Check the four grub screws that lock the length of the Shaft that rides through the K-connect. Mine were lose and the mid shaft PTO fell off when the Pto was engaged. 😮
Making The Most Of It With Linda it’s been a huge help by making us way more productive. We can do so much more work with it than with shovels and wheel barrels alone!
Do you have any idea the part # to your mid PTO shaft. Last winter I hooked up my snowblower, when I tried to use it, I noticed someone Stole mine. Snowblower no worky!
Boy, this would be a good addition for when we need to replace our lawn mower- Something a little larger, yetsmaller and more efficient than a larger tractor. Do you find that the K-connect is really low to the ground? or do you only use it for the snowblower and your bucket is on the rest of the time? Thanks for sharing!
We only use it for the blower, which makes it nice that it’s so easy to put on and take off. I’ll probably throw the bucket back in today in prep for butchering the pigs this weekend.
William F We looked at them side by side and the box of the 2822 was constructed of a heavier gauge steel, as well as being slightly taller. There was more lash in the chain driven system, vs the gear system on the 2822, and with the driveway as long and rocky as it is, the 2822 gearbox just seemed more up to the task than the 2816. The width wasn’t a big deal in the decision, but it’s always nice to have some extra clearance per pass.
@@TheMindfulHomestead Cool thanks. Just bought a 2816 sight unseen and not really knowing what the price difference in the different units...48, 50, 55. Looking back now it looks like the 48 comes standard with Hyd chute rotation (I think) but the 50 and 55 does not. Since i was going to get the Hyd rotation regardless...there is only about a $1200 difference between the 48 Heavy Duty commercial....and the 50 not so Heavy duty residential. I guess the 50 (2816) will be fine as long as I don't push it too hard and give it some TLC from a preventive maintenance and storage standpoint. I got tractor fever and apparently bought to quickly without knowing the full details of the options. Anyway, great channel.
William F thanks. Our 55 did come with the hydro chute rotation. I don’t know if they are still supplying it that way or not, but when we spec’d the tractor, the sales guy said the hydro chute rotation was standard. There’s so little info out there on these things. We basically just jumped into it trusting the videos from Neil at Messicks.
Thanks so much for posting this. I've done this several times but I always look at this video before go out for hook up. Today's the day!
Been looking all over at what I needed for the mid mount PTO, thanks!!
Glad I could help!

I don't know much about tractors but that model looks like it could have been handy when I use to live on land.

Perfect, thanks Man!
No problem! Glad it could help!
Maybe weld some split schedule 40 pipe on your leading edge of snowblower.... helps alot on gravel/dirt drives
I've got a 6' length in the garage I need to cut up.
What attachment parts for the mid mount mower need to be removed to mount the snowblower and 4 point K-hitch? Love the tractor videos.

Thanks for swinging by!
IMO that’s a way better system than John Deere’s quick connect. Although I still don’t understand why they don’t attach it to the bucket arms.

is this anything like hooking up a t2834a to a Kubota T2290?
Now can the snow come.

Question: Can the K-connect system stay installed and your loader be used ?
No. There isn’t enough clearance. It’s pretty quick to change out though once you get the hang of it.
Can it power a flail mower?
Roughly how much time start to finish?
To hook it up? Maybe 10 minutes max.
What sold you on the 2822 vs 2816?
