DIscussing programs and ways to learn them,,it would be very helpful if you state what version you are using to give these examples. I have 2018-2019 version and it is different, so I have wasted alot of time trying to follow your examples. But I do appreciate your efforts. I noticed your using a student edition.
I agree with stating the version year for learning purposes. Last i used Solidworks was back in 2015-2016, and I jumped right into 2019 version and could follow through without any issues. Yes the layout might be slightly different but most commands stay the same for the most part. You should be able to apply the same knowledge.
