Something I really like about this is that it subverts expectations so many times, from people not expecting back to back relevant characters being in critical conditions/dying to Yuji not getting a sudden burst of anger and powering up. It’s realistic and that makes it more entertaining in my opinion

a common misconsepction is that todo used his cheeks to escape mahito in that one scene but if you notice on the frame after he escapes mahito's blade is broken which implies that a shot was removed or just not done where he brakes the blade and claps
Yeah there is supposed to be a bit where he breaks the blades, but that’s just the life of a Mappa employee these days unfortunately..
