This video kind of saddened me a little. I watched you in the thrift store, looking at things you felt were so beautiful so lovely so priceless and I was thinking, oh no, I hope she doesn't buy that. I didn't see anything worthwhile in that at all and then you showed it in your home and it was beautiful. No not in the store, but in your home with your touch in a place of honor and situated with lights and other touches that now made it look exquisite. You do have a passion for beauty and a gift for knowing how to create it. I could never do that and then you asked what are we passionate about and I realized nothing. I am old and nothing thrills me or excites me. I am no longer passionate about anything. If I had to name something I'd say God. I very much love Jesus. Something people never admit to or else they just don't feel it. I love my creator but I never considered it a passion. It's certainly not something people talk about. But you asked us to tell you ours and this is all I could come up with.
This is so beautiful Belva...it brought me to tears....I love being here...I love you are a part of my life...I love learning from you...I love my family..I love this world..and I love God....thank you for being such an angel for me this evening....xxoo Susan & Dez
I am so happy that you are so honest about how you’re feeling. So many people put on such a face. I’m 75 years old I lost my husband 10 years ago from cancer. I know how you feel. If it wasn’t for the Lord he makes my day. You didn’t mention any of your family. I was just wondering if you had children or grandchildren? I know things don’t satisfy your desires for love or compassion. But sometimes We get a chance to see something beautiful and use it in our home. Makes us very happy.
Oh Belva, Thank you for your honest response! Sadly, I think Many of us can identify! There is a common thread of Love and appreciation that resonates through all of us. Love to you ❤
When I stopped mourning the life that wasn’t and started living the life that is my whole world changed. I live every day with purpose now. Susan I think I have you and your channel to thank for that!
Susan, the world is a scary place right now and even more stressful than the 60s when we were threated with the Cold War and people were building bomb shelters. My passion now is gardening as I watch my finance slip away from this earth as he is getting weaker from Multiple System Atrophy. Gardening has kept me sane and gives me hope for tomorrow. I have worked my 1 acre lot into the most beautiful garden. Every morning I walk around and watch another plant blooming, or bees collecting nectar or hummingbirds gulping the sugar water I carefully make for them; and it gives me such sweetness to know God is in control.
Sorry about your friend. It is hard to watch someone get weaker and you know they can't get better. You have to find beauty around you to keep going. God Bless you...
🌷🙏Oh Susan, your passion and true grit really shines thru. I’m 66 now, divorced and alone in a new state, a new town, with a new little job to supplement my SS income. I give myself five minutes a week to cry and feel sorry for myself for this isn’t the retirement I thought would happen…but you are so right - never give up - we must persevere and continue moving in positivity, gratitude, humility and prayer. And I truly believe what the Good Book taught me - All will be well. God bless us all on this journey🌸💖🌸💖🌸🙏
Oh Dee (ima Dee too BTW) Please stay strong! You can do this. I'm 67, you're 66...Girl we are still young & vibrant! Right after you have that good cry...Dry your tears & put some makeup on...earrings, and a cute outfit...call a trusted friend, and go have a fabulous meal. Believe me, I hear you loud & clear...GO GET 'EM DEE!💃💅📿👠👛
Congratulations on your bravery and success Dee! A tear or two I think is required to just make sure we are still strong enough to feel " everything"...:) Thank you so much for sharing a bit of your life...it reminded me how strong and determined we women are! xxoo Happy Monday, Susan & Dez
Something I'm Passionate about is taking care of Timmy (my dog) who is a rescue. Providing a stable, loving, Safe home that is "His". Putting his needs ahead of mine and making sure everyday is a Great Day! Timmy is my little shadow and has filled my heart with Soo much love and helped me heal from past trauma. Susan somtimes I feel like Timmy rescued me! (I wish there was some way I could send you Timmy's picture?) Are you going to tell your viewers where your e- bay store is ( if we wish to support Desi and You?) Take Care, David and Timmy🇨🇦
I will be retiring at the end of this week and I am really uncertain what lies ahead of me. I live alone and am worried of being lonely. I watch your videos each week and you inspire me. Thank you Susan for being here.
@sheriw53.....I retired in 2018 (actually forced out)....live alone and have no children. I have recently gone back to work. The pandemic made me feel so isolated that I couldn't stand it.
Congratulations you will probably be so busy after you’re done working you won’t even realize where the time goes. If you’re anything like Susan you can go shopping at the thrift stores and make your home just as beautiful as hers she is such an inspiration to me.
Hi Sheri I retired at 70 (2 1/2 yrs ago) but at 47 I was divorced after 25 years…so early next year I will have been alone 25 years. I remember promising myself that I would try one new thing each week to give me something to look forward to…something I wanted to try just for myself. It was something to eat that I had never tried before or a new drink, a new book even some store that I had never been in. It didn’t cost much because I was definitely broke heck I even bought a bottle of bubbles for a quarter and sat out on the patio for an hour just blowing bubbles! It was joyous and taught me to smile again. I kept track of my something new each week. It truly lifted my spirit! Best thing I ever did for myself 💖💜💖. Look for places you can visit when you go to Paris and enjoy every moment of your trip 😉
I loved last week’s video about Vivian Maier. You honored her in the most beautiful, passionate and honorable way, which brought awareness to a very talented artist who lived an unsung life. The video may not have gotten a lot of likes, but it touch deeply a few people like me. Thank you for it🙏❤️❤️
I’m just learning at 80years old to start painting signs of all things. I get out of my head and focus on each letter. I can do that for hours. A great feeling of wellbeing comes over me and stays for hours. Very cool.
I always dreamed of going to Paris with a man that loves me. I'll be 58 in Nov and single for 6 years, I am totally content and not interested in a relationship. I've been saving money and plan to treat myself to that trip to Paris for my 60th birthday, even if it means going alone.
Good for you! I am so proud of you. I am 75 years old always wanted to go to Paris but never had the money. But I have a lot of knickknacks of Paris pictures lamps. And I also put on the Italian music on my TV. They show Of Italy. You might enjoy that it’s on RUclips. There is so much evil in this world and at my age there’s nothing I can do about it. So I listen to good things.
Definitely go!! There are many tour companies for groups and they are fabulous for people who are traveling alone!! You totally don't need a man to have fun and see the world!!
Susan, because we are all friends here..... your passions in life are ours too. I loved being introduced to Vivian and I can see why you were so passionate about her life. Love to you and Desi. ❤️
I make handmade “junk journals”, I discovered them about 4 years ago and found my passion. I shop thrift stores and antique markets for vintage items such as vintage lace, ephemera, and old books and “recycle” the items into my journals. I love the creative process of designing something beautiful from found objects.❣️
Hi Mary, reading your comment makes me want to open up my many boxes of craft / junk journal supplies, they are all new and many still in their original packaging for 2 years now, I am good with my hands and creative so I think I will finally start to make my journals this month!! Do you sale your journals? Two years ago I sold my 2 hand made journals and it was fun! I bought old wedding dresses in thrift shops for their pretty antique lace and beads for crafting! Have fun!
Your Vivian Maier video was spectacular. Not only was it a very interesting story about an amazing artist, but your production of it is first rate. You have so much talent putting together your videos.
What a great video, so nice to see Desi. At the end you hit nail on the head right on about life, getting older. This is my birthday month, I will be 75. Not sure how I got this old. I cried the whole time you spoke, you are so right but it is like my spirit is gone, there won't be much time lift for passion, happiness, only what comes next. What health issue will come along. I make the most of every day but you are so right about seeing the young girls, their whole lives ahead of them and mine ending. Where did that smile go, where did the happiness disappear too. I am so blessed beyond words, but living without someone to love, to love me, you know what I mean. Never going to feel passion again, share a kiss, to have a purpose in life. So thank you for sharing all this with us, so many of us can relate. Each day a new day and it is up to each of us to make it a good day.......the best we can. There will always be someone that wants to be our age.............
You have an uncanny way to hit subjects that I’m needing! The last week has been tough for me. I relocated to your city nine months ago and hit my 70th birthday in March. I’m feeling so alone and without purpose. Everything is so different here and my friends are back in Buffalo. You inspired me to seek something to be passionate about. I love animals (yes and that includes Desi). I had to give up my dog because he didn’t take too well to apartment life. So I’ve decided to volunteer at the John Ball Zoo. They need volunteers and I need them. Thanks Susan!!
To the young ladies on the dock -- enjoy these days of your youth and remember the sky's the limit! Practice kindness daily and your life will be blessed immensely. 🌹❤🌷❤🌼❤🌻❤🌺 Susan, thank you for being you! ❤
I am.passionate about everything. My son took me to Paris and it was glorious in every way. You will love it. Going thrifting with you is so much fun. I loved seeing the man fishing, the young girls playing, your polka dot outfit and A River Ran Through It one of my favorite movies. So rich, thank you Susan.
I’m a passionate gardener. I’ll be 70 years old in a few weeks and I still upkeep and plant my 2 acre garden. It’s a labor of love. I’m getting slower at getting it all done but I love my flowers. I do the vegetable garden to please my husband and eat healthy but I grow the flowers for my own enjoyment. People continually ask to visit my garden and that’s lovely too. Occasionally I get some help from one of my sons or my husband but the day to day upkeep is mine. My garden motivates me, inspires me, and I never run out of tasks to keep me busy. It fulfills my life.
Dear Susan, your thrift store finds or lovely, your heartfelt advice at the end was even lovelier. I hope you never feel the need to apologize for any of your videos you so kindly share with us. Please continue to share all that you love, it is all interesting, special and appreciated!
It's easy to feel like a victim when life is hard, during disappointments, ill health, caring for others, times of great uncertainty, where there is minimal support and many challenges and yet you remind us to write a new chapter, use what has gone before for good, for ourselves and others. Every experience has value, usually the painful ones are the ones that change us. Thankyou Susan for bringing light into dark places, beauty with such kindness and sensitivity, and sparkles of hope and joy with your creativity and inner reflections. Most of all the peaceful space you create with your channel and the tenderness and humour with which you share it.
Lately I have been passionate about watching positive uplifting people, music and motivational videos. I too am a thrift store and flea market shopper. And there is nothing better than a good garage sale. I turned 68 this year and some days I do wonder what will take me out in the end, but I have a strong faith and spend a lot of time in prayer and reading God’s word so I don’t worry- I guess I’m more curious now than I was young and felt invincible. Life is to be lived to the fullest and I find the older I get the more I only want to surround myself with positive people like yourself. So thank you for all the time and energy you put into your videos.
Your last words hit home for me. I'm soon to be 78 in a couple of weeks. I had a bypass last Oct and 2 days ago I had to have 2 more cardiac stents. I feel like my life is so fragile now. I only retired a year ago but I am more fragile and not as brave now. . I was a single mom for years. Worked 2 jobs at times. Took care of patients. Some elderly . Now I'm elderly. Takes awhile to wake up. No more hoping out of bed to go to work or go water the yard.etc... my cardiologist said ' Caroly, you are 77. Things break down. Just keep eating right , keep active and think ahead. My girls, 4 of them, got together and are paying my way with my oldest daughter to go on a european river cruise next spring. .. I'm thrilled. I will keep looking forward and your videos help me. I so love the things you love. Your apt is so beautiful. My dream is to go to Paris as well. I love all French things. I will get to touch on France for a bit on this cruise. ..thank you for lifting me up . You are right. It's not over.❤
My Mother in law used to send my daughter gifts & would say " It's so ugly, it's cute". Now, I hear that in you. I love that twine vase. And your bathroom! Susan, the colors are just gorgeous. The picture went PERFECT! I knew you would take pictures of the girls & the fisherman. What a lovely spot! My kind of peace! Susan, I always cry when I watch your videos. You just warm my heart. So happy to see Desi. Hug him for me. Love & Blessings from Fl.
I'm 78 and I'm passionate about art, music and I love my garden..It sure "ain't" easy being old but damn..so much better than the alternative..Thank you again for a great video..always fun and always interesting..You and Desi have a great new week..see you next week..
I am 77 and I totagree with you, Jo. Of course, I cannot foretell the future and I know there are trials ahead, but also so great surprises. As my dad told on his 80th birthday, “ I’ve waited a long time for this birthday! I think it was easy to get into the eighties-wonder how hard it will be to get out of the!” He died when he was 89.
Susan, I wish that I had your eye for color and beauty. I dream of putting something exquisite together and yet, it looks mundane. Your apartment is so charming, so delightful to the eye. It's a haven and Desi is the little fur boy adding warmth and love. I just wanted to thank you for adding a sense of belonging to my week and a sense that adventures are still to come.
Thank you so much Kate for being here and something tells me your home is anythng buy mundane! I so appreaciate you being here...we girls have fun!!! My love to you always, Susan & Desi
Dear Susan, thanks for the pep talk this week and it came when I needed it the most. Your words of wisdom are so appreciated and I can relate to so much of what you say. I needed to hear you say, 'some of us have lives that didn't turn out the way we planned' and that 'we can write the chapters'. Well, we can try, as life has its way of putting in its own words and you have no say in the matter, but the book isn't shut yet, so I live in hope. You make me look forward to Sundays so, so much seeing you and Desi. Love you both so much. Have a lovely week. Take care
Susan, I'm not a photographer at all, but I've watched last week's video about Vivian Maier and it was one of the best videos I have ever seen on RUclips, very inspiring, I was impressed. Awnsering your question, I love creating music, this is what moves me the most.
Can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t enjoy last weeks video Susan, it was wonderful, different to what you usually film, but wonderful. Please hope that people watch it, I’ve watched it three times. I want to come to Michigan from where I am in the uk just to find those fabulous thrift stores 😂 what great finds you get and you dress them out so beautifully in your home. Everything looks so calm and beautiful in your rooms, a true home. Yes missed Desi last week, but he’s looking great with his spot bow tie and hair trim. Love him and you. Thank you once again for another lovely video and god bless 🌸 p.s. my passion is my garden…always something to do out there.
I never miss a Susan and Desi Saturday night video. It means the world to me and is their perfect ending to my week. A little time with a sweet friend and her puppy with a side dish of adventure tucked in for fun. Thanks you two!
The music you chose paired perfectly with the video and overall theme. Beautiful! I just finished a quilt for my best friend’s birthday. We’ve been friends for 52 years! So I guess that’s my main passion: making things for the people I love. That makes me the happiest. I also love thrifting. I found the prettiest pale pink sugar bowl yesterday with a rosebud on the lid. I keep fake sugar in it. Haha!
I just got a job that initially I was leary about but everyone says it's perfect for me. I'm going to be caring for a 96 year old woman who lives on her own because she lives in a waterfront home and the family wants to keep her at home as long as possible . It's just two days a week and she performed as a dancer on Vaudeville! She taught until she was 92!!! So that and my children and grandchildren are my purpose and I Love it! I will be 63 this month but I feel busier than ever. Right now I'm leaving to go help my daughter and son in law who just bought a house 5 minutes away from my house and the movers come Friday! I'm terribly excited!!! Have a wonderful week and I loved last week's video! ❤️
Your enthusiasm for life is contagious! I love your creative, positive re-scripting of your life and the way you share your joy! Thank you for your generosity of spirit and keen observations and passions. I love making personalized aprons for all the kind volunteers at the local soup kitchen.
Susan, I've never been a fan of the color orange. But, I LOVE the artwork of the lilies with the orange frame! I wouldn't hesitate to buy it! And, it was much larger on your wall than seeing it in the store. I so enjoy going thrift shopping with you and especially then watching what you do with them! When I watch, I always have to hit 10 seconds back, over and over, to get a good look.
Hi Susan, I love ALL your videos! Thank you for the reminder that we can write or rewrite our future! I turned 64 this month! Wow, where does the time go??? I did fall into a slump, then said Lord, renew my mind. Life isn't over!! We have a new chapter to write! I am back on track, and feeling good! ❤ Love you!
I love everything you do and how you do it! Your love of living things on earth, beauty, art, photography, and music is wonderful and I’m so glad you share your passions with us!! Thank you from a fellow romantic, Patrice.
Oh Susan I loved the video last week...paying tribute to a person's life is a great honor. I enjoy learning about a regular person and a woman who lived her life alone. I enjoy all your messages and the ways you encourage others.
You are so talented in communicating with feelings and emotions. I am amazed at your talent in photography, videography. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I am entertained with every video and look forward to them. Congratulations on being so accomplished with your gift to us. You are a beautiful and wonderful person.
I luv thrifting. I furnished my first apt. at 18 with garage sale, auction sales and thrift store items. Today at 66 I still luv it. My passions are my pets, working in my flower beds, decorating, painting , crafting and being with friends.
Thank you for this... So enjoyable. Your bathroom is beautiful and so is your Parisian themed closet. I just love the way you stage beautiful items...you have such an eye! I had a good chuckle when I saw the "adopted children." The girlfriends on the water was so special and caused me to reminisce about my own youth and the friends who were so precious. Thank you, Susan, for this sweet slice of life today. Best to you and Desi ❣️🌺🌼🌸
I enjoy your videos. I am 61 and living life and I am happy. I am passionate about my RUclips channels. They are small but I appreciate all those who take to time to watch and enjoy. I love your sense of hope, we all need to keep that in our hearts - it keeps you young too👍😁 Thx for the video.
I just found you tonight for the first time and have watched like 3-4 of your videos in a row. The first one covered being single/lonely. I’m a 63 yr. old widower and actually feel better already after listening to you. Thank you and God bless you for your insight. You have so much wisdom. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
I LOVE and much need your videos! I'm in a really dark and lonely place in my life right now... no longer married to a violently abusive man, but my son is 1000 miles away in the military and my daughter just went off to college. My mom died when she was only 67 from a heart attack, and I'm 61 yrs old. I feel like I have no purpose and I'm not needed or loved, really, by anyone. I stumbled upon your videos the other day and have been binge watching them... THANK YOU! You are a BEAUTIFUL soul, inside and out ♥️
Your thrift stores are the BEST! I went thrifting today and came home empty handed, but the thrill is the hunt, and I have found some treasures in the past. I always play a game with myself when you go thrifting, I try to guess what you end up buying, I am usually right 😀 We have something in common, my laundry room is Parisian themed… and my closet is Old Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe etc…. Speaking of Marilyn the dress your wearing reminds me of a Marilyn dress, something about it 👗👛👠
I so love watching you and Desi. I love your gentle heart. I am 75 years of age and single living alone with my cat . I have been Line dancing for seven years and I also go to Zumba Gold. My passion in life is to keep socially engaged. I go to a SPA pool every week too..You'll still be beautiful when you get to my age Susan. Please keep up your lovely videos your so inspirational and thank you so much for sharing your life with us all beautiful lady.
I was one of the viewers that didn’t think I would be interested in Vivian Maier. It was absolutely fabulous. I learned so much about the art of photography. Discovering her life made me reflect on my own. I encourage everyone to watch it and continue learning. Great job!!
Susan, I found your channel today and I have been binge watching for 5 hours now. You are such an inspiration to me at 55 and soon to be divorced as well as my mother at 72 who lost my father 3 years ago after 52 years of marriage. When my mom comes for a visit we play in my art room everyday. I love paper and vintage fabrics! I create journals while my mom paints, draws or creates the pinterest craft of the day. We adore our time spent together and are so grateful to not have a significant other at this moment because if we did we would miss this special time together! Life is precious and we need to do what brings Joy and Contentment to our hearts! Thank you for the uplifting messages of encouragement!
Oh those sugar cups are beautiful, the colors!! Oh I watched your previous video, so many beyond amazing photos, beautifully done Susan, thank you. I'm very passionate about caring for the animals and furbabies, raccoons visit our backyard and the Mamas bring their babies! They're so cute but we respect that they are wild and give them space. I'm also very passionate about art in every way. Music, dance, painting, making jewelry and writing poems. My Mother in law left her piano to me, I've been playing, oh the feeling of playing piano is such a joy for me. Have a beautiful week Susan! Big hugs to you and Desi ❤️ 💖.
My passion is art. I was in a car accident years ago and could only move one arm or without pain. I started to paint. That became my Passion. Prior to that I used to make handmade gemstone jewelry. But you need 2 hands to do that. And one of my hands was useless. That brought me to art. I also write poetry. I must have seven hundred poems. All I need to write a poem is my brain and heart. So it will not tax me physically. Lastly, I have a passion/dedication to watching your videos.
I quess my passion is my tiny garden. I feel like I am not worthy of being needed anymore. But you know what that tiny garden needs me to care for it. Weeding, watering fertiliziing and just enjoying its beauty gives me sometime look forward to each day. With every bloom it tells me I am still needed and life is good. I made the world a little but lovelier. Hope those who walk past my garden see it's beauty as I do.
I am not as lucky as you are when thrifting and I love the treasures you find. The whimsical chandelier is priceless and the orange print would be perfect for my new boho decor. I sometimes purchase vintage decor on Ebay so I will be looking for your shop.I spent a week in Paris for my 50th Birthday (twenty years ago) and it became the most beautiful city I have ever visited. I have got to get back over there while I am still healthy and spry. I have been practicing Yoga for 27years and that is my passon.
I think you need a bigger home to house all your beautiful belongings, especially as you continue to purchase more. You are so lucky to find all these wonderful things, you definitely have an eye for quality and unusual pieces. 🥰
Susan, I love you. Your thoughts are my thoughts. I feel exactly as you described. I need to find a passion again. Thanks for the encouragement. Loved your video.
Beautiful finds at the thrift store! My feeling is that glass swan will sell quickly on ebay...my Grandma Ligutti had one just like that on her coffee table. Things like that are timeless. I too have passion for thrifting but my deepest passion is dance. I'm getting closer to the 60 yr old mark and still dance in a troupe at fundraisers. It's a rare type of dance ( Classic Egyptian ) which I did all through pregnancy and was hooked. If I was in a wheelchair or immobile...I'd dance with my eyes... Lol! I will never stop...it is my meditation and medicine for life. Thank you for sharing and sure hope you enjoy all your new found treasures.
Oh Susan, your video last week was a work of art, the best thing you have done in my opinion. Please continue to make these kinds of videos at least occasionally. You are really talented. Of course your regular content is amazing and we all love Desi.❤️
I appreciate your channel so very much. I missed the video from last week as I was moving in my new place, so I must go back and watch it. I am now living my retired life and loving it. My passion, since I was a little girl, was to be around horses and now I am! I have to pinch myself to make sure it’s real some days. It is so beautiful here and I am truly enjoying this next season of my life!
Susan - I have never commented before on your channel (altho I watch each week), but feel compelled to do so today. I found you during pandemic thru rxstrmom I believe... IMHO, the tribute you did to Vivian Maier last week was one of your best videos. Maybe it spoke to the artist in me. What an incredible story she has. What an incredible talent. We are so lucky Mr. Maloof purchased her storage belongings and put her photographs out into the world. Thank you for your tribute. I can see why you admire her and her work. 100,000 unseen photos - WOW! I agree with you, she did want them to be found. I love that you hit the streets in honor of her. I can see you felt alive in doing so. I also love the photos you took this week of the friends on the dock - they will treasure them forever. How kind of you. I fell in love with Desi first, but I do like your content, the way you present it, and your messages of positivity. Especially during such difficult times. It is appreciated. Thank you.
Seeing those to girls , ready to start their adventure in life, made me a little envious . The feeling of summer, with all those endless days of playing as a child , so much to explore and all the time in the world to do what you wanted. I hope they see your channel and always remember that moment in time. as best friends.
So beautifully said, Becky...I think back to when I was a young girl, sitting the dock and I wonder how many women envied me? ...These young ladies plan on being doctors...but someday they will be very old and hopefully remember how that sunshine felt on their faces...and I also hope their smiles never fade....Love to you and yours, Sues & Desi
You seem to be the sweetest, most patient human being I have ever met. Your positive attitude shines through and May only good things be in your future.
Hi, Susan. This is my second time posting to your channel. I also live alone and will be 73 this Fall. I lost my husband in 2019 to a stroke/fall. Long story short, he was recovering from the stroke and he fell and had a brain hemorrhage, which he never recovered from. We were married when I was 17 and he was 21. We had almost a 54 year marriage, not all great years, but we survived. He suffered from depression all of his life and it was hard to see him this way. I was so lonely the first two years after his death, but finally realized I had to pull myself together. I sold our big house on 5 acres and moved to a ranch in a subdivision on 1/8 of an acre. I love it here, it's very quiet, rural, yet close to grocery shopping, a Walmart and the interstate. I moved just months before the housing market started soaring in price. I fenced in the backyard immediately for my fur babies. I have 3 little dogs that keep me company and a cat. If you are alone, I would like to suggest that you get a dog. They are the best companion ever and don't talk down or back to you! You won't regret it. Susan, I loved the pink roses bowl you got. Last year I decided I wanted to redo my bedroom in shabby chic/victorian look. I got the quilt from Amazon and have been collecting (from Goodwill) when I come across something that will work. For years, I have only put one piece of decor on a wall. You have shown me you can do so much more! My walls are starting to look better, and I love it. Thank you! I do have one question for you if you don't mind answering. How do you organize your earrings? I bought three containers with separate compartments, but it's just not working as I had hoped. I really would like them on the wall in the closet where I can see them. Your Georgia internet friend, Devonne
Good Morning Susan! I can see why you are a poet. Your videos seem to take on the life of a piece of poetry. I think I left a comment last week about Vivian Maier. I thought it was wonderful! If not for you, most of us would never have known this woman existed. You gave this woman a voice (through her life and photographs). Thanks again. Best Regards from GA! :) Oh....I have so many "passions" in my life, there are too many to list. But a few are...Jesus and the beauty of this world that He has given us, dogs, my wonderful husband of 50 years, our family, our home, friends, a cup of coffee, I could go on but could get mundane for some. We can decide to be passionate or to see the world as nothing special, I will choose passion every time. It makes every day a treasure!
Dearest Susan - you are blessed with the ability to bring joy to all who watch your videos. This is an interesting time of life, when your children are grown & living their own lives. Or for the first time, you’re facing health issues or loss of loved ones & dear friends. We really need to make a choice not to waste this time of our lives. We must continually look for what brings us joy, even in the little things. You’ve nailed it! Thank you for teaching us how as well. Much love to you & Desi❤️
Thank you for this beautifully woven video. I loved it. I needed to hear your words. I loved seeing Desi resting on the daybed with the sunlight gently warming his face. ~Belinda🌺🌺🌺
Susan, I always look forward to your videos. Enjoy them all! I'm still trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do with the rest of my life. The world is my oyster I know but, I still haven't a clue. I'm workin' on it. 🙂
When my daughter was in middle school I decorated her room as a birthday gift. I painted it pink and used black, white to create a Paris Boutique. I hand painted “shelves” on the wall and had different areas of the shop, such as purses, perfume, etc. from thrift stores. I used the street name of an actual shopping area in Paris and made an awning from black and white canvas to go over her closet. I used art just like the one you picked up in this video! Her bedding was black/white toile and had curtains with an overlay of black string curtains. She loved it. I ended up breaking my wrist painting those “shelves”…lol. Still have a frame with a pair of pink beaded coin purses of panties and a bra hanging in my bathroom. She is now 28!
I am passionate about being creative. Making something out of nothing. I am a widow of 5 years. I had a wo derful life. I honor my husband by keeping my home beautiful. My gardens keep me busy including vegetables and flowers. When I get down I get busy creating mosaic art. Living alone was an adjustment not eady at first. Now I am feeling more myself and open to the next chapter in my life.
I have found a new passion in singing! My brother has a beautiful voice and entertains at our Country Club once a month. He also hosts a Karaoke night once a month and I started singing 3 or 4 songs every month. It's a great room and I love picking my songs and rehearsing so that I am ready to entertain the audience! It may sound silly but I really enjoy this! I may be in my 70's now, but I still feel young and interested in so many things. I too choose life. I have had to or else I would just die. When I lost my only child I thought my life was over but then I finally realized that he would be so ashamed of me giving up and becoming a blob. So I pushed myself into life and I am enjoying every minute that I can. Sure there are still bad times but I push through them and look forward to what else is before me.
Susan, I just KNEW you were going to buy the little kids with the doll!😁 Your apartment, especially the creative touches and the way you put it all together - stuns me! What an artiste you are. I would absolutely love it if you would take us on another video tour - especially your gorgeous ‘work room’ and your closet. They are so gorgeous and when the camera moved away - all I could think was “no! Come back and show is more please! You and Desi are my special Saturday night treat. Thank you so very much. Love from Ohio! 👏🙋♀️👏👏👏🥰❤️‼️
I loved the Vivian Maier video!! Just watching you enjoy what you were doing was great!! Also, bringing Vivian's work to us. I may be old but never too old to learn. I have been in a stuck pattern of oh where did my creativity go? What can I do? Hopefully soon I can shake that off and find something that I can really get interested in again. Thank you Susan for doing so much for so many of us. Brightest blessings to you and that gangsta Desi!!
Such a wonderful visit!! Loved seeing the friends in the park...they were so beautiful!! Sending good thoughts that you do make it to Paris!! I am glad you picked up the little boy n girl! I think they are Mary n Joseph with baby Jesus!! The world can be a frightful place. My hobby is cross-stitch...it brings me great joy!!! Have a beautiful, safe week, Susan and Desi!! Lots of love...💗💗💗
I read negative comments when I go to Google your name. I realized these people are so jealous. You are so nice and friendly. I see myself in you and hopefully one day we can meet and go shopping ❤. You are what I wish more people were like. They can call us crazy, bipolar and fake but God made us the way we are for a purpose and now it is our season. Let's go for it. Love your videos ❤.
You said it all concerning aging. I’m trying to continue to age. You’re right, it’s right. I don’t understand why I won’t to continue. I’m in treatment. God bless you Susan!
God be with you during treatment💫 I barely survived mine… fight… I am too. No one promised us a rose 🌹 garden. This is a bit thorny right now. Prayers for you 🙏🏻 for a full recovery ❤️🩹
Try something new, like a new routine, a morning walk, buy a new houseplant, or try a different method of preparing your morning coffee. Little things to look forward too can be a mood booster!!
What a sweet lady you are! I found it difficult to think of something Im passionate about when I looked at my life and I seemed to be a lot of ‘used to be ‘s. But I did find an answer and I do have passion for something. I realised my present role was as a grandmother and I discovered the importance of that role that all us grandmothers have in our grandchildrens lives. I find being a grandmother is more relaxed than being a parent. The expectations I put on myself as a parent bringing up children isn’t there. I can just love and spoil my grandchildren without any of the responsibilities that a parent has. And I know, with a passion you can never love too much.
I love your love for Desi. Your sweet way with him reminds me of my mom and her dog - both have passed and though a few tears well up it also brings such sweet memories. My mom had to start over many times in her life and she was such a testament to what one can do with the right mindset - the kind of message you are creating with your channel. I’ve had to start over as well and have become a huge fan of your warm positivity and discussions about relatable thoughts and challenges at this stage of life - especially for those of us who find ourselves in a place other than where we thought we would be. 🙏
Thank you Susan you are a wonderful inspiration.. I’m passionate about life..Thank you and Desi again.. I always look forward to seeing you both and your videos.. Have a wonderful weekend..!!
Thank you for this video. It's very touching and very moving I'm glad I'm on the ride with you. I'm new to your channel and enjoy it so much 62 and single. Raising a disabled daughter and a disabled grandson. I'm unable to go anywhere my daughter lives in her bed. So it's wonderful listening to you speak. Thanks again
Please don’t change how you end with you and Desi. It is perfect. It brought me back the first time I heard it and I love it every time you say “It’s a deal, we will be here.” Hugs to Desi!
A beautiful video with such soulful content, always happy to see Desi by your side, he has such a gentle face. Towards the end of your video, I had a huge smile on my face when I saw the statue of the kids with a doll came home with you!!! I always say “It’s the little things that makes us happy”… Enjoy!!!
They are all so expensive now, I do not donate anymore since they seem to gauge to have people that resell, not what thrift stores and Goodwill was intended to do.
It's never too late to live your dream. When we retire, we open a new portal for living. Finding the passion? It's not "out there" -- it's already inside us, waiting to be discovered and brought into being. Thank you for your show @LittlePoet. Also, I loved your previous show about Vivian Maier and I watched it to the end. Her photography gave her life meaning. Photographs reveal feelings that may otherwise be hidden from the naked eye. She saw it. Thank you for introducing us to her and her unique street photography.
Another wonderful video. And I did watch, and enjoyed last week's video. Getting older is tough, but there is still joy to be found each and every day. My joy is my daughter and grandkids, my sweet Labrador Brody, growing food from little seeds (talk about hope) and finally at 67a peaceful life.
Hi Susan! To answer your question what is my passion? I discovered my Love Of Writing but not for sake of just writing but to reach out and touch someone’s Mind and Heart to encourage and upbuild to think and mediate with reflection! Which I must say you do so perfectly! My other Passion is my Patio Garden which I’ve tried to make my Escape and Oasis! Since I live in a Small Studio this is an extension of outdoor living with living Plants and Flowers, I Nurture with great Attention and Love! Since I can’t afford on my set income a Pet like your sweet Desi my Plants and Flowers inside and out are my special Pets! I wish you and Desi a Lovely Weekend! Please continue to keep true to yourself and your passions they are Beautiful to hear about and watch every week! Thx so much for sharing! Brava! 👏🏻♥️🤗
Hola Your Response is so Beautiful ✝️ I too Love our Lord~Savior & Creator 🕊️ Gracias 4 sharing TRUTH ❣️
Oh Belva, Thank you for your honest response! Sadly, I think Many of us can identify! There is a common thread of Love and appreciation that resonates through all of us. Love to you ❤
Belva: that's a wonderful passion to have!
When I stopped mourning the life that wasn’t and started living the life that is my whole world changed. I live every day with purpose now. Susan I think I have you and your channel to thank for that!
Exactly right!!
Gardening is so rewarding!!!
God bless us all on this journey🌸💖🌸💖🌸🙏
hugs, so sorry your going through this alone
I hope things shine for you from now on. I am just wanting to wish you well...
You're not alone Dee, we are all rooting for you! Stay strong and keep trusting in the Lord for He is with you and loves you. God bless. 💗🙏🏻💗
Check out senior activity center. Take classes with others in similar situation.
@sheriw53 Congratulations on your retirement!! Happy days are ahead of you!🎉🎀
I loved last week’s video about Vivian Maier. You honored her in the most beautiful, passionate and honorable way, which brought awareness to a very talented artist who lived an unsung life. The video may not have gotten a lot of likes, but it touch deeply a few people like me. Thank you for it🙏❤️❤️
Absolutely. Susan should do a series on different women artists, creators, mothers, etc!
Me too, I think it is one of my top 10 videos.
I’m just learning at 80years old to start painting signs of all things. I get out of my head and focus on each letter. I can do that for hours. A great feeling of wellbeing comes over me and stays for hours. Very cool.
I love watching Desi's face when you are speaking..You can see it in his eyes how much he loves you:^))
I always dreamed of going to Paris with a man that loves me. I'll be 58 in Nov and single for 6 years, I am totally content and not interested in a relationship. I've been saving money and plan to treat myself to that trip to Paris for my 60th birthday, even if it means going alone.
Have a wonderful time when you visit Paris! It will be a magical birthday 🎉🌹
Yess! Just go and have a great time.
Definitely go!! There are many tour companies for groups and they are fabulous for people who are traveling alone!! You totally don't need a man to have fun and see the world!!
Yes! Go while you still have energy! Enjoy every second!
Susan, because we are all friends here..... your passions in life are ours too. I loved being introduced to Vivian and I can see why you were so passionate about her life. Love to you and Desi. ❤️
I loved your words here so much Rosemary...we really are all in this together!
I make handmade “junk journals”, I discovered them about 4 years ago and found my passion. I shop thrift stores and antique markets for vintage items such as vintage lace, ephemera, and old books and “recycle” the items into my journals. I love the creative process of designing something beautiful from found objects.❣️
Yeeaah Mary ! ME TOO ! Such a wonderful passion to have ! Just not enough hours in a day ! :) hugs to you !
Have fun!
@@chantellucky4565 I mainly make for family and friends, and friends of friends, that way there is no pressure ❣️
Your Vivian Maier video was spectacular. Not only was it a very interesting story about an amazing artist, but your production of it is first rate. You have so much talent putting together your videos.
Wow, thank you Chirs!!! A very happy weekend to you!!! xo Susan & Dez
🌹❤🌷❤🌼❤🌻❤🌺
Susan, thank you for being you!
It's not over.❤
This was a very uplifting video Susan, thank you for always showing up for people like me.🙏
My Mother in law used to send my daughter gifts & would say " It's so ugly, it's cute".
The world needs you to tell us the world needs us. You can spark the passion also. I love Desi and you.
Thank you for reminding us that the story has not been completely written and that the book is not yet over.
Thanks for introducing us to Vivian, I truly enjoyed learning about her❣️
I'm so glad Mary!!!
I just love Desi’s sweet face and on a particularly lousy day today he makes me smile. 😻
Watching all of your video's brightens my day
Desi is so precious I love his bow tie she is so blessed to be with you.
THANK YOU! You are a BEAUTIFUL soul, inside and out ♥️
Susan, your videos are always delightful. I would love to spend a day thrifting with you
I will be 65 wow it’s a peaceful enjoyable time. I enjoy my two grandgirlies and thankful I’m here ! 😊 God Bless you sweetie .💜✝️💜
Your thrift stores are the BEST!
I went thrifting today and came home empty handed, but the thrill is the hunt, and I have found some treasures in the past.
I always play a game with myself when you go thrifting, I try to guess what you end up buying, I am usually right 😀
We have something in common, my laundry room is Parisian themed… and my closet is Old Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe etc….
Love that little Desi he’s so precious and the matching poke dots to much!!!!!!!!From one Italian to another😍
I think you need a bigger home to house all your beautiful belongings, especially as you continue to purchase more. You are so lucky to find all these wonderful things, you definitely have an eye for quality and unusual pieces. 🥰
Susan, I love you. Your thoughts are my thoughts. I feel exactly as you described. I need to find a passion again. Thanks for the encouragement. Loved your video.
Like always you bring us the most beautiful and wise videos, thank you. A kiss for Desi 🥰😍
So glad you bought the chimes . I can imagine waking up on a windy morning hearing them will be beautiful
My 15 month old grandbaby always loves to see Desy. He stops what he is doing to go get in front of the computer to see him. So cute.
Congrats on 75,000 subscribers Susan!!
I would love to see you start a second channel that shows “how the sausage is made”! I know it is a lot of work, but your supporters are here for it!
Oh, I love this idea! Susan, I would follow it, too!
I was kind of down tonight, like you said poor me……my life didn’t turn out how I wanted. You lifted me up, Thank you!
Oh Janet, you melt my heart!!!! I also feel so humbled showing my home...It's not fancy...but it's so peaceful here :) xxoo
I make quilts, I do this just about everyday!! I'm obsessed with them!! It's what makes me happy!
Do you sell them on Ebay?? I bet they are beautiful!!!
Hi, I love you and Desi
I love animals
Such a wonderful visit!! Loved seeing the friends in the park...they were so beautiful!! Sending good thoughts that you do make it to Paris!! I am glad you picked up the little boy n girl! I think they are Mary n Joseph with baby Jesus!! The world can be a frightful place. My hobby is cross-stitch...it brings me great joy!!! Have a beautiful, safe week, Susan and Desi!! Lots of love...💗💗💗
Cindy I thought the same thing for sure
they are definitely Mary and Joseph & baby Jesus🥰
I love Desi's new hair cut makes him look so cute! I love your thrift store finds, I am never that lucky! Way to go!
I find that I have to go often to get "liucky" when thrifting! Then suddenly the perfect item appears!
I look forward to your show on Saturday nights. It is a ritual now! It has been an extremely difficult year, and I always look for hope and renewal.
I love the froggy sitting next to the mom, dad and the little bundle of joy!
Please don’t change how you end with you and Desi. It is perfect. It brought me back the first time I heard it and I love it every time you say
“It’s a deal, we will be here.”
Hugs to Desi!
Great video, Susan!! I love your thrift finds. What a store! My store is way too expensive!!
Brava! 👏🏻♥️🤗
