Nice job with pointing out the details. I agree with what was said regarding both negative cable and firewall ground being painted all the way to the end. I have seen that on untouched cars in junkyards 30 years ago. About the only things I could point out is that the metal pcv valve was installed prior to painting so that would be engine color as well, and there should be a small bracket that is held on by the rear stud near #8 plug that holds a plastic grommet to route the plug wire away from the exhaust manifold. Bracket should be engine color and grommet is natural plastic.
Absolutely, need to have a good candidate come in the shop. Have the engine built for my 68 440 HP Fury but it’s not the number motor for it so might not be a good example.
I'm supposed to be getting the Joe Dirt Daytona soon. Graveyard Cars restored it for me. I had them also wrap the car like in the movie. I'll post a video when I get it.
Nice work Tom... I can appreciate the oil pan restoration/bodywork! I can have 4-6 hours into hammering out, metal finishing, and baffle re-install on an original pan... Lots of NICE $ cars with bashed pans out there. You should try to find the correct block drain plugs... I have put away some originals for some of my more worthy projects!
Unfortunately no. They make the 72 and up filters but as far as I know nobody is making the green ones. Originals have a Mopar “M” stamped outwards which is almost impossible to reproduce. People have made green ones before but they never have the correct stamp.
How long does the paint last on the exhaust ? I remember I had to pull the drivers side on my 69 Charger but dont remember there being paint on it at the time but that was 25 plus years ago.......
I wish you would have posted the paint info link. What it is and where to get it. So that is a high temp paint? Motor looks great. Tell Trevor nice work from the ol painter 😂
I'm not a rivet counter, but l like your attention to detail and appreciate your love of all things Mopar.
Not everybody is and that’s fine! Hobby has room for everybody.

Great video Tom.
Great/ informative video as always!!
Great video Tom thanks, can you do a video on 68 440 or 383 numbers matching engine decode?
Thanks

Nice job on sourcing the correct products for the engine Tom, and great job Trev on your paint work.
Cool video!
People always stopped to get a good look at those cars when they were on the road as daily drivers.

Sounds cool!!!
great info , question do judges look at the serial numbers on the block and transmission ?
When doing super high level judging (like at MCACN) yes they do. Most local car shows will not.
My money on you brother 👍🏻💯✌🏻

We do have them, just need to put them in, it will get some touch up before assembly and will fix it then.
Who rebuilds water pumps?
Found a guy in Oregon, will look up the name.
Good info! Seems like I've read they came with maybe a green Mopar oil filter. Is there anything like that available for OE judging?
Unfortunately no. They make the 72 and up filters but as far as I know nobody is making the green ones. Originals have a Mopar “M” stamped outwards which is almost impossible to reproduce. People have made green ones before but they never have the correct stamp.

Not long. If you break them in with paint on them they last about 20 minutes, if you break them in before (like we do) they can last a while.

Good point 🤦♂️ we get our paint from frank badalson.
