I completely agree with you. I think you're the first person that thinks, like me, that you should be friends with your exes and not be mad at them because no matter what you once loved them and that will always be a part of you. And unless someone cheated and can't think of any reason to go from loving a person to hating them. I hope you follow your own advices Laine and stay strong you're a beautiful, intelligent, incredible girl. I didn't end a relationship, but I just ended a friendship. We were literally BEST FRIENDS. We had been friends since literally SECOND GRADE. We helped each other through crushes, bad grades, and mental breakdowns. We were always there for each other. I had always found out about her talking about me behind my back, though. She also talked about other people behind their backs to me. My mom always told me that if they talk about other people behind their backs, then they talk about you behind your back. I should've listened. TIP 1: YOUR MOM IS ALWAYS RIGHT. TALK TO HER! No matter how wrong you think your mom is, she is ALWAYS right. I was tired of having fake friends and I stood my ground and I told my ex-friend. I never talked about her behind her back and I still won't. I don't want to stoop as low as she did. I'm glad with the person I've become and I'm glad that I'm not allowing toxic friendships into 2018. I hope you tell that one fake friend how you feel too. Send them a really long message or even tell them to their face. Make sure they learn to not be so narcissistic and self-centered. The more people that learn that, the better this world will be:)

He’s telling me maybe we can get back together in the future but we never even talk and I have my days where I’m not interested and then when I miss him like mad, but we barely even talk now. I’m not sure why at all. He is working but I would think for any friend he would make effort to say he is too busy working to talk. Laine your absolutely right in everything you've said and your a wise young lady and i wanted to say that you are worth even more than you could ever image to all of the people in your life and to us your followers haha we love you and if you don't mind i'm gonna give a little advice that's helped me through the short yrs of my life,that advice is to set the mark high and like you said know your worth but also make a potential boyfriend work for your affection and over a period of time if he's still there trying to do everything he can to make you happy then you'll know that he's serious about you trust me time and patience are the real test of a man's love and if he's willing to give everything he's got even though you've friend zoned him then he really cares anyway i hope this helped and lol us guys usually don't admit it but we cry after breakups too it does help a little bit i think so i love ya girl and i hope you have a wonderful and amazing weekend and if you ever just wanna talk to someone you can message me on hangouts

Anyone who let's you go doesn't deserve you! You are so talented and pretty
I agree that you should be friends with your ex...or at least be on good terms, but that doesn't mean you should be their BFF. Take some time apart, but don't be afraid to smile at them in the school hallway or make small talk at a mutual friend's party. But, like I said, you shouldn't be their BFF. It will bring up problems later that you could have avoided in the beginning. Any leftover feelings from the first relationship could persist and you need to get over the person before you really start to hang out with them again. Leftover feelings will just take you back to that miserable place you were at when y'all first broke up. Again, be their friend, but maybe just be the kind of friends that smile in the hall or make small talk at a party. Not the kind of friends who hang out every weekend or text every minute of the day.
Just remember, there are other fish in the sea. It may sound cheesy and cliche, but it's true. They weren't the person for you. There will be others. Maybe MANY others, but you'll find Mr/Mrs right. Just be patient.

Me and my best friend we're getting forced to go out we liked each so went for 13 mins and then never broke up so I broke up with him on Tuesday and I was so mad at myself because I really liked him but we know it was better for us and other to just stay friends.And now I'm even more mad because he's moving to Texas and we years ruined our entire friendship trying to be something we're not.

These are few things i also wanted to add to my story but it would have been 1000 times longer I remember the very first day we met in music we both enjoyed practicing in same room but soon as we got close we hardly practiced at all and we ended up lying to the teacher when they came to see how we were doin most of the time we said we were taking a quick break. I really hated the strict rules the school had cause we hardly ever got to hang at recess or lunch sometimes but it was the afternoons i liked the most i just had to walk up the hill from where the school is and walk a few more meters and i would b right at my bus stop. the bus took like an hour to come but i didn't care it gave us more time to hang and that's wat we did after school for the rest of the yr except when the holidays came that gave us chance to hang for a day I never wanted to break up with her the next year but the distance just got to me i hated hangin after school and in the holidays and the day i broke it off deep down i felt like a fuckhead the night before i had million things goin through my head sayin wtf do i do i can't lose her i love her. After i pulled her aside i couldn't even bare to say anything but eventually it came out and i felt worse when i walked away. the message she sent after that made wanna do something stupid just lucky my friend was there to calm me down. That night i had flashbacks of all the fun times we had when we went to movie, her 14th birthday party (which was sometime) before we were over, the weekend she came and joined my nan and pops Christmas party and lunch the next day (that was the best weekend we ever had together.) Lucky last on Australia day that year she had a family day out at a beach and her parents invited me to join them and that was a offer i couldn't refuse. Her family were awesome i loved chattin to her parents they liked me & her little bro and sister's liked me as well. I regretted that whole day after that we never talked but i eventually got over it.
Ps - her birthday party, the weekend she stayed at my place & the Australia day trip are the best memories i have with her I'll never forget them, also can ya please give ya honest opinion on this nothin offends me, the real reason i messaged her on the fake file was to see if we could be friends again and hopefully catch up and chill out considering we hardly ever could back then. If the answer was a no then i wouldn't dare force her to be friends.

Gday mate I really need some advice
I was 14 and my ex was 13 when we met (im 22 now) which was in music class we practiced in same room and it was the only way to spend time together. At recess and lunch we had to hang out in different parts of the school due to strict rules all grades were to stay in their own grade areas and after school she'd walk with me to my bus stop and we'd hang til my bus came. I lived 40 minutes away so it was hard to organise things to do together but somehow we managed to sort out some stuff and whenever she had a family day out her parents always invited me to join them which I did i really enjoyed spending time with her family too. We stayed together for the rest of the year but when the next year came and we went up a grade I slowly started to lose the feelings for her somehow (I think it cause of the distance we started wanting to see eachother more often) and on the last day of term 1 or 2 I broke it off with her at lunch in front of her friends well not exactly in front of them i pulled her a side and then did it which I regret fuckin big time I felt bad enough doin it. After school I was walkin to a new bus stop with a friend who travels with me and I told her bout what happened and I got message sayin do not ever call, talk or text me again and my friend calmed me down just in time cause I nearly smashed my phone we never spoke since. Now come my reason for advice I messaged her on facebook last year and we talked for a while then few months later she blocked me and I messaged her on my fake file (which I made after college to get in touch with someone cause our friendship was destroyed by someone who i thought was my friend) and she said she didn't know that she blocked me and she said she didn't want to be friends again or whatever I can't remember and she's moved on I said I respected her choice and if she ever needs to chat bout anything im always here. Then I made a fuckin stupid mistake few weeks later I messaged her hoping we could have a nice calm chat but I ended up messagin her too much and she blocked me and I said out loud WELL DONE YOU FUCKHEAD ya'v done it now and since then we've never talked. I feel like I still love her but I don't know what anymore
Also hang out with ur friends, have a sleepover, girls(or boys) night in/out do something fun with ur friends to keep ur mind off it and remind u that u still have other people u can be with.
This happened to me recently...we are still really good friends and he comes to me for advice...but...What do you do if you can't get over him and one day you see him walking around holding hands with a girl that doesn't like you and you suddenly feel a twinge of pain in your heart because deep down even though no one thinks you still like him and youve convinced yourself that you don't you really do like him a lot and it hurts
