I have to agree with your views on pricing. Here in Tasmania, City Mission shops are ridiculously expensive. It's a whole industry. Even our local Tip shop is run by City Mission. There are a few smaller ones that I frequent and I love them. I am now 74 and have been op shopping since I was 13. We were a poor family, 4 kids, and MUm was a very fashionable lady who was an actress and singer and so had to make every penny work. Once she went into Aged Care, ( she lived 200 ks from me) her greatest joy was me taking her out for the day Op shopping. Such wonderful memories. X

Love the navy dress, it is gorgeous. Can I give you a styling suggestion on that pleated violet skirt you got recently, (not that I am an expert, I certainly am not) but as soon as you styled it with that navy top, I thought it would look amazing with a fitted navy long sleeve top, left over the skirt, not tucked in (more boho style) with a gold chain belt around the waist. Love to see you style that skirt like this. 🙂

OK, love your looks ❤..now I work in an opp shop, small independent charity, regional 🐨 some points, we are drowning in fast fashion. Over the last few years we all know of the huge shift. It is getting harder and harder to find people who are willing to or able to volunteer 🙋♂️ 😕. It is an extremely labour intensive sorting process. We can be going through bags full of bits and pieces, sometimes it is all the items on the dirty floor. Others are beautifully and respectfully presented. But every puzzle piece is counted, every piece of fabric measured. 🤔 I ❤my job, I love my customers, who know really are diverse. Those in need, those who sell on. Oh and we are still business who answers to somebody 🙄. I know everyone has an opinion on this at the moment but please consider those who give of their time and energy, regardless of what is happening in their lives to bring these items to front of the shop 👏 👏 they truly are remarkable. Love that blue short sleeve jo! That was STUNNING with those trousers! I actually find that salvos in qld is pretty good. They have a loyality program that if you get 5 stamps youget 50% off 10 items which is awesome. Vinnies the other hand 😬 recently one near me had a fake ralph lauren polo shirt with holes and pills for $100! It sat in the shop for months. Then that vinnies had a makeover and did a 50% sale beforehand to get rid of stock before the revamp. 2 months later, being the op shop nut i am, i showed up to their re launch day. That fake Ralph lauren shirt was STILL there and they had relabeled it to say $30. I had to have a chuckle, as still no one wants to pay that for it 😂😂 i love your ranting jo i can relate so much haha😂
Love the skirts you got! I went to salvos today, got 2 dresses, 1 pair of black pants and a book. Very happy with my finds as well. And yes, hopefully the stores go back to a normal pricing instead of retail store pricing

I will not walk into some shops now because of their prices and I will not be donating to those charities. I think most people are feeling the same way and am staying away from those shops. There is a WONDERFUL op shop near me that is run by and serves battered women ; domestic violence survivors...with gorgeous clothes and their prices are SO GOOD.
Very happy you snagged some bargains! I can’t believe the prices the Vinnies near me is charging. $45 for a nondescript, worn out mens leather belt. Not designer, not even nice! I’m hoping things will change or I’ll have to join a nudist colony!🤣🤣🤣
