The first Castlevania game is amazing and still the best for me. I've beaten 11 Castlevania games last fall on the Switch. I still have 5 left to beat, and my backlog is growing too. I started the new year with Star Wars: Outlaws on PS5 Pro, which will be my main game for now until I complete it, including the DLCs. You should try Fitness Boxing 3 on Nintendo Switch-it's a great game and a good warm-up before or after exercise. I think you would like it. I'm also diving into The Last of Us Part I and II this year, along with a lot of other games on both Switch and PS5 Pro. Great video, very fun to watch. Time is your worst enemy when you're a gamer.
Oh man, can't wait to watch you play Stardew Valley! Such an insanely fun game. Can't believe new stuff is still being added (all for free). I'll definitely be watching when you get around to that.
Golden sun was a great GBA edition! I’ve got to get around to earthbound this year as well. Platinum Spider-Man and TLOU (Great Games)! You’ll have a blast with any Castlevania that you pick up. Black Myth Wu-kong is fucking incredible (working on platinum). I just started Elden Ring yesterday and I’m loving it. Play all of Hideo Kojima games!! MGS is the Best (pretty on point with the current times)!! Death Stranding is one that I’m still currently taking my sweet-ass time with. Mario 64 is always a fun experience to come back too. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Josie! That backlog of yours is looking pretty stacked, and I know I've still got a lot to go through myself when it comes to the Switch. Almost at 20K, nice!
Getting a Gen Z's perspective on Earthbound will be interesting. It's a cult classic with an irresistible 90's vibe, but obviously by modern standards it might not hit all the marks for you. The entire Mother series is a standout within the Nintendo catalog; it's unique and inspired all sorts of games in the indie scene.
That's a good list of games worth playing! When you get to Castlevania, try Dawn of Sorrow! It's on the Switch in the Dominus collection and it's not frustratingly hard like many of the other ones in the series.
I’m actually in the middle of my first playthrough of Ocarina of Time 3D and won’t spoil anything for obvious reasons, but I do personally kind of agree with you about it but not completely, (let’s just say that I’ve got kind of love-hate attitude towards it). In general, I’d describe the game as fun to play but exhausting to hundred percent, but that’s just my own personal opinion. All that aside, I’m super hyped for your upcoming streams hop you have happy new year Josie! Your content always makes my day👍. Edit: And for those who are wondering, I haven’t finished my playthrough but I did just reach the Shadow Temple.
Nice video! I’m also tackling my backlog and sharing the journey on my channel:) I’m currently making my way through Zero Mission, and it’s a nice breezy time so far. We also share Ocarina of Time on our lists! I’ve never made it past death mountain 😅
Some absolute gems on this list. Hopefully you can get to a few of them. Mario 64, Shovel Knight, Golden Sun and Spiderman are some of my favorites on this list.
I think I understand why you wanted to play Mario 64 first, especially when you mentioned how you remember playing it... it's a good memory and honoring it.
Ah wow great backlog list! Happy 2025 gaming year. Great you included some gba games in there and also the oracle zelda games. Those games dont get enough recognition. Just started oracle of seasons today for nostalgia reasons.
You have a pretty great backlog. I also need to play Elden Ring and the Oracle games. Technically I have played Oracle of Ages but it has been so long that I don't remember anything about it, and I have a rule that games like that eventually go back to the backlog. I've started Oracle Of Seasons couple of times but didn't finish for various reasons. But now I'm having a pretty good streak of cleaning up my backlog so maybe now I could beat those. I think all of the Game Boy Color Zeldas have a really cool vibe. Golden Sun is a great game and actually the first JRPG I beat. Metroid Zero Mission is one of the best in the series. Super Mario 64 and Sunshine are pure magic. Sadly I haven't managed to complete either of them 100%.
I loved oracle of ages… I was 13 in 2001 when it came out… summer going into 9th grade… such an amazing gameboy game and the music is mesmerizing. Wonderful old school Zelda game !
I played metal gear solid 1 for the first time this year on the collection for ps5. It was so good, you just have to look past the bad graphics. The story itself is phenomenal and gameplay is unique. Id recommend putting the difficulty on easy
I gotten a lot of games on GOG alone last year especially in time for Christmas. Actually currently my most ridiculous game purchase ever!!! Across Steam, GOG and Xbox I got possibly hundreds of games to play lol. It happens when you're a gamer with the list constantly getting longer overtime.
Josie we have a similar back log. Minus the Sony walking simulators. I need to sit down, lock myself in my room, and beat Mario 64 and sunshine even though they control like dog shit and have bs game mechanics. I also want to get into MGS and play that series. For the past week ive been playing bo6 with buddies or Burnout Revenge on the 360. I should also work on my wii u backlog too. I have a lot of games to play this year
Keep on keepin on! I got a ps4 in 2018 and then bought like 50+ games on sale, and barely played any of them FOR YEARS. Then in 2023, I decided to really make an effort to start tackling the backlog. Not a great start, only played 4 games, but that was more than any previous year. Then 2024, in Jan I bought a ps5. And my gaming became OBSESSIVE lol. I started putting a real dent, played 30 games last year, even though some of them were new/replays and not on the BL hehe oops. And I'm going to continue in 2025/26!! This isn't even to count retro games. I'd love to get into the SNES, PS1, and PS2 one day, but for now, gotta keep grindin the modern games.
SM 1+2 are also on my log for this year. I started the 1st back in 2018, got pretty much to the end, but never finished it for some reason. and then 2 came bundled with my 5 slim so im finna play that badboi too. Played tlou2 last year for the 2nd time to see if I could change my mind, and it worked a little bit, but I still don't think its amazing. No Return mode in the remaster is SUPER FUN tho!
Put DS on the top of your priority list!!! One of my FAVORITE games EVER. I played it for the first time last year, and I effortlessly sunk 170 hours into it within a few wks hahah
@@Josie_Woah you can play it on PS5/PS4 on the Castlevania Requiem Collection, speaking of which Rondo of Blood is included on there and is also a great option, however I personally haven't finished it so I can't recommend it, although I know it's great. But SOTN is where it is!!
After watching that second place 'Deaths Stranding' segment I think I might put 'No Mans Sky' back on my 2025 backlog. It must be nice having lovely memories playing videogames with your dad, my dad always had to work so he didn’t have time to take me fishing or give me lessons on driving a spacecraft… I guess some No Mans Sky DLC will fill that void in my life. AND NO I'M NOT DRUNK! 🥃🤮 (Forgive a Glitch for being Buggy lol)
