend, Ron Wilson
This video proves that if you have a dream and motivation, your dream will come true. And the life you are living is the fruits of that dream. The cabin, the fireplace and the food for your dinner are all parts of the dream come true. I am so proud of you Erik! I've been around since the beginning, I remember the struggles of building, the pain involved in digging the root cellar and all the rest. You never gave up and here you are now with 1.44 Million subscribers, all who admire you and the life you've carved out of the woods to claim as your own. You are an inspiration and deserve all the great things to come in your life. See you in the next video my friend!!
Good craftmanship for a young man, it's good to be self-sufficient. I love that stove I have to get one for my home these gas bills keep fluctuating. And I love your dog. No noise no pollution, no traffic noise, no sirens it's so relaxing.
You're living my dream life. Love your camera work. It must be exhausting moving the camera a thousand times. As if the work alone wasn't hard enough. Your hard work did not go unnoticed. Kudos to you sir for a fantastic work all around.
Hey Erik! Love your content...and that you finally found a girl to share your lifestyle with. Seems like you used some cement mortar without lime. For plastering i would recommend using lime and cement. The mortal would be much more sticky to the ground and its easier to work with. Have a nice day! Greetings from Germany. Gerrit
What a beautiful transformation Erik…the chimney stove is just magnificent…..not many young guys like yourself would even built a cabin from the start using primitive tools. Simply the best I have ever seen Erik….
primitive using modern cement, soldering iron, etc i didnt see the cabin being built, did he move all those trunks or was machinery? Edit: typo. Edit2: ok at least he didnt used machinery, nice.
Most people go to work to do a job they don't like for someone else to profit from you! Giving up all your time in return for money, work your whole life to find out your still broke, I'm starting a youtube channel... to see what I can build in my restored wooden shed that I'm building now in a uk garden Need to build something I enjoy doing! This guy is a true craftsmen & I've watched the log cabin from the start... amzing job!!! 🪚🔨

So glad you feed your beautiful dog real food. Not just another homesteader making a big deal about their natural lifestyle and yet feeding their dog junk kibble. Well done
Congratulations Erik, I have been following you since the beginning of the construction of the cabin, which has become a great tribute to old construction techniques and nature, which appears in all your videos. It is not only magnificent but also accompanied by its natural sounds, which you always let prevail. Your sincere friendship with the dog, always present and interested in what you are doing, could be the main focus in itself. Your girlfriend is also wonderful, silently supportive. My compliments come from Peru.
I've been watching you from the very beginning of construction. I know one thing - you are a real man. There are fewer and fewer people like you in lazy Europe. Stay healthy and Merry Christmas! I wish you all the best from Poland!
Wow what a pleasure to see you again,I was so excited. Glad your doing up your Cabin up so beautiful and cosy. Your supper looked so good. Your little Ms seems to like it there as well. So happy for ya ,wishing you health and happiness.Wish you'd post more, until next one I love you both,Hugs
I work construction and we do quite a bit of mud work inside concrete structures from time to time and on vertical surfaces it seems to help the mortar stick if you wet the surface a little bit before hand. Also keep your trowel wet keeps the mortar from sticking to your tool and can give you a really nice finish. You can also wet a horse hair brush and give it a nice finish. Looking good though keep it up man!
It's always a treat when I see that you uploaded another video! Not only to watch the progression of your cabin but also the hard work that went into producing your videos! 👍
Thanks for sharing your vision and talent with these projects for us viewers to enjoy Erik. The stove/fireplace turned out beautifully, great job utilizing the space!
I’ve never seen anyone your age, or any age for that matter, skilled in so many different disciplines…usually theres a wood guy, metal guy, brick guy, concrete guy, etc…amazing
I remember watching you build that cabin from scratch and look at you now! Thanks for sharing these experiences with us. Much love down here from Denmark! ❤🤍 💛💙

Great job! That’s a nice looking fireplace. I really like the way your videos are edited. No music or anything. Makes the whole experience so much more ”real”. Just the sound of nature and the crackling of a fire.. and how beautiful is your girlfriend/wife! Great video as always.
Okay , watching you put that stove pipe ! Every time I clean my chimney pipe , it’s always a challenge putting it back in with the angles . We’ll done 👏👏the drone shots were amazing as well
Your cabin is absolutely beautiful. I've been watching your videos from the beginning and you've become extremely skilled. It's going to be there for generations to come. Well done.
Erik, just found your channel and love what you are doing. Your thumbnail drew me in because it looked Norse and your German Shorthair. I’ve had gsp all my life. God bless and keep up your great adventure.
Hi I'm brenda for England London I have been watching you from the start what you have done is amazing brilliant from a tree to a cabing, from a boy to a young man and your dog from a puppy to a really lovely dog ,and I will watch the next one thank you God bless xb
Its amazing to see what you have built. You truly have learnt your art well. Looks like you are heading into winter, hopefully will get to see some of your beautiful country in the snow. So much respect for what you have achieved so far, and wish you all the best in the future, whatever it may bring. Regards from the other end of the world (New Zealand).
I envy your commitment. I recently moved from crowded San Diego to the mountains of Western NC to begin my homesteading adventure. It's not easy, but it's rewarding. Definitely a learning curve as well. Love your video.
Seeing you chop wood, lighting the fireplace have dinner with your girlfriend and the dog feels like finally coming home and is well deserved after all these years. Thank you for letting us be a part of all that. 🫶
These videos bring so much joy and smile to me every single time you upload! I'm hoping to get some land for myself and build home👍 Greetings from Finland brother! Hopefully i get to see a whole village out there😅
Mr. Erik, it is very refreshing to watch a true craftsman at work. I am very handy as well but I have learn a few more things for my quiver. Thank you very much. Your girl friend is awesome at video also!
You have worked so hard, I admire and respect you. Your kitchen cooking stove--fireplace lets all the heat go up with very little actually staying in the cabin
Now he's forging too! I'd really like to know if there's anything Erik can't do! Incredibly good work. And if you don't totally relax when watching the vids, it's your own fault.
When you took the time to make sure those logs mated up together instead of chinking it really paid off. Very cozy and no chinking to replace periodically. It was a lot of extra work but that's craftsmanship and well worth the effort
I have been watching you for almost 3 years now and I'm so happy that you took part in the Yes Theory's video. I'm glad your channel got the recognition and more people can see how amazing it is what you're doing. The inspiration and determination is what people need nowadays. Keep it up, we love watching you
It's so nice your sister is giving you a hand while you do some nessasary repairs, you look like your twins. Much luck on your creativity and much love.Afriend
I live very similar to this and i would not change my life for anything.you are very Talented young man.Enjoy watching your work ethics and abilities are outstanding. All the best to you and yours.
To be honest I was quite skeptical about the fireplace being built with cinder blocks and not natural stone (which would've been the logical choice, knowing you) .. but now that it is plastered, it looks pretty good. Well done!! 6:01 - This hand concrete mixer is cool .. never seen one before 👍
I remember, one of my neigbours had made a plaster mixer out of old pulsator washingmachines inner steel body. It had wooden handles and the working principle was the same. He also washed beetroots and other vegetables with it for the cattle🙂 He was a kind of inventor for own purposes😅
You are such an inspiring young man. Proof that if you are willing to learn and apply yourself, you can create something amazing. The results of your hard work and commitment are outstanding. I applaud you and have a feeling that anything you put your hand to will will be a masterpiece

Thank you for not adding excessive editing, or music to your videos. It makes the sounds of nature sweeter and more enjoyable.
are you saying that it's possible to make a video without 10 memes and 15 gifs in between agressive cuts and fart sounds? WHATEVER NEXT?
I agree, Erik has inspired me to stop using all those extras, especially cutting out the music.
I absolutely relish " just the natural sounds."

Your cabin is absolutely beautiful. I've been watching your videos from the beginning and you've become extremely skilled. It's going to be there for generations to come. Well done.
WOW.
..... and I think your dog is just as impressed as we all are 😊
Erik, just found your channel and love what you are doing.
I don't know if you have one, but one modern convenience you should get is a fire extinguisher. You put so much work into that cabin!
I envy your commitment. I recently moved from crowded San Diego to the mountains of Western NC to begin my homesteading adventure. It's not easy, but it's rewarding. Definitely a learning curve as well. Love your video.
Bellissimo lavoro, meraviglioso il caminetto con la cucina! Complimenti!❤
Marvelous workmanship, Erik!
Seeing you chop wood, lighting the fireplace have dinner with your girlfriend and the dog feels like finally coming home and is well deserved after all these years.
Thank you for letting us be a part of all that. 🫶
Wow! All you do is not just functional but beautiful. Truly an artist.
Another great video. With the internal fire and a wooden house, you should maybe have a fire extinguisher fitted nearby
Bravo Erik ,Only good thing about you ❤
These videos bring so much joy and smile to me every single time you upload! I'm hoping to get some land for myself and build home👍
Greetings from Finland brother! Hopefully i get to see a whole village out there😅
Erik You're A Master Of Everything , you've done a wonderful job on the Cabin/house !!🤗💖
Сколько сил вложено.А главное с душой и любовью.
You did such an amazing job building that cabin. You have an amazing talent.
Mr. Erik, it is very refreshing to watch a true craftsman at work. I am very handy as well but I have learn a few more things for my quiver. Thank you very much. Your girl friend is awesome at video also!
Another absolutely amazing video Erik, please 🙏 keep making more they're very educational and motivating.
You have worked so hard, I admire and respect you. Your kitchen cooking stove--fireplace lets all the heat go up with very little actually staying in the cabin
Have you ever cooked on one?
Believe me... the cabin will heat up
Now he's forging too!
Keep it up, we love watching you
what video? Can you link it? Couldn't find anything about Erik on their channel
It's so nice your sister is giving you a hand while you do some nessasary repairs, you look like your twins. Much luck on your creativity and much love.Afriend

Thx for #18 and #19. Both cutting Boards arrived safely.
All the best to you both on your journey.
This is what I call a hybrid fireplace. Great job Erik!😃
Erik, you are so much fun to watch! Talented beyond belief. Thank you so much for sharing!
It’s so great seeing you getting the recognition you deserve for all this work. Amazing 👏🏼
I live very similar to this and i would not change my life for anything.you are very Talented young man.Enjoy watching your work ethics and abilities are outstanding. All the best to you and yours.
Loving the new build, Erik! This cozy log cabin fireplace is a dream. Can't wait for the next project. Keep up the great work!
Now thats living the dream. And what a good looking couple.
Continue to do you
