So this week I'm jumping into Combat Pets and letting you guys know what I think about them and giving you the info we know so far. *Let me know what you guys think below do you think they could add more or is it exactly what you're looking for? or will you even use this system?* Don't forget to drop a LIKE, Enjoy!
That thumbnail Lmao! Pokémon master Steven.. Video was Great as always bro, I agree I would love to see pet battles aswell and it expanding into these types of tournament's in game.
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed.. honest the idea of combat pets in the game and if they added in these things would be amazing to get involved in with, and just adds in a reason to get on and play the system over and over again rather than it dien out once everything is tamed and breed up, thinking more long term with that but you get me haha.
Good video once again my friend! You’re right on how important it is to the life and replay ability of the game. It’s these smaller systems that keep the communities alive. I love the idea of having legendary quests for pets or monthly tournaments that take place across the world. Being able to use them as utilities will be huge and will keep the system relevant as long as the game is alive. Can’t wait to catch ‘em all
Yeah I totally agree it'll be interesting to see how intrepid pulls it off and how they make the combat pets different from the normal pets and the summoners pets. Can't wait to see it game. You can call me Az Ketchum haha
One thing I read on the summoner wiki page is that when you summon a combat pet, it actually takes away some of the player's power: "Summoner's summons will add to the summoner's power when they are summoned, unlike combat pets, which take a portion of the player's power.[8] The Summoner archetype does not have that portion of power taken away when they summon their pet. That's part of their... power is their summon.[8] - Steven Sharif"
Yeah i talk about the players power being decreased around 2 minutes in not sure if it was the clearest. I imagine when you give your power to the combat pet we'll see our stats decrease due to the reduced power. Yeah the summoner is definitely an interesting class hopefully we see a glimpse of it before Alpha 2 as i know I have a lot of guild members who are interested in playing as summoners.
@@Azrial Yea you did, sorry I must've been distracted when you talked about it and I missed that part lol But yea, I am really excited that they seem to be going with the classical summoner class, as that has always been my favourite class in mmorpgs.... unfortunately a lot of the more recent mmorpgs which have "summoners" don't really feel like summoners, but more like just an extension of the player. My all time favourite summoner class was the mystic back in Perfect World, so I hope I will be able to create something similar with archetype combinations.
@@Corbeauxx no problem haha. Yeah, i keep hearing a lot about how good perfect world was but I haven't played it myself. I've played FFXIV, GW2 and ESO. I did enjoy that you could find different summons with the Ranger on GW2 but it didn't really feel like a summon in my opinion. hopefully, we will see more gameplay on the classes soon I would say this month's stream will be showing all the new maps and the UI and whatnot.
Great video. I'm hoping they do put a pet battle system in as I really enjoyed games like Pokémon and tem tem and would be nice to see a system like that in place.
honest, i would love to see that within ashes of creation real depth and pet battles, could even have taverns based all around this, where folk bet gold on who will win player-run tournaments would be amazing.
Pets could add an extra layer of synergies and customization to your build. Like, as a healer or bard you could have a pet sprite that will go and give passives buffs or heal incentives or a stack of some effect that you can cash in as a response to your rotation and abilities. Make pets part of your build instead of another character model on the battle field. Add more utility pets that help with espionage or collaborative pvp and create more immersion. A pet battle field sounds dope. It’s giving dessert riffraff vibes
Yeah that would be nice too see I feel like it would be a lot to code though with how many classes there are it all depends on how much the secondary archetype changes your rotation. It'll be interesting to see how intrepid work it out in game. And I would love to see some more PvP focused combat pets.
I agree with you. As I am primarily interested in another project, I fear I will not be able to commit to Ashes as much as I might. Heck, if the combat is too frenetic, it may be physically difficult for me to play. So I suspect that Summoner might be the best choice for me. I will do Taming as my profession, and hopefully establish a working relationship with a Breeder. One hope I had, which is apparently wrong, is that one of the four Summoner Augment types modify abilities so that they effected Pets more, or effected a Pet and their Controller. But that seems hopeless. Assuming I can afford a relevant PC, I think Ashes will open Alpha 2 before my favored Project does, so I will probably play some Ashes.
What other project are you waiting for at the minute? I'm waiting on ashes A2 and Ark 2 at the min nothing else catching my eye, maybe test out that throne and liberty looks like it could be good fun, To be fair mate the way the guilds will work, and how many different guilds there will be you will easily be able to trade with people or set up certain deals to help yourself out without directly being in the guild for sure. I think they're saying about having a lot of customisation for graphics and stuff so even if you have a lower-end PC you should still be able to play, that being said the high-end ones will deffo feel the full immersion of UE5 and the weather effects. Augments at the minute I think affect what you can summon such as a death augment would be more like a necromancer but it's hard to judge the class on what we have on now hopefully we see it soon.
I have backed Pantheon Rise of the Fallen for Beta, because it is the game I want to play, Visionary Realms' "Road to Alpha" is plausible, and I very much like the community. As VR completes their announced milestones, I will incrementally upgrade my Pledge until I have Alpha. Pantheon is much less of a risk for me personally than Ashes of Creation, because the pace of combat will be physically sustainable, and the cost of an appropriate PC will be much less. Ironically, the ridicule that Pantheon sometimes faces may actually help the game succeed, as it reduces over expectations, and will not attract the usual Swarm seeking the next "Wow Killer" at launch, consuming all the content, them abandoning the game, which is a real risk for Ashes of Creation.
@@antondovydaitis2261 Yeah there is a lot of hype around ashes of creation but from what I'm seeing from the weather system and the character creator if they build all their systems to that standard I believe they'll live up to it but that is just my opinion. I don't think any game needs to kill wow I think it's done that itself haha, I think it would be more appropriate to say a game has the same success as WoW. I've not really looked into pantheon or Visionary Realms but they may be something I look into in the future while waiting for ashes to release. i don't know if any game can fully live up to wow and with how ashes is more niche and i just can't see it getting them numbers but who knows I could be wrong. well if you ever want to talk more about ashes away from the video we do have a community based around it - discord.gg/8Tc9tZVfYJ if not always feel free to continue the conversations over here :)
I'll have to look into it more, I've never heard of it before but I just googled it and saw that its still going today even though it released in 2006.
i think it will simply not be as useful for some classes to use pets due to the stat reduction, for example the tanks of the grouup would be better off keeping his stats and letting team mates play the other roles. or perhaps only apply those stat reductions in pvp if people are concerned with them being too op. consider that we also dont know how intelligent the "ai" is anyways, it doesnt matter how good they are if their actions are easy to manipulate in pvp
I think the pets are more aimed at players who plan to play solo or in a small group say a solo tank who could do with a bit more dps or healing, or a healer who could use help getting some dps output, or for people who just enjoy pet systems in mmo. We really need to know more about this system and see in alpha 2 how it interacts.
@@Azrial i was a big fan of pet mechanics in everquest and wow, i absolutely cannot stand how some games use summons as an ability rather than actually having an active pet, like lost ark or the warden class in eso., i feel like pets have largely become useless, leveling a summoner in final fantasy online was like watching grass grow, youll literally level up to 60 before ever having to use a 2nd ability...i loved some things about ff14 but their summoner system is garbage, like its not a "summoner" its just a mage. lol

Yeah hopefully we see in Alpha 2
@@Azrial hopefully. I hope you plan on doing a video explaining what will be in alpha 2 and when you think it will be.
@@unlimitedttv1878 I'm actually going to be working on some Alpha 2 stuff very soon so keep a eye out for it 👌
Loving the thumbnail mate hahahaha
