I love the prep episodes. I would like to see the beach front at the end of the arterial, be a sort of “ tropical resort “ with waterfront hotels and possibly a broad walk style pier like in Daytona or Mrytle Beach. Overall this series is THE Best cities skylines content out there in my opinion and keep up the amazing work 🎉
Master egg, I've been following you for a while now. You were awesome in the past, but Orchid Bay is on a different level. Made me start my own city after not playing CS for over a year. Theres no doubt you got good, real good. Thanks!
These are one of my favorite type of episodes, networking is both stressful and relaxing in an odd way. The canal just adds another layer to this build!
Cool. Nearly 1000 likes for a network prep episode. Canal looks great! Can you set hourly room rates at the seedy Sharon Motel?. Here's an idea for the greater Ka-Sharon area (or Sha-Karen as they say in Sharon): I think a sports venue between Karen and Sharon would be just what's needed for the two towns to settle their differences. American football would fit the bill as I'm sure America spawned the first Karen.
Many thanks. My cities always fall apart because I don't plan far enough ahead, so I find episodes like this to be very helpful for my last cities (for now) in CS1.
I agree with the others, that the network build episodes are really fun. Since watching your videos I've gotten a lot better at pre-planning the networks. In fact my style now kind of matches how you do builds for each episode. I'll focus on small areas at one time depending on what is needed. This episode comes at a great time. I'm currently working on a Chicago like city on the Shifting Sands map and I'm getting close to planning out my downtown. Thank you for continuing to put out such fun CS content!
Love network planning. I love to see your thought process for future planning/fool-proofing :) I can't wait for Sharon to be filled out though - exciting!
dangit man, hah I was getting so used to 2 episodes a week!! and as cool as all the citys 2 stuff is, I just want Orchid bay right now, it feels like an old friend coming back to visit haha :)
My parents' town has a canal and it's like a combination of this and the mass transit canals where the terrain is cut away, but rocky/unfinished and then actual canal structure sits at the lower height. Every since I noticed I've been dying to try it in game, because my canal skills are crap, lol.
I enjoy these episodes a lot, huge fan of network planning 🎉 you know that I love your vanilla work, since the good old Palaven and Noveria but have to say that when I was staring at the highway intersection where 2+2 join into 4 lanes I was thinking: Someone give move it + network multitool to this man!! 😂😂
I have finally caught up with all the episodes since i started watching a month ago. As an avid vanilla enjoyer I want to thnak you for this amazing series, by far my favourite i've seen so far. Love the build guide, P.S. I would love to see a full zoo park at some point. Keep up the amazing work!!
This is inspiring. The best console builder is Ricky King, unfortunately no commentary. I am stoked for CS2, amazing & what makes more impact is when devs play their own game. I believe you're one of the few ppl who shoes enthusiasm to be back at work, good to hear you had a gr8 vacation.
Imagine if you did the canal through both Karen and Sharon. That could've given that opportunity to call their rivalry something like The Canal Wars on some derby day lower league football matches. Maybe Orchid United and City be the 1st division teams.
Karen and Sharon residents will constantly talk about how “they’re from the *other* side of the canal, if you know what I mean 😒” when they’re gossiping.
Network planning episodes are some of the most fun, I love seeing your thought process! Sharon and Karen definitely need rival footbal teams, would add great flavour to the town rivalry that's building here! The sad part about vanilla is that I know the perfect asset for Sharon's train station, but it's sadly from the workshop 😭
Great episode egg, glad to see you back in Orchid Bay question: wich camera mod do you use to see at ground level and under bridges? also, would you recommend any cinematic camera mod?
love this!! that canal is something special! so refreshing to see something aside from the glitchy canals avaliable in game. those have always been janky for me! might use this method instead!
I might bein the minority here, but I am not so hot on the canal having turns. In addition to many bridges that go over it with pillars in various places (some in the middle, other to the sides), riding a ferry through that canal is not for the faint-hearted 😅 Maybe jusr one slightly soft bend, and bridge pillars on each side of the canal would be less risky.
You could have the flyover lane of the couplet system do a loop around itself, making it use less space alongside the roads it connects to and letting you connect the slip lane without the awkward long stretch. (Also, in Terreggian lingo, getting two left or two right Twix bars in your pack is referred to as "pulling a Karen/Sharon")
Hi Egg! Love your content, quick question: do you do all your water pipes and/or electricity poles off camera or do you have a mod that removes the need for them? Thanks so much
Shame the content creator bridges had to be sacrificed for the trolleybus. Wish you could have both. Maybe you could raise the terrain to be flush with the rail line like you’ve done elsewhere as that gives the vanilla flexibility to easily remove it as and when needed
I feel like Sharon should have a Modular Prison Build, it can be the place where people are taken where they become Karens and Sharons. This is all completely made up for the Orchid Bay Lore
Did not expect the ad lib - "less pressure is usually better, in most cases... unless you're bleeding out or something." Good to have you back Egg!!
Good to be back Kieran!

That was so funny when he said that

Network planning episodes are easily my favourite. I often struggle with them in my cities, so I find them extremely interesting.
Hope it helped!

Thank you friend, very kind of you to say! Glad you think so :)
The thrill of this vid, in all of its beauty, and knowing that the build is in the next one, uploaded and ready to view...my Wednesday night is MADE.
These are one of my favorite type of episodes, networking is both stressful and relaxing in an odd way. The canal just adds another layer to this build!
network planning episodes are so cool to watch and are soo intresting and my favourite and satisfying at the end when all the cars are on the road
Network builds are the tits! Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. I was lost last week with no Orchid Bay to watch😂
It was great thank you! Haha she's back in full force now!
Really glad the algorithm reminded me about this series! I love these builds so much, thank you for making them!
one thing i rarely see builders add to their highway/motorway builds are services! some real nice builds like Reading services or something
I love when you guys give each other shout outs. It's like movie Easter eggs.

Welcome back from your vacation Egg! I really enjoy how Orchid Bay is coming along!
"Well hello people" is the best intro
My parents' town has a canal and it's like a combination of this and the mass transit canals where the terrain is cut away, but rocky/unfinished and then actual canal structure sits at the lower height. Every since I noticed I've been dying to try it in game, because my canal skills are crap, lol.

Every time you mention "preparing" it makes me giggle because of prepare to farming. And you say it a lot in this episode 😂😭
You’re so cute bro ❤️
Yaayy🎉🎉 Orchid Bay ep, just as network prep is important your video is also important for my afternoon ❤❤.
Oh yes, network preparation! The sign of what’s to come… ;)
Will there also be a town called Darren?
Imagine if you did the canal through both Karen and Sharon. That could've given that opportunity to call their rivalry something like The Canal Wars on some derby day lower league football matches. Maybe Orchid United and City be the 1st division teams.
I laughed out loud when..." Any choosing to come to Karen? There's a few...I'm sure they'll regret that choice once they get in there." 🤣
Thank you for providing these vanilla videos! It helps to inspire us console players!
Karen and Sharon residents will constantly talk about how “they’re from the *other* side of the canal, if you know what I mean 😒” when they’re gossiping.

what is the asset btw?
Great episode egg, glad to see you back in Orchid Bay

i was not ready to actually hear from our eggy that he knows about imperatur xD
train lines often follow rivers at the bottom of the valley like the new river and the potomac
glad to have you back
Man I hope I can become as good at building networks as you are, these are almost perfect!
Thank you 😊
A footbridge next to a walkable road rather than being next to a highway or railway.
This is such a smart way to build canals
Citing Sharpe theme song.
Now that's soldiering!
Missed orchid bay so much 😂
Hi Egg! Love your content, quick question: do you do all your water pipes and/or electricity poles off camera or do you have a mod that removes the need for them? Thanks so much
Welcome back! Another happy Monday
Hope you had a fab holiday Egg!
Yay! I am glad you are back.
I actually did some network planning on my first city recently although it's not THIS good but it's decent
Can u myb make another little city that is seperate from main city and connect it with road, trains, buses…
Omg love the comment you made about pressure lol 😂and as always i cannot get enough of your videos.
I do think if there ends up being a town across the river from the new station, it needs to be called Darren.
Shame the content creator bridges had to be sacrificed for the trolleybus. Wish you could have both. Maybe you could raise the terrain to be flush with the rail line like you’ve done elsewhere as that gives the vanilla flexibility to easily remove it as and when needed
Yesssssss it returns
I feel like you should ask the community whether they’re more of a Shazza or a Kazza 😂
Once i understand network am going to do lots of crazy stuff 😅
I feel like Sharon should have a Modular Prison Build, it can be the place where people are taken where they become Karens and Sharons. This is all completely made up for the Orchid Bay Lore
10:06 IS NOT IN THE MIDDLE AAAAAAAAAA
The rural town across the bridge from Sharon should be called Darren.
I was thinking that lol
Love these network planning episodes, and as always, gave me lots on inspiration. Thanks for all you do Egg!
Thanks for watching mate, glad you enjoy them :)
Pretty devastated to see the truss bridge replaced with trolley 😭
Good job Egg 😊
play this video at 2x muted , and play any song you like in background , it'll be a great timepass :)
so Sharon is technically a Karen+ (no ads for a monthly subscription)
Have you ever considered starting a cities skylines channel
What about karen and sharons brother shawn? Does he not get a village?
What map is this?
Bay of Rivers
i always lose my motivation after watching videos like these :D
We're back baby
