This is the only place on the internet I was able to get the correct barrel jack specification. Thank you for that. The USB "negotiator" was also a very nice bonus. Thanks for putting this together.
Excellent Tutorial. I took it a step further. Cracked open the case of the TS100 and added two leads from the Power Jack and ran it outside the case. I then soldered on teh USB-C Module, and secured it to the side of the case with CA Glue and large heatshrink tubing to cut out the middleman of the adapter. It works great and is compact and out of the way. Thanks for the Idea!
I just use the TS-80 and it takes 9v using USB-C but you have to have a QC fast charge power brick. but it gets the job done for smd soldering. this seems to be a good solution for those with TS-100. I really like watching videos like this and your gameboy mods videos. keep it up
This so awesome! i had no idea these little adapters were a thing. With the new high output phone "chargers" these are great for powering all sorts of things. Love this for my ts100 .
Had a pro class last week so just catching up on my makho vids. So glad to see you have these, I got a TS80 because my low end soldering iron was burning things and not holding temperatures. The first time I heated it up in seconds, I couldn’t believe it. These tools just work. It was a bitch to spend the money and buy a battery too that would work but damn. It is worth the money.
Hey, I just got the inside gadgets Gameboy cartridge flasher and I am using a flashcart based off of the Japanese Pokemon Crystal cartridge and was wondering if you knew the specs for it so that I could flash it with a newer version of the Pokemon Crystal Clear ROM?
probably uses am29f016 so try that. If not, there is a flash id program you can use. You can always just pop the cover off and read the model off of the flash chip. If you're struggling, check out the insidegadgets discord.
Wait a minute. What is the cost of the Power Delivery Power Supply + the adapter? You could probably buy laptop power supply for the same cost or less.
if you have another device that uses USB C PD power supply, you can just reuse that power supply. For example, my laptop, switch, TS80P, and cell phone all came with USB C power supplies. The TS80P supply works with all four and, with this adapter, my TS100 and MDP-XP too.
I recently changed from a TS100 to a T12 based soldering iron... Not having a stand really bothered me. Also, the T12 ones have cheaper tips. TS100 is really good for portability though but I liked a soldering station.

One of the most complicated technical videos ever, got a mind workout out of it. 😄

I love the ts100. $70-$80 bundled for small, 24v beast. Heats up in like 5 seconds
"voultar turn on a lots of people" 🤣🤣

The best thumbnail image
hey, youtube broke it, not me
I have a few of the USB-PD sinks on the way as we speak! Been waiting for something like them to get affordable.
This video is too short.
just watch it on repeat a few times
Hey nice thumbnail

@@makho nah I still believe you did it on purpose
i dont really like portable irons, but i can see their uses

I wish instead of the barrel it was usb c. Then the ts100 would be perfect
Yeah. I'm not a tech so let me ask... can USB C deliver 24 volts with no problems?
You can make a stand very easily
Sure but cheaper irons come with solid stands so

How far can it go? (in Celsius)
The linked page says: Temperature range: 100℃ - 400℃
@@Torbjorn.Lindgren Good, I wasn't sure if it could go past 300°C which would have rendered it pointless as soon as you encounter a ground plane
Ts100 goes to 400 celcius max with stock firmware
