The parts where it was first leaning down were sick, and the last 3 hits were perfect. Not a fan of when it was totally laying flat. But there's totally setup potential with the first slip of the cymbal.
I wouldn't call that a failure. The snare ended up going way harder than it would've alone, and it was a perfect fit to the rest of the track. Pure win in my book.
In my opinion it's a total win for the audience to watch you just keep pushing forward even if something has gone wrong, it helps give the whole idea that you're good at your craft
They didn't notice it because their too busy doing their part in the band. Who tf is. Gonna turn around and ruin the song bc their drummer is an idiot, didn't put the cymbal cap on and it fell off. That doesn't take skills lol
Because the stiffer the wing nut is on the Cymbal, the less bouncy the Cymbal is, and the more rebound there is, but loose wing nuts have more floppiness if that makes sense, and gives the Cymbal less rebound. Also, the felt pads can sometimes mute the Cymbal too, so for the best tone, I suggest removing them. But for jamming, I suggest putting them on. I unusually like mine tightend in between
@@FallWarrior-si5eu I’m all about that cymbal wash and letting it move freely, but you can get soft thin felts and keep that wing nut loose. Especially at a gig like this. No need to choke it completely but having nothing there at all has never made sense to me. Plus I’m a heavy hitter, and I want that cymbal edge back to its level position somewhat quickly
No that sounds sick as fuck. Like a natural gated reverb. Im stealing this next time I engineer for my buddy’s band and securing a crash to the back half of the snare.
@@coffin7904 Yeah, makes sense but depends how long it lasts. What's 30, 40, 50 bucks if you're doing it for work? I've seen a looooooot more spent on subtler gimmicks.
One year later. I never made up that line. I was jamming with the bass player out of my Dad's mate, and as I was doing a drum fill the high tom fell over. The bass player said "don't worry mate, if your kit doesn't fall apart then you're not playing properly"
Ima just straight up say it, it sounds better with that blooper, love how the metal thing (crash cymbal was it?) sounds a bit duller because theres very little space for it to vibrate but because its metal, it makes the drum sound sharper. Then when he puts it back in place, the open drum sounds deeper and diles it back with just the progression of the song along with the singers. Absolutely loved the recovery.
