I loved X but this film, what can I say excellent, can't wait for Maxine.i loved the way this was filmed the colour grading the stylisation all perfect .costumes perfect, casting top notch and I do hope Mia Goth and Ty West(and all involved) get the recognition they deserve for this film .

This movie is really a character study of Pearl with horror/slasher elements attached. Despite being a one trick pony playing the exact same *Jack Nicholson's touched wife in The Shinning* esque type character in every movie that she's in, Mia Goths performance as Pearl is just off the freakin' Richter scale mind-blowing phenomenal, I mean shove an Oscar into her hand already. To give you some idea, Mia Goths performance is right up there with Kathy Bates in Misery just jaw-dropping throughout. The way Mia Goth played this touched a few sandwiches short of a picknick character without it being a parody performance getting us the audience to truly believe her dillusionality just like Toni Collette as Muriel in Muriel's Wedding just has to be seen to be believed. This movie totally hinges on Mia Goths performance where we the audience are like How on earth did she deliver that unnerving too good for comfort insanely method performance? Seriously Mia Goths performance has to be seen to be believed! And if like me you relish in top notch astonishing method performances on the big screen where the actor/actress removes their celebrity mask and totally embodies the character, do not miss Mia Goths performance as Pearl in the cinema..

Pearl isn't horror. It's just moderately gory. It's a non-story about a narcissistic psychopath who, when denied the outside validation she craves, realizes she doesn't have any empathy for others, so she starts killing people who make her feel bad. That's all it's about. There's nothing scary or suspenseful about it, it's not even shocking. I saw the first movie but could barely recall it, because it's much the same. They aren't real horror movies, they aren't good at the horror aspect at all, and there's nothing else to them. Mia Goth is good, but a performance can't carry a movie that has nothing else to offer.
That was easily the most bizarre, effed up movie I've watched. I don't mind gory, but my goodness that main character was something else. Definitely sick.. mentally!
Brilliant Movie, So well done, from the story line to the period setting to Mia Goths amazing performance... An instant Classic 9.5 out of 10. Unfortunately X didn't get near this but still an ok movie.

I had a thought and feel free to tell me if it's silly or not, if ti west decided to make another movie in this universe, what if there was one showing peral and howard killing people, yes yes we know how peral became the way she is and we know that howard obviously still stayed with her but im so curious to see how that conversation went and to see them killing people together and maybe almost getting caught or something, maybe it's pointless and probably doesn't add anything to the story but definitely would have loved to see them as a young killer couple and just an excuse to see more of mia goth in action

She’d be posing as a regular person and then when her online friends get invited to her house she tortures and murders them if they look at her a certain way. Then her mother would try to take her phone away and it won’t work cause Pearl is sneaky and can’t live without social media and she’ll be famous as a mentally ill social media killer
