This is a fantastic project!! I just made this project. So fast and easy. I will teach this to my sewing students (school-aged children). They will love it!!
I have been wanting to make these napkins for a couple years now. Hope this is the year!! But I did reduce the size of the pattern and made Christmas ornaments for my tree. Just topstitched around the sides add added a cord or thin ribbon at the top for hanging. Also a star button at the top. Turned out really cute. All my family & friends got one for Christmas. Happy Sewing!!!
Wonderful!! I got some Christmas fabric from our thrift shop animal rescue division! Love you! And I have a Shichon dog! Love your dogs! Blessings to your family ❤ Bonnie Ohio
Sherrill, I made some of these cute Christmas napkins years ago. I wish I had your easy to follow directions back then. Folding the napkins makes so much sense the way you explain it!!
Oh. Wow. What a beautiful project I’m going to make some for me and some Christmas gifts thank you all the best Donna from canada p.s just love your videos
Hi Michelle. Just make sure your fabric can be in the washer/dryer. Glad you liked the Christmas napkin tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍
I have liked this pattern for a number of years and even my favorite serger book has their version. Maybe after all these years I will finally get around to making this project. Like you, I am left-handed and do use my rotary cutter for as many things as I can. I am challenged when it comes to cutting curves with my cutter. Do you have a demonstration on how to effectively do this? First rule, of course is for me to slow down but any extra tips you have would be appreciated. Great tutorial. I have been looking for a new source for pattern paper too so thank you for the recommendation, I forget about Office Depot.
Hi Mardell. I use a 18mm rotary cutter (very small) to go around curves and circles. It does a great jo. Glad you liked the Christmas napkin tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍
Question: With a 10.5 inch circle measurement, how tall are the finished trees when folded? I want them to fit my Christmas plates, which are slightly smaller than a standard dinner plate, and I'm wondering how much to adjust the pattern size.
Hi Eileen. If you are cutting your circle pattern 10.5", and you are using a 1/4" seam, the height from top to bottom will be around 10" or slightly less. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
Hi Jill. Cut your half circle a little shorter in length so that you get the finished length you need. Glad you liked the Christmas napkin tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍
