Haha ! Did not expect Chris Coleman to bounce with that smile on the bass guitar, awesome !
We LOVE these Sonor compact drum kits. They are high quality, sound great and look cool too!
P.S. - The drummer is awesome too!
Forget about all that series... chris on bass is everything about this video 😂
Finally a proper video of these kits !!! And what a great choice to get Florian to demo them - I love him !!! I might just have to pick up a martini kit soon :)
Chris Coleman playing bass when he smokes all drummers of all time forever is funny;)
Chris Coleman's a great drummer but no one's better than Buddy Rich.
I’m positive Chris would smoke buddy, sorry. Plus legend has it he was a total dick. And Chris is super cool...haha
@@Chapeau362 Buddy rich isnt a good drummer. There are loads of other drummers who play with more feeling
and thats Chris Coleman. Love that guy.
I owned a Sonor in 1969 to 1974. Great Jazz kit with proper jazz cymbals it was absolute spectacular.
So you have two of your drummers in this video, nice!
I buy the Martini kit on my local store, and it's really surprise me everything of the kit, the color is fantastic, the tom holder are very strong and sofisticaded, the maple hoops of the bass drum make a really catch eye contrast, the steel snare sounds amazing, i take my time tunning, i put ambasador x to the 8 and 13 toms, and a Remo LA Legacy(discontinued) on the bass, and the kit really sound's good, i got a PDP M5 all maple kit, and a Gretsch Catalina club jazz, but i can't stop play my Martini, it's just the coolest drum set in the planet, specially for jazz and fusion drummers, go get the Martini, it's a great drum set.
Hi
Could compare the Sonor to Gretch Club kit? I'm looking for something suitable for jazz. I like the Catalina's vintage sound but the Sonor is a lot cheaper and I'm not quite shure which one is better.
Hi, if you dont have to much budget you can buy the Sonor Bop, is amazing and looks very cool, but the Gretsh CAT is other thing, super pro level kit, the sound is very jazzy but you can play any style, the bass is very punchy, so, in any case you never loose with all this kits.
Sounds really, really good. Really nice and really cute too, really.
Chris on bass! So cool
Just bought the Safari, I LOVE IT!!!!! Definitely recommend it over Breakbeats
sounds great ..!
I have the Sonor Safari, it is wonderful!
Great Sound!
You can find the microphone setup above in the threat.
great drums, i wana get my Martini's soon!
Can you tell me if all of the kits take up roughly the same area space. I'm building a studio in my room and I want the Bop kit for the deeper bass, but was wondering the square footage area between the three kits.
I own a Martini. Best drum ever.
chris coleman on bass¡
Great Florian
Proud owner of a Sonor Bop kit here!
Im between the sonor bop and gretsch cat club, any advice?
+Raúl Güereca I am currently trying to make that same decision. What did you end up going with?
I finish buying a Yámaha Stage Custom birch bop, very nice kit.
I think the ride is a Meinl Byzance Extra thin Extra dry. Sounds amazing.
love💖
Great player! Love those little kits - but after owning the Safari and Bop kit, I discovered that the space I take up with a 14x24 /9x13/16x16/14 snare isn't really that much bigger than the size of the Bop. My spacing front to back is actually smaller because of the depth of my 24, and I'm only wider by about a foot.
that man loves his brushes
reminds me on the ludwig breakbeat. i realy like this concept but the colour... ^^
These kits in AQ2 series are even greater (maple)
chris coleman is playing a bass. Your argument is invalid.
😂
Yes, it is him, but he should continue playing drums; because it is very bad playing the bass so I can see in this video
Come to Brazil
I really wanna get all three some day! But I’m gonna start with safari bc I want a small one that’s not to small but not to not small, just right
Chris Coleman
Hello! The Bop kit played at the end....if I was ordering it, would I look for a specific title? I really would like to get the exact one played in the video. Thanks!
What brushes are those? I don’t own a pair, but those sound nice.
can you guys tell me how you mic up the drumkit because it sounded really perfect thanks
Hi Irfan, i'm the producer of the videos. Our recording engineer Manfred Faust uses this microphones:
Bassdrum: AKG D12VR and Neumann TL 103
Snare: Shure SM57
Overhead: AEA R8 Ribbon Mached Pair with the AEA TRP Ribbon Preamp (he use the "Glyn Johns Method").
The other Preamps were the old version of the Focusrite OctoPre.
I hope this will you. Best regards, Christopher
Christopher Klemme well thank you but i actually ask the micing system where he play at the living room i dont see any mic attached, but it sounds perfect, how do you mic it?
irfan ahmad
One of the Ribbon Overheads was above the Drumset a little bit higher then the upper edge of the long shot. The other one were on the left beside the floortom and hidden by the table. The D12 was on the tophead-side of the bassdrum near the pedal. And the Room-Mics are on a short AB-Boom about 3m in front of the Drumset. I think in the stoneroom was a SM57 on the snare too.
Christopher Klemme okay thanks, cheers! :)
Which of the kits is used for the tune at the end of the video? The Bop kit?
Is that place at the end, 'The Cave' in Heidelberg ?
Still use the Martini snare for latin jazz, since it also has timbale and conga sound (with a dampening ring) in it. Versatile and small with 12x5. Got rid of the rest though. It lacked quality and tuning range. The AQs will be better, but the looks don't appeal to me.
2:23 Talk about date night tho
SOLD!
what kind of ride is on the right??
hey ma man on bass. drumer pro .
what kind of cmybals please ....?
Where are they made? Germany?
What wood is the bop kit made from?
i think poplar
how does he get the martini bass drum sound so low
David Zilz he could be using an EMAD or just low tuning
Chris Coleman?
i would rather buy chris coleman
Can someone explain to a noob like me, what kind of sticks those are he's using? They look like egg beaters.
At the risk of falling victim to a troll...
Those are jazz brushes. They reduce the volume, but also offer a sound that
can't be achieved by playing sticks. Listen to some jazz, or check out more of Florian's stuff. He's mad for brushes.
They're called brushes. Check out the Vic Firth website-they have any striking tool imaginable.
I thought I was watching a apple commercial
really ?
I wouldn't buy any of these kits because I am not a fan of drilled bass drums because the drum looses bottom and an tone when drilled
LUDWIG QUESTLOVE BREAKBEAT IS WAY BETTER
