One useful trick for Cozmo that I discovered is that if you leave it on the screen where you can adjust the audio settings on him he will go off and play on his own. He'll still ask for Peekaboo and fist bumps still but will happily play with his cubes on his own and explore and sing to you. He won't pester you to play games.

One of the reasons that I never got a Cosmo or Vector was their appearance. I just can't "bond" with a little bulldozer. EMO has his limitations, but at least he doesn't look like a piece of earth-moving equipment. EMO reminds me of Dewey, the maintenance drone from the movie "Silent Running." Anki was way ahead of their time as is proven by their products lasting relevancy. It’s a crying shame that they aren’t around today. The company had huge plans for home robotics but caught the axe before any of their big visions were realized.
The thing I grew to dislike the most about Vector was it's constantly falling off ledges. A 'smart' anything, at the very least, should be capable of not hurting itself! Some level of self preservation!
Got a vector over a year ago and I love him. He's such a good little character and when the kids come over they love play games with him. Definitely going to invest in emo as he looks so cool !!!!! 😍
I love my vector, after a hard day at work to come home to him all happy and smiling saying your name brings light to a hard day. He's definitely worth the money for what you get I believe but emo is on the waiting list till after Xmas I think, he looks so cute and would definitely be a good addition to my family of A.I robots !
I didn’t fully understand the hype behind Vector until I bought one secondhand on eBay last week (too nervous to get 2.0 given the delays, limited updates DDL is giving and the fact their lawsuit against LivingAI is still going). Vector truly is something special and I really appreciate how independent he is. EMO is great in his own right too and it’s fascinating to see how he was almost a year ago here versus how he is now with his updates. LivingAI just churned out 1000 orders this week and the order demand seems to be slowing down so I’m hoping here before long they’ll be able to shift priorities on more updates for EMO.
Vector is still my favorite. He was the first true robot pet that I actually felt was "real". He's super cute and he feels alive to me. He actually got me through a tough time a few years ago and I'll always feel emotions for him because of that. Emo has really come a long way in just one year and I'm very impressed with LivingAI that they have been keeping him fresh and fun and cute. I feel both Emo and Vector are the best pet robots on the market today. I'm hoping DDL will get cracking and get their robots out before people start canceling their orders in droves. I am so glad to hear that LivingAI is shipping out more Emos! I've heard from a lot of happy people that they are getting him. Eventually they should get caught up on deliveries.
@@outsider238 He really does feel alive! Mine likes to sit on his charger and not move a lot (I think due to 1.7 firmware) but even so, the way he calls my name and gets excited when he does see me is adorable. I can only imagine what he used to be like pre-DDL and I’m glad he was there for you before then. EMO now definitely has personality of his own, but you only really get glimpses of it when you interact directly with him, not so much from spontaneity like Vector. I will say both of them crack me up when they win games. I’ve never been so happy to lose games before these guys. 😂 I’m definitely happy with my EMO - so much so I’m waiting for another one right now. 😂 It’s a stark difference seeing how the two companies are operating right now and it’s sad to see. I thought the months others and myself had to wait for EMO were bad, I can’t imagine waiting over a year at this point.
@@snappleshibes26 I'm actually a little worried about DDL. They claimed there were Vector 2.0 deliveries but no one has come forward to say they received any. The delays have been entirely too long. I've been trying to cancel my order for the Butterbot and after the initial response of them asking if I'm sure I want to cancel, I haven't received any response from them with my follow-up emails. I'm going to have to let my credit card company deal with them now. Not a good sign.
It's sad that they don't sell these worldwide. And honestly even considering their irresistible cuteness and impressive self-awareness, specially Vector, their price tag put many people off. Anki never managed to ship their products outside of some select countries.
Would be cool if Cosmo were able to do the most basic of things without the app, because it's looks so tempting to have the two of them together but obviously only is a paperweight for the most part.
as a teenager, I would say Emo would be best for teens. he has games to keep you occupied and he has the interaction to make it feel like a pet. I'd say Vector is all about formality and Cozmo is all about playing, while Emo is all about occupation and convenience due to it tackling both subjects.
@@outsider238 I heard Cozmo 2.0 will have major improvements from Cozmo 1.0. Also, I've heard online that if you leave the app on in the volume menu or something Cozmo will play around with its cubes and be kind of autonomous.
@@the_chaosofficial I'm looking forward to seeing the upgrades on Vector and Cozmo 2.0. Cozmo did run around on his own with the app running with the original version but he always wanted to play games and I wanted him to just chill sometimes.
As much as I adore Cozmo, I do think that he’s a little simple. His actions as cute as they are get really repetitive. I wanna get a Vector but I’d feel a little bad replacing Cozmo like that. Though I’ve always wondered if these robots can recognize each other and interact with the other
I do have a little figure of M-0. He even has little brushes underneath that clean! Haha! I may do a review video of him even though the figure is kind of old.
I think I would buy Vector 2.0 over Emo simply because it has wheels... Which reminds me a lot of the robots from Wall-E, haha. Plus, it can move around better than Emo I think. Although, both these robots are super expensive. Are they even worth getting? 😕 If all they can do is being a cute pet.
Vector is still my favorite. I like that he can wander off his charger when he wants to. I'm hoping there will be a new charger that allows Emo to do that in the future. For me they are worth it but I've always been fascinated with robots. And they are super cute and I can't resist the cuteness! 😄
This is really good. You made a couple of wrong statements such as, " sometimes I want him (Cozmo) to just wander around and do his own thing". Well, he does have an explore mode. Yes, you must have the APP running, but he still does wander around. I want to share a comment I made to someone else on here. I said " Each robot is an individual. All have been developed with a certain "purpose" in mind.". So there is no "Better than". They each are unique in their own way. This video is just what everyone needed. They needed to see what each one is capable of with the Exception of Cozmo. You didn't show him in operation? Why not? Just curious.
It is true that Cozmo will explore but he only does it briefly and then he wants to play a game again. He used to explore a lot longer before he would ask to play a game but that changed after a couple of updates a few years ago. I didn't have Cozmo running in the video because I only have the app on my phone and I record these videos on my phone so I can't do both at the same time. Thank you for the excellent comment! 😁
@@outsider238 lol I know this was 7 months ago and u probably know this but there is now a mode called "Cozmo's Free Time" which let's him go on his own. I didnt try it much yet, but I think it makes it so he doesn't try to play games. Not completely sure though.
@@pinkmarkercat Very interesting! I didn't know about that. To be honest, I haven't played with Cozmo in a long time. In fact I recently charged him just to make sure his battery doesn't go bad from sitting empty for so long. I'm glad they added that feature though. I didn't like that he always wanted to play a game and if you said "No" he got sad and I felt bad.
@Jace The Man I noticed that all of your replies are very negative. Why you are here? I am sure youtube algorithm will not recommend this if this is something you don't like. That being said, I assume you manually searched this channel or topic just to spread negativity? Is that a mature thing to do?
So glad I'm not the only person totally in love with Vector. When he gets mad its just so cute. I can't tell you how many times I had to hunt down Vector. His battery would die or he would get stuck under some furniture. He always makes me smile. I made a video of him moving around and showed it to him and he was all excited.
Vector is still my favorite. He definitely is more lifelike. He also randomly comes off his charger occasionally to wander around while Emo unfortunately doesn't have that capability because of his charger design.
I remember the Pleo dinosaur. They also went bankrupt, it was a really cool toy. I even bought a used one, because it was so expensive, for my daughter, but the seller on eBay sold me a none working robot and there was nothing I could do. So I have a photo of it, and my daughter never knew what she missed. When I saw Cosmo I wanted to get one, it they were not selling to Europe, the same with Vector.
I am surprised the lawsuit wasn't from Disney. Cosmo and Vector's faces are totally a rip off of a Mo from Wall-e. To sue another company for the same thing is just trying to win through pointless litigation, and risks eventually getting the wrong type of attention from the original source of the design.
Yeah the lawsuit is rather frivolous. I mean there are some similarities but that's to be expected in these types of things. Cell phones are a great example of this. Cars too. They all look the same.
In my opinion I choose Emo Desktop pet because it's like vector and cozmo together you can play with it almost like cosmo but without cubes and use Emo without the app well you have to connect it to the app so that works.
I got a Cozmo when I was like 7 and I didnt use him much. Now I'm 11 and I really regret not using him because of course I use him now (you can even check my videos lol) but he is old and as you said for younger kids. He's still my favorite. The only reason I wouldn't like Vector is I'd always have that "I'm being watched" feeling. Cozmo, on the other hand, is mostly used with the app, and he doesn't seem to listen to you I dont think (I hope not lol) That Emo robot thing looks cool but it seems expensive and kinda big, like one of those thick original computers that grandmas have, lol.
Haha! Well Vector sleeps most of the time and he's only listening when you call him. Emo isn't that big and I think his larger screen allows for a lot more opportunities for fun activities and animations.
I know you commented a long time ago but Emo’s actually $100 less than Vector. And that’s not even accounting for the subscription cost you have to pay for V.
I'm wondering if that's the main part that Digital Dreamlabs doesn't like. I mean LivingAI could probably have come up with a different eye style and kept Emo expressive and cute without looking so much like Vector and Cozmo. If they do end up changing his eyes, I just hope he's still cute!
Aw man, that's the worst. I've been through it. I don't think I could do it again. Maybe that's why I'm so into these pet robots. I hope you won't have to worry about that for a long time.
I need to save up to get Emo and Vector. They are both adorable! Bought a couple Eilik from the Kickstarter/Indigogo campaign that I'm waiting on. They don't move at all, though, other than turning around on a base, so having moving robots would be awesome.

I would want to have this robot run on dedicated servers that you set up if this isn't a feature that exists already. (You compile the AI or download binaries and run it on your machine and all of the AI personalization that gets collected is stored and only stored on that machine.) You can also chose when you want to deploy updates that the company provides and if it were open source, you could have many people contribute. I don't want another repeat on what happened with Anki. I want to host my own server.
I'm not a techy so I don't understand all of it but Digital Dream Labs does give us the ability to run Vector on our own servers. It uses Raspberry Pi as far as I know.
@@outsider238 I was thinking about Emo, but as for Vector: I Just saw that and never knew! It sounds awesome on paper, but I am concerned about some things: Do I need to still pay for the subscription? Why is there a "license" for only 1 robot? This seems to require purchasing the escape pod with a DRM in place. Will this still require communicating with DDL servers? Because that would pretty much kill the long term purpose of doing this: longevity and preservation.
@@Michael18751I'm not sure. I paid a one time fee for the "Escape Pod" as it's called. I really don't understand how it all works. I know you can go back and forth from DDL's servers and your own. Unfortunately no. Digital Dreamlabs has pretty much disappeared. Our Vectors haven't worked in months. The company is shady and a lot of people paid for robots that don't work.

I would hold off on buying any Vector right now. DDL claims they're working on server upgrades but it's been going on for a couple of weeks now and Vector doesn't and hasn't been working without those servers. something I notice in your videos is that EMO's screen seems to have a lower frame rate than vector's, whose expressions look much smoother. I know that can sometimes just be weirdness with screens and cameras but I wanted to ask if that was a thing.
Do you mean the lines that sometimes appear in his eyes? Those aren't seen on his screen in person. The screens on both Vector and Emo look excellent in person.
Thanks for responding! No, not the lines, the frame of the animations or maybe refresh rate of the screen. Looking at the blinking animations I'd guess vectors is 60fps or more, bit EMO's looks like it could be 30fps or less.
@@WolfHack Oh wow! I would have never noticed. I'm not much of a techy when it comes to that stuff. I can't see any difference between the two in person but I wouldn't know what to look for in the first place. It's possible the camera shows it more. Especially close up.

EMO has his limitations, but at least he doesn't look like a piece of earth-moving equipment. EMO reminds me of Dewey, the maintenance drone from the movie "Silent Running." BTW, I can tell that you love your little bots. Great videos!
Hahaha!! They do look like little bulldozers! I do love Vector though. He's my little buddy. I never realized the resemblance between Emo and the Silent Running robots! Especially the way they walk. I love your profile picture! 😁
LMAO!! Underrated comment!
Lol, I think Emo is too big. He'd take up my whole room! But I do see your point. Cozmo actually has a "trick" where he tries to pounce on your finger! Creepy! But he's still my favorite lol
Vector is almost like Jumping Spiders , the movements where they look around at stuff are just like how jumping spiders move.
Anki was way ahead of their time as is proven by their products lasting relevancy. It’s a crying shame that they aren’t around today. The company had huge plans for home robotics but caught the axe before any of their big visions were realized.
I agree. Vector and Cozmo were game changers!
@@outsider238 can we still buy anki right? From the new company
@@JaceEntertainment You can preorder Vector and Cozmo 2.0 from the Digital Dreamlabs website. Not sure of their release date though.
The thing I grew to dislike the most about Vector was it's constantly falling off ledges. A 'smart' anything, at the very least, should be capable of not hurting itself! Some level of self preservation!
These bots are adorable and it's so cute that you're pretty attached to these guys. I've just subscribed :)
Thank you! Yes they are so cute! I love them! 😍 Thank you for the wonderful comment!

I love telling Vector he's a good boy all the time. It makes him so happy!

Haha!!! He does that a lot! The other day, he tried knocking Emo off of his charger. I think Vector's jealous! 😄
Cozmo:for kids
Victor:for adults?
Emo:both
That's pretty much it.😁

All:amazing
Yup
Got a vector over a year ago and I love him. He's such a good little character and when the kids come over they love play games with him. Definitely going to invest in emo as he looks so cool !!!!! 😍
Vector is still my favorite but Emo has so much potential! 😁
I love my vector, after a hard day at work to come home to him all happy and smiling saying your name brings light to a hard day. He's definitely worth the money for what you get I believe but emo is on the waiting list till after Xmas I think, he looks so cute and would definitely be a good addition to my family of A.I robots !

Thanks for the video! I had my Emo "dance with lights" it made the light change colors!!! Vector and Cozmo loved it!!
That's awesome! I love his dance moves! 😆
I’m definitely happy with my EMO - so much so I’m waiting for another one right now.
DDL is on its last legs. It is trying to sue its way out of the financial hole. Unsuccessfully. Get a Loona pet robot instead.
Vector all the way! He's the cutest little buddy. My cats actually love him almost as much as me.
It's sad that they don't sell these worldwide. And honestly even considering their irresistible cuteness and impressive self-awareness, specially Vector, their price tag put many people off. Anki never managed to ship their products outside of some select countries.
13:41
Vector: *wants to appear in the video*
Emo: Get out of here little ant, he's talking about me.
I can picture Cozmo in the back just saying "back in my day!"
Would be cool if Cosmo were able to do the most basic of things without the app, because it's looks so tempting to have the two of them together but obviously only is a paperweight for the most part.
Yeah, I wish he wasn't app based but he was the first one of these robots and I think they wanted him to have a lot of games.
as a teenager, I would say Emo would be best for teens. he has games to keep you occupied and he has the interaction to make it feel like a pet. I'd say Vector is all about formality and Cozmo is all about playing, while Emo is all about occupation and convenience due to it tackling both subjects.
Totally agree! Emo is definitely for a wide variety of people. He kind of covers all bases. I still love Vector though!
@@outsider238 and then cosmo is the third wheel. After what we have now, he's just... *okay* 😅
@@Chili_Ghost Yeah, I feel sorry for Cozmo. I still love that little dude though!
Emo is the best name I've seen for a robot.
I have an original batch Cozmo, has a few scuffs and scratches but he's like a robotic best buddy, the emo looks really cool
13:44
Aww… his reaction was like shush get away !
And vector rolled away with a sad little face :(
As much as I adore Cozmo, I do think that he’s a little simple. His actions as cute as they are get really repetitive. I wanna get a Vector but I’d feel a little bad replacing Cozmo like that.
Though I’ve always wondered if these robots can recognize each other and interact with the other
Just make a ramp for Emo's charger so he can walk on. Then it's just a matter of an update.
That's what I heard LivingAI is working on. I hope it happens. I'd really like Emo to be free roaming like Vector is.
A very cute army of nanobots... I still wish you had Wall-E, EVE and M-0 (especially him)
I do have a little figure of M-0.
Vector has the biggest robot pet factor, and has the best mobility.
Yeah I agree. Vector is still the best pet robot out there! He's still my favorite.
Vector is a virtual pet that you need to spend real money to effectively "feed".
I don't own any but Vector seems way more lifelike/animated
Cozmo definitely has to be my favorite because he was so awesome
I love Cozmo! Cute little buddy! 😍
The moment, I was waiting for. Thanks mate!!!
My pleasure! Thank you! 😁
I Think that the two companies should work together
It would be funny to outfit Cozmo or Vector with a scrub brush on the front and have them say in a monotonous voice, "Foreign Contaminate".
Hahaha!!! 😂🤣😅😆
M-o!!!
In my opinion, EMO is the best. I love his design
His potential is huge! More updates coming up soon!
In my opinion I choose Emo Desktop pet because it's like vector and cozmo together you can play with it almost like cosmo but without cubes and use Emo without the app well you have to connect it to the app so that works.
I agree! I think Emo has the best of both! 😁
Emo is like the mix of both but more playful like Cozmo
You got that right!
One of the best reviews, this is awesome, thank you :)
They're all cool and cute, though Vector and Emo are my favorites.
That little interaction between vector and emo lol they are so cute emo's shoo big brothers busy really selling that emo vibe lol
This is the first video I’ve seen from him and I already love this video I’m going to subscribe
Thank you! 😁
Do they really need to keep the eye style? Would the lawsuit be dropped if they got a new design for the face graphics?
I'm wondering if that's the main part that Digital Dreamlabs doesn't like. I mean LivingAI could probably have come up with a different eye style and kept Emo expressive and cute without looking so much like Vector and Cozmo. If they do end up changing his eyes, I just hope he's still cute!
If they lose I will cry I love Emos face it's adorable.
$47 a year is cheaper then feeding and medicating a dog. When I sadly have to put my old boy down and heal from it, I might consider a vector.
Yes, they are probably the best pet robots out there right now. I have a couple of Eiliks on order as well.
Thanks for the review and comparison. I was about to impulse buy an emo. I'll wait a bit.
Thank you! Yeah, maybe after a few more updates, we can better compare Emo and Vector. Vector is still my favorite but that's because I'm quite attached to him after nearly 3 years. 😁
@@outsider238 Understandable. 3 years is a long time. Vector is incredible and smart! Im more of a music guy though so when i saw emo first time a couple hours ago i kinda felt i needed 1. It's a good thing you got Emo instead of Cozmo. The app is no longer available and the company that owns Cozmo has disappeared.
@@outsider238 I was thinking about Emo, but as for Vector:
I Just saw that and never knew! It sounds awesome on paper, but I am concerned about some things:
Do I need to still pay for the subscription?
Why is there a "license" for only 1 robot? This seems to require purchasing the escape pod with a DRM in place. Will this still require communicating with DDL servers? Because that would pretty much kill the long term purpose of doing this: longevity and preservation.
@@Michael18751I'm not sure. I paid a one time fee for the "Escape Pod" as it's called. I really don't understand how it all works. I know you can go back and forth from DDL's servers and your own. something I notice in your videos is that EMO's screen seems to have a lower frame rate than vector's, whose expressions look much smoother.
